Now my issue is this is end game content why is it so easy... I want a challenge, the only challenge I get anymore is in pvp and even then a good match is few and far between. I'm making a plead to the devs to make STF's real end game content like they used to be combine both ground and space STF's so you have to do both in conjunction or at the same time. And make the Borg like real Borg. A threat! Right now all STF's are just a grab at points and not a challenge.

Congratulations you've reached the top 15% player base of the game! You need a challenge? Then no win scenario is for you! http://www.stowiki.org/User:V_Silverwings
There is a guide to get you started on the right path. ^_^
I know it may be hard for you to believe, but 85% of the players of sto have problems with elite stfs still. Since increasing the skill required for estfs would make it impossible some players it wouldn't be wise to alienate most of their player base. FYI Estfs were incredibly easy in season 5 and have received buffs to make them harder.
A few examples of the buffs: in season 5 vampire power builds could turn off a tac cube's shield and weapons with only one ship. They then gave the borg power insulators so now it takes 3+ vampire builds to turn off a Tac Cube's shields. In season 5 Borg were no longer allowed to crit. This helped reduce of you getting hit with random one shots. They gave the borg the ability to hit you critically again this season. In season 5 I could solo ISE and get optional! Haven't been able to get optional yet this season, but I haven't tried as hard since I've been playing no win scenario.
So they've buffed the Borg, and you're still think its too easy well good sir/ma'am you're a top player in pve.
1. all white xi gear
2. No escort usage or dhc usage
3. No tricbombs
4. Play in a sci ship (not the vesta)
5. Use only standard RA ships
6. Pug Cure space elite or Kase

Stf hard mode engaged!
I already beat no win not that hard. Still it's end game content the developers shouldn't have to make it easy just because other players don't develop skills needed to play the game. I take it non of you played when STF's where a real challenge and took about 30 min to an hour to complete.
-"There is no such thing as an I win button!""Um, Sir. Whats this button that says (I win) for then?"
Out of curiosity what ships were used to get your record times? Not looking for full builds just generally speaking like 4x Escort, 1x Tank Cruiser or what have you.
Playing with random people can be a challenge. If the missions are made harder it could become to hard for random people to complete requiring a specific group of players to complete and that would be bad for the game.
Set your own challenges. Use weaker ship. Use weaker equipment. Play with random people. Whatever it takes try something different.

Here are a few ways you can extend your gameplay experience:
Option 1 - Use lower mark gear,
Option 2 - Use a lower tier ship,
Option 3 - Start playing PvP OR,
Option 4 - Beg PWE to create a FETISH ABUSE level difficulty.
I do speak for the majority when I say the devs already "fixed" unbroken STF gameplay with Season 7...LEAVE IT ALONE.
Maybe they should fix the overpowered jem'hadar ship.

You should have waited until you did the grounds before you started the thread.
Your problem is simple, and can be seen from that very first sentence fragment: you're a top player with top level gear running in a whole team of the same. As such, your experience is very different from that of the average player, who PUGs most of their STFs and is in the slow process of getting something better than episode gear. Plus, you're probably running escorts, which have a huge advantage over many of the other classes which are also supposed to be capable of running the same content. So yeah, if you want a challenge, start by downgrading all your gear, getting a non-Fleet Recon Sci, and dropping all your bought consoles. That, with an inexperienced player, should be able to run all the content you've been running, because this game just doesn't differentiate between endgame "here's where you get all the best stuff" content and endgame "this is stupidly ridiculously hard and you need all the best stuff to have a chance" content. If it's not hard enough with that, start going down a tier at a time, T4 is certainly possible for ESTFs, I actually wouldn't be at all afraid to try my T4 Intrepid in one, but T3 might bring in some real challenge, and T2 definitely would. And of course, you can try PUGing too, which will increase the difficulty several fold.
As others have said, if you want a challenge, get basic gear and ships. Or go PUG. Let me give you an example:
Tonight (true story) my friend and I two-manned CSE. Galaxy-X and Fl. Tac. Esc. Retrofit. It took a while but we did it. Now in PUGs I've done with my very same fleet Defiant, doing CSE will be incredibly difficult and often fails. But I find that very entertaining, they are quite satisfying to play just to try and save the mission and/or see what people do.
Look at me, I did all the ESTFs with opt! Whoo hoo!
Word of advice:
Put your member away, most of us don't care.
You beat the space STFs in low times with top level gear and ships. You want a medal? You are currently doing nothing more than bragging, which doesn't say much. You are saying STFs are too easy, without providing any reasons/incentives/suggestions on improvements.
So as everyone else here is saying:
Get into a freebie ship. Use all mk X white gear. THEN do all the ESTFs (space and ground), and then come back. If you can do that, congrats. Most of us still won't care. However if you fail miserably, please come back and say so so we can troll you.
Thank you and good night.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
Just for a last post in the thread, the ultimate challenge:
Get a T1 Miranda. Load it with only Mk I or Standard Issue common quality gear. Now solo ISE and get the optional. We know it's possible to solo ISE with the optional, and we know it's possible to win ESTFs with T1 ships, so combine them.
Pull that off, and maybe we can talk about STFs being too easy, although frankly the damage variance still kills that idea. Sphere torps are currently dealing anything from 50k damage through full MACO shields with EPtS down to 5k damage on bare hull. Apart from the fact that the former just isn't survivable for everyone (my Vesta only gets around 40k hull strength fully specced into it), the variance is preposterous, and makes planning impossible and luck the major element in survival. Unless of course you have a highly skilled dedicated tank cruiser or Steamrunner, but again, PUGs.
What the others have been saying - do it in a Connie or Oberth - then you can call yourself 'Elite' (for what it's worth) - as for ground, leave your weapons behind and have your entire team hand-to-hand the Borg - that's an achievement.
So here is my suggestion.
Why can't the devs return the pre STF's as it was before with storyline? That to me looks interesting and can be used by Fleets only as a raid or big Fleet mission which we all kinda miss in this game(Doing something big and challenging with Fleet members).
Or better yet bring back Crystalline Catastrophe? I would really love to do something like that with Fleet members only. What happend to that event actually?
My problem with ESTFs is the NPCs have 5 skills: FAW, HYT, CRF, consoles and I win...
Perhaps if the AI was capable of simulating thought if only in the form of basic if and statements and using rather more skills with more reasonable stats it would be more challenging.
Try running thwm with the gear you get right at the beginning.
Without MACO Gear or any other similar
And use PUGS and if you die let damage accumulate that should give you a challenge

I love how everyone is saying to switch to lower gear to get a challenge so show me any other game where that has to happen to get an in game challenge. So an idea is to make current elt STF's Advanced STF's and make a whole new elt stf that you can't pug for you have to be in a five man team to q for. That is one option another is to go back to pre S5 that is something I would love
Next issue is everyone is saying what to do to make a challenge which makes me believe that you all are saying its to easy as well.
-"There is no such thing as an I win button!""Um, Sir. Whats this button that says (I win) for then?"
You just don't and can't pug it it's only ment for those with high gear that finds Elite STFs not a challenge anymore. That's what he ment, you que for it with a team of 5 peeps, friends/fleeties.
Since no fleet will get T5 Starbase anytime soon, it's to me a nice idea to have a space mission and ground mission open for the Fleet that only fleet members can join, that should be made a bit challenging even with high gear.
(I am not saying Cryptic should do this, these are just suggestions, I hope some of the Devs are reading this and making some notes for the future, I really love this game it's my fav mmo atm. I gave up on GW2 after 2 / 3 months cuz after 8 years of WoW I am kinda fed up with fairy tale games so whent back to STO and S 6 and 7 changes just got me hooked!)
Anyway I have no idea what's in store for us in Season 8 so we might get a lot of new ground and space missions along with challenging raid missions for Fleets?
Dammit, everything is too easy. I worked hard to get the best gear and now everything is too easy. This sucks! Why did this happen? Why does the best gear make things too easy???
/sarcOFF
What STFs need is a Super Elite mode. It will be uberly hard, designed for 5 players all with the best gear and requires cookie cutter set ups to beat. Then we can watch as no one uses it for a challenge because it's "too hard" to use to farm stuff because elite mode is far more rewarding. But for what it's worth, the game can stand such a new challenge setting now that the rep system is in place, so we wouldn't have people joining simply because they want to go straight for the best gear. They can try a public que for higher rewards, but uh, yeah. Good luck winning in PUGs. Just like No Win.
They are only easy if you have a good team... the random queues are a sure way to lose the optional since people who should be playing on normal are attempting elite without understanding the game or the missions
