    Wrong.
I'm no Apple anything, but I know the G5 desktops had perfectly normal graphics cards - including the high-end options of the day - and I'd think their workstations today (do they still make those?) are just ordinary PCs, with ordinary graphics card options.

You need to do a bit of research before you post friend.
Look at Apple's website, the brand new 12 core powermac monster comes with a Radion HD 5770.
This card was released in October 2009 and was considered a budget card then. It's criminal that a machine that costs 3 times the price of the same spec PC has such a pathetic GPU.
Mac's are the ultimate in style over substance. Mac users are paying vast sums of money on cheap plastic bezels with an apple logo on it. With the exception of the retina display on the uber priced models, the hardware is incredibly ordinary.
    The buyers are incredibly gullible.

Apple graphics SUCK, plain and simple. This is fact.

I am all for this as a Mac user who is forced to dual boot to enjoy STO.

Would make my day so much brighter if I didnt have to reboot to play...

"Oh, I wanna play some STO. F Yeah, lets do it" would be my new quote instead of "Oh, but then I have to spend 5 minutes rebooting."
