Hey, all, figured I'd post this in case some of you don't follow the Dev Tracker.
We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance to apply a new update.
ST.25.20121210a.21

General:
  • Romulan Transporter Duty Officers will no longer decrease the cooldown of abilities other than the ones they are intended to.

Yay!

Is it okay to talk about them now? I would assume so since they mentioned it in the patch notes.

These things were really killing the fun of the game. More than anything else. Now to see if those that were exploiting them can still win without them. Something tells me, "No"

    Full notes:
We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance to apply a new update.
    ST.25.20121210a.21

    General:
    • Cutting the Cord: Updated so the shuttle cannot be destroyed until the Romulans spawn.
    • Winter Event: The KDF Assignment "Test Effectiveness of Adaptive Outerwear Designed for Gorn" now has proper Success/Crit/Fail modifiers.
    • Resolved a UI issue where Foundry missions would not always report that they qualify for rewards.
      • This is a UI update only; the rewards were properly granted previously.
    • Romulan Transporter Duty Officers will no longer decrease the cooldown of abilities other than the ones they are intended to.
    • New Romulus Mountain Pass: Updated enemy group spawn placement to decrease chances of aggroing 2 or more groups at the same time.
So, seems most issues will remain issues. At least this one was taken care of, it was the biggest one I'd say.

I know it's not really a popular thing to hear, but give 'em time. They've only been back a week or so. Next week's patch may or may not fix your issue but dang-all if it probably won't have a slew of other fixes.

Can see why it will be on Tribble for more than a couple of days testing though...

This is kind of annoying as well:

The Omega Plasma Torpedo Launcher no longer triggers the cooldown reduction procs of Projectile Weapons Duty Officers.

Sure, there were issues with it - but this reads as a complete separation instead of addressing the issues.

Removed "Ground" or "Space" indicators from Specializations
All active roster powers now indicate "Ground" or "Space" at the beginning of their short descriptions, instead.
Powers that are not region-restricted do not indicate a region.
    They work everywhere.

Does this mean that the Romulan DOff's that reduce cooldowns will reduce the cooldowns on space or ground powers depending on where they are slotted?

This is a descriptive text change only. No functionality has been altered.

e issues with it - but this reads as a complete separation instead of addressing the issues.

Standard operating procedure for Cryptic. Instead of dealing with a source issue, they break something else instead. The Tricobalt mine change is a textbook example.

I JUST finished perfecting a Tricobalt Bomber build and now this.

Can't say I'm too happy right now.

WHY can't you just leave well enough alone is what I want to know. The unpredictable damage spikes are what made them FUN to use. If you take that random factor out of it, it becomes FAR LESS fun to use those weapons.

    Let's see..

Tweeked Tricobalt Mines.. Slightly Check.. Did notice they don't crit Quite as much as they used to. And reducing their Defense makes them eaiser to be shot down. Making them eaiser to see should help to. But that won't stop the Tric Bombers who can lock you down right before they drop their Tric Mines and keep you that way before the mines hit.

    Fixed Fleet Shields...Kinda check

Made the Kinetic Cutting Beam better.... A little Check Damage wasn't too crazy. Went from around 900/755 DPS to 1300/1,050 DPS

The change to Torp doffs on the Omega torp kinda stinks.. But it was understandable...

I didn't notice the change in Set powers being better to be honest. But then again it's hard to notice things that I don't use all the time or on a regular basis.

 Because when you had enough people using said Tric Bombers, it became almost as bad as one shot tacs in Ground..

I kind of hope this doesn't affect one of my toons too badly its what kind of made the fleet varanus for my gorn sci effective in space as a team healer and providing adequate offense for a team given its in a support ship.
