Unable to collect 2nd reputation reward of unique item.

I bought a M.A.C.O. costume unlock from the reputation system when I reached Tier 4 and I collected the reward. After I got it somehow (not sure how) A second project for the same M.A.C.O. costume unlock started.
The second project completed and displays the "collect reward" button but it won't let me collect, when I click the button It says that I may only have one of a unique item and won't clear or give the reward meaning that one of my reputation project streams is blocked.
Anyone any ideas or suggestions? All gratefully received.
