From how I understand the games target and damage system works this may be really hard to do but I'll put the idea out anyway just in case.
I'd like to see an [AntiAdapt] that works in the manner of when an enemy fires at you while you have a shield with that property they have a chance of getting a defuff stacked on them that reduces their damage resist vs the damage type they hit you with.
I think it would be a nice option away from the ever increasing tank spiral and would make a nice offensive set bonus that would make sense on the Reman or Romulan end gear.
This is considered working as designed for the time being.
The purpose of the Romulan Space Set is that it is a valid option to be considered in lieu of obtaining the Reman Space Set. It offers a stat variation that some captains may prefer over the Reman Set, and a different ship overlay visual with the Shield.
They have the same set bonuses, the same costs in the Reputation System and the same tier requirements.
Again, it's an optional variation of the existing set. Not intended to be an upgrade.
Of course... saying this doesn't preclude the set from being reviewed, tuned and changed in the future.
We're not looking for upgrades, we're looking for usefulness. Everything else in the game that has set bonuses is an upgrade to reman/romulan.
At the end of the day I understand you're going to do what you want, and if you want to go the "get it? romulan/reman are buddies so their sets are similar" path then so be it. I'll accept it. But I don't have to like it.
They give a speed bonus to plasma torpedoes, so they are good for torpedo ships based on plasma torpedos
The bonus is about 1 second faster at 10 KM which takes about 1 second per km for a HY energy bolt to reach it's target. It's not much of a bonus. I would only consider using this set for such a reason if the speed was increased considerably, and even then I'd be hard pressed to use it over adapted or omega or maco or Jem. Frankly the 2 piece bonus should be switched to 30% plasma torp damage. That would actually be useful. That would probably make me happy with the romulan set despite being nearly identical to reman, because that's just how useless increasing your plasma torp speed really is.
Maybe it's considerably faster with mkxii versions, but it's slow as dirt with mkxi blue. Still, I doubt I'll be using these sets over everything else out there. I would love a reason to use reman/romulan. I'll even purchase them. No doubt about it or else I wasted my time getting to tier V. But they'll just sit around collecting dust, so I guess I wasted my time getting to tier V anyways.

Romulan marks are crazy easy to get via epohh breeding, and you can do most of the work to get them while offline. While I wouldn't be sad if the sets were as powerful, to say the journey to tier 5 is equally difficult is not at all true. I got 1300 Romluan marks from the winter epohhs without more then 5-10 mins a day effort, and had I been really serious about it I could have gotten a lot more. How long would it take to get 1300 Borg marks?
You're like a replay of fleet chat. Folks droning on and on -blah-blah-blah- about how easy it is to get RM's if you're JUST willing to play paddy cake with alien rabbits. I don't logon the STO because I want to simulate livestock breeding, and I don't care HOW easy it is.
Cryptic would serve its customer base far better by presenting multiple ways to and end.

I have only tested it with the Romulan Hyper torpedo and they all remain very slow, both normal and HY ones. Does it even work with the hyper torpedo, because the HY ones did not seem to outrun the normal ones?
Also, I think all torpedos from the Romulan launcher should benefit from the bonus as they are basically all just small and big targetable 'HY' torpedos.

I tried to ignore this silly space rabbit hunt when season 7 started because it seemed unfitting for a KDF character, but then I noticed that this is actually the only option to get a decent amount of Romulan Marks. The rewards from Azure Nebula Rescue is laughable in comparison. So I got over it and started tagging some Epohh's *sigh*

Mine Trap and Ensnared during bonus time yield some serious marks.
You call 20-40 marks "Serious"? No. Elite STF's give serious marks. But of the wrong type.
50-60+ for a good mine run, 30-40 for a good ensnared run.
Yeah that's a very respectable amount of income for the time spent, especially compared to the piddly 10 mark payouts on just about every other Rommie related mission.

I get you, but I can't let myself be forced into an activity I don't care for. It would make me hate the game after not too long. This situation was created by Cryptic, which means they need to correct it. The attitude now, for most people I know, is almost like they think they've found an exploit in the game that allows them to get WAY too may RM's for very little effort, which in turn creates a weird environment. You know, like "Uh why isn't everyone taking ADVANTAGE of this??? It's just SO easy and it only takes 1 second a day, and BLAH-BLAH-BLAH..."
I don't mind a reasonable grind, obviously, but it NEEDS to at least approach being enjoyable to me.
What would be fun is if there was a STF difficulty one for 5 players of something sort of like colliseum for melee lovers So the difficulty would be able to get the rewards in its own right Is just a lot of things lacking there and slap them all together and wallah

I just pretend it never happened. Chasing space rabbits on lush green fields was all just a bad dream of my character. Also, I'm done with the Romulan reputation system and I got all items I wanted. Nothing will get me back to New Romulus, except the embassy.
Still, I support the idea of implementing some STF-like mission for RM, with the same level of difficulty and rewards, just for the sake of sparing others the pain of epohh-tagging.
Remember, someone over at Cryptic has it in their head that STO is an MMO that theoretically should be played in groups with actual live players, and all the fun/grief that this entails... Something you wouldn't necessarily think from playing all the levelling missions... :P
Thusly, the sets that come from "grouped" content - Omega marks are nigh-impossible to earn "solo", the only place I can think of that gives solo Omega marks is if you repeatedly grind the Defera easies - gives the "best" sets of the game.
Rommie marks come from primarily solo content - Vault, Tholian Alert, Azure Nebula, Mine Trap are the only places (off the top of my head) that require grouped play, everything else can be tackled solo - Space exploration daily, ground explorations, heck, even Epohh tagging can be soloed.
Thusly, the Rommie sets are on a par with JH - Aegis - Breen, all of which come from solo mission (crafting) play, and the "STF"/Omega gear is still the premier torchbearer, a sign that you either power-ground for weeks on end on Defera or put up with your cohorts long enough to earn the stuff...
Personally, the one ground-breaking feature that Omega gear has over the rest is the speed-limit breaking feature from MACO/Borg engines - I ran a handful of normal STFs on my KDF Sci in Aegis and haven't felt a killer pinch, and early tests of the JH set on my Fed Engie's Breen ship has indicated that it'll survive quite nicely for a bit till I grind up enough rep for him to score a set of MACO Mk Xs, if I even bother to nab them, as the polaron bonus of JH helps his offense quite a bit...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

I'd be happy right now if they would just exchange this reman purple xii engine I got from doing the romulan engine project LOL. Put in a bug report and a GM request but nothing yet no that but odds are even though its considerable resources being pumped into it thus the 750 romulan marks and 32k dilithium they probally will just tell me to regrind it even tho its no fault of my own.

I investigated this bug report personally and found no data to support it being possible. Our data structure doesn't allow one project to grant the reward for a different one, and all of the appropriate rewards are properly in place for these projects, and have been since the launch of Season 7.
The only conclusion I can draw is that the incorrect project was chosen, and the spelling difference between "Romulan" and "Reman" wasn't recognized at any point along the way.

My only beef with the above train of thought is that since Romulan sets are on the same level as the Breen and JH sets, they should cost the same as well. Now, the wiki doesn't have the info, and I'm not up to that REP level, but I believe that you still have to pay dilithium for this. Dilithium is what you pay for end game gear, like the Omega/STF sets. It should not be both ways. It should either be a free/mostly free grind for an okay not-quite end game set, or it should be like the STF sets, you have to pay dilithium, but tis the same level as the STFs sets themselves. At the most, it should cost what the Aegis does to craft, 45,360 dilithium during crafting time for the set. Again, I haven't gotten to that level in the rep system, so I don't know to costs.

I did the Romulan Shield one running at the same time and I am pretty darn sure with the amount of romulan marks I put into it I would have noticed it being reman but I could be mistaken. They do look very very similar on the project window too and I thought the shield one would give me a reman one too but the problem I had like this with DS9 vendor last year where this happened but I do except those are two very different systems but this sort of thing has happened before. The main gripe I have though if I was wrong or right the vast amount of missions either solo or grouped/que plus its 4 days worth of dilithium refining of the maximum amount per day plus those 750 romulan marks that there should be a way to get the item I was intending to get. Anyways these other posts about it looking similar and not disagreeing that I could have made a mistake that it should be made be more clear to whoever is wanting to get the item. On another note though all the dissatisfaction with the set which I don't see any and kind of funny I'm the only one who really has said anything positive about it and might be only person even trying to get it LOL.
Anyways thanks for your time atleast
Edit: About to do 3rd part I was doing with the set which I have confirmed is Romulan Deflector anyways if that one does as states is pretty much evidence that I just misread but does look so similar anyone needing to be asleep instead of playing STO could have made the same mistake LOL (One thing that would really help other than making them look a lot different to stop this from happening again is putting in a project log like doff missions do so I can see if it really my fault or not which the time to put one in would save a lot of time on stuff that might or cannot be duplicated .
Edit #2: Okay yeah I must have fowled up because now I have Romulan XII Deflector and Shield and a Reman Engine Blah...

32K Dilithium/4 days refinement cap for non LTS... Yeah Its worth it but at the point in my posts were and what everyone was saying though its too similar and even I could have or did make the mistake of getting hit hard on that with no help with the problem as far as getting what I intended
