Gigabyte Patch Again!!!

I really can't begin to tell you how much I appreciated yet another gigabyte patch...primarily because the appropriate words would violate a number of forum rules here.

Have you missed several updates? Because there is no way this was a full GB update, I had it downloaded and patched in less than three minutes.

My internet is quick but it's not near GB per minute quick.

I haven't missed any patches and had a 1.5gb patch this afternoon.

It's no big deal as it only took 20 minutes or so to download. I don't mind large patches.

All I know is that people who rage about large patches need to get better internet.

I mean Christ. 15 meg connections are pretty basic these days..

Maybe you have turned off "On Demand" patching, which can be found under the Tolls option of the game launcher?

If you don't want regular patches, maybe an MMO isn't for you

Global average speed is 12.7 according to speedtest :P

It all depends where you live. Here in North Wales we've only had broadband for about 4 years, fiber-optic and the like is still waaaaaay in the distance time-wise. Current estimated line speed for us is only 8Mb. There are people on SpeedWave (internet epeen comparisons :D) getting a download speed of 950+ Mb/s...

You know what, though. I'm happy with what we have. So what that it might take me 10 minutes to download something others can download in 2-3 minutes. Set up the download, and go and do something else for a few minutes.

But then, I remember 56kbit dial-up. Fun times, starting a download at night and getting up the next morning to a download that's STILL not finished.

Thanks to my 35/35, I didn even notice the patch... was there a patch?
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

I live way up in the mountains. The only broadband here is satellite. That means that I'm stuck with a monthly bandwidth cap. I have more than enough speed, but a gigabyte download is a huge chunk of my monthly allotment gone in one day. Once I hit that, they throttle me down to near dialup.

I have enough trouble justifying the money I already spend broadband and computer upgrades.
