You know what the problem with you is hippiejon? You think that every mission you Foundry authors make is pure gold.I'm not saying that there aren't good missions out there, but you have to admit that most of the missions are too long, tedious, badly written utter garbage.
You want to be acknowledged as a Foundry author? Stop making POS missions!
So, why do I have to admit this ?
How does this latest strange ragey post of yours make it any better that your response to losing your exploit clicky mission is an approach that attacks another part of the community as you have done again here.
You're reply boils down to. "Whaaa, I didn't get what I want. I'm going to go kick their sandcastle."
It's childish, it's immature, and you continue to make yourself look worse everytime you try and support your hateful nonsense.
and for the record.
No, I do not think that every word the Foundry authors write is pure gold.
What I think is that the Foundry is there for a group of our player community who enjoys it for what it is , and would play it with or without any incentive of Dil or Marks. You are not one of those players. You do not enjoy the Foundry. Here's an idea. Don't use it.
But to say that because you can't use it in some exploitable way anymore, that the solution is to burn it down and get rid of it. That's just hateful, mean and downright unfriendly.
Like I said above. You're obviously a really great guy.
You did say you were sorry before you started your hateful series of diatribes against an entire portion of the player community.
Convoluted logic that proves the OP works for PWE? After all, they would all love to claim 'All your wallet are belong to us'
I was just pointing out the way the title would be written given the post I quoted. I think you're reading subtext that isn't there, or it's me that is not getting your humor.
I'll sell you some weapons from New Romulus. Never fired, only dropped once.
Agreed. The reward does seem to be better, but because of that random factor I don't see why you can say you rely on these factors when making your '8k Dil in 30 mins' claim. Sure, sometimes, when all the odds go in your favour ("May the odds be ever in your favour" lol), I can see it happening, but not every day.
So what it really comes down to is, do I really just run 2 STFs a day ?
No.
I run 2 STFs, and then I probably run some more, so there is kind of always a stock of Omega marks to be ground up. I say an average of 30 minutes. Not a guarentee.
Maybe it takes you 3 runs to get what you need.
I am very surprised at the low # of marks you report getting.
I never really compare and contrast, but honestly, I have never seen less than 90.
usually more than 100 during Rep Hours, if I happen to be on during one.
It's pretty random. It's when you are getting extra Dilithium in your reward bag instead of a blue item or 2. Just this morning before the downtime my bag had 1090 in it froma Khittomer ground run.
Nope, still happening. 11 in a different run this morning. Again, appears to be somewhat random, but might be connected to what's in your bag. Not sure.
I have never seen an Elite give less than 90 Marks.
There should be. Every time I am lucky enough to be in a group that hits an optional, I am always smiling at the amount of Marks. Your overall reward is better with an Optional completion I am sure of that.
Well, Elites give more marks overall. But note that ground missions give more marks (and possibly more dilithium, explaining the 'random' extra dilithium?), as stated by Brandon a few dozen posts back. Patch notes from early Tribble builds also state that there is a 25% increase in the amount of marks given for doing the optional. (somewhere around 25%, anyway)
The thing with every Season since F2P is that with every piece added, they are taking things away, and giving it back to us at a price....so yeah, people complain...because it gets worse with every Season.
The reason for my response to neoakiraii post......the guy is a troll,he does this in every thread.
How is he a troll for stating the truth? The post I mentioned in my post did in fact follow the pattern you just said.
You know what the problem with you is hippiejon? You think that every mission you Foundry authors make is pure gold.I'm not saying that there aren't good missions out there, but you have to admit that most of the missions are too long, tedious, badly written utter garbage.

You're right that there's a lot of junk out there, but that's the same anywhere. There's a lot of TRIBBLE books out there, same thing goes for movies, plays, games... ANYTHING. Why do you expect the Foundry to be any different?
I want to be acknowledged as a Foundry author (I think.), but I understand that my missions are unlikely to be anything better than above average (if you assume "average" means "bad").
In terms of school grades, I don't expect anything better than a C. Or a B-. It's even possible that I'm not even worthy of a D, but just don't see it. But will it stop me from making stories? Absolutely not, because for every 1000 people that hate my mission, there's going to be anywhere from 1 to 1 000 000 people who love it, and there's also the factor of having fun while making it. Me, I'd have a lot more fun if I could get my friend to play STO so we could tie up this loose end of an RP storyline and be done with it, but that's another story.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
I feel the community is at it's strongest, and there's a whole heap of end-game content. So there's always something to be doing or getting involved with.
I was just pointing out the way the title would be written given the post I quoted. I think you're reading subtext that isn't there, or it's me that is not getting your humor.
It is my sense of humour. There was no subtext read, I just coupled your comment of 'All your wallets are belong to us' with all the posts on these forums complaining that PWE/Cryptic don't seem to be interested in running STO as much as they are just trying to milk everyone of their hard earned cash.
Parts of this game are relatively amusing for me, other parts not so much.
Space combat and an hour or two of mindless pew pew can be amusing and cathartic after a long work day. This is usually punctuated by the clicky clicky of DOFF missions, merching all the junk that I pick up in space combat, and contributing to fleet projects when I have the stuff.
Ground combat is something that I try to avoid. It is sluggish, ultra linear and simple, with mechanics that harken back to games at least a decade old (bad ones at that).
I won't mention the epic grind or the P2W structure. I'm not in competition with anyone, nor do I have a "I must be the first kid on the block to have the new shiny" mentality; so, I just pew pew and clicky clicky at my own pace.
If there was another quick pew pew space genre MMO, I would most likely ditch STO. For now, however, STO is an amusing cutaway from the more advanced fantasy MMO that I play.
After all, this game is 100% free for me ... so what's to lose?
2/10 ground combat
8/10 space combat
4/10 clicky clicky content
I always can find something fun to do in the game. Foundry, Missions, whatever! Personally I just like being able to fly whatever ships I want, with whatever captains I want and explore my own little piece of Trek history.
Season 6 : 5/10 (getting boared of doing the same borg stf again and again, and nothing else, cause there was only stf worth to play)
Season 7 : 9.5/10 (it can't be perfect, nothing can, but hey ! Now i have a ton of things to do, New Romulus things, of cours, but also all the old stuff like explo, fleet action etc... now that feet action haven't anymore unballanced rewards, everything in the game worth the playtime, and that's great. In addition, now I have to actually play the game in order to optain the best stuff i want
And finally, if I sometimes didn't have fun to play sto, I just don't (but thats very rare since Season 7)

It depends on how you define "Fun," my idea of "FUN" may differ from yours. I think this thread should be renamed - "Is season 7 a positive change to STO?"
Note:
-1. Fun for me is blowing up other players in my KDF BoP
-2. Fun for me is creating new toons and giving them a bio - often using other popular shows, book characters, lore, popular commerical actors or actress etc... to enhance my fiun factor.
-3. I love naming my ships after historical figures, other popular television shows, historical ships etc...
-4. I have fun with my fleet mates and STO friends - we crack jokes, play STF's together, help build our Fleet starbases etc..
-5. I enjoy all the new ships that CRYPTIC puts out, even if I consider some PUGLY, and with soo many toons I at times give a toon or two one of those PUGLY vessels.
-6. I enjoy Accolade hunting with friends
-7. As critical as I am about CRYPTIC's storytelling, there are some good ones in the episode list, like "Alpha," "Doomsday," "Stranded," many of the Romulan mission episodes, and the Reman FE, Devidian FE, and even the Breen FE - all well done. The 2800 FE had some issues, but for the most part it was decent.
-8. The foundry - works from people like captainrevo keep me entertain - there are really good ones out there. try "Good Intentions Part I & II." "Left for dead," "Sins of the Son," etc... there are far too many to mention - but there are some very talented and really gifted people out there that makes the foundry an enjoyable experience.
-9. Some of season 7 features are not really that bad, they just need to be tuned and cater towards being player friendly.
"Am I having fun in the game?" - Truthfully, not a lot at present, which is why I'm not logging on very often these days. I'll be logging on to do Q's daily race, not because I expect it to be fun but because I don't want to get left out and not have the new ship.
At this moment my main reason for sticking around is because having been here for nearly three years, I feel like I've got a commitment of time and effort in the game and that if I leave now and they ever/I] get around to fixing the bits that need fixing, I may find I've been left too far behind because of not being around to do the grinding.
STO for me now is more like work than play and I've already got a full time job, which pays much better than STO, so not finding it fun at present.

I personally find New Romulus and its content to be relaxing, something I can solo at my leisure, and I can pursue completion of missions/assignments in the way I'm more interested in (ie, if I feel like combat, that's there, but if not, there's other things I can do). I love the ground alerts as well, plus its nice to see how cooperative people have been down there.
edit: And, really, I feel like I've got a reason to go along with my fleeties now. Usually I bow out of any of the Task Forces and such, but the Reputation System is far more appealing to me than the usual "pray for drops."
My blog! Zen|Dilithium tracking on Thursdays http://samonmaui.blogspot.com As a lifetime member of STO, I officially became a financial liability as of April 2012 when compared to a subscriber.
My fleet Excellsior could keep me happy for another 6 months, Q's winter Land and Frosty on Magic Hat Steroids is an added bonus! The Team outdid themselves!
And yes, there are bugs, but they are there with any evolving mmo.

Its a worrying trend isn't it? The game is getting steadily worse with each season release - more bugs, more grind, less story, LESS FUN.
