Hoping these updates find their way to Holodeck quickly - Originally I surmised that the 40 hour project timers were based on allowing 1 day for personal reputation and then 1 day for fleet building, but I do like the decrease.
Continue the great work - glad it would be much longer that I have to say i'm in my shuttle - while I'm flying a Chimera.
Good to see how STO values it's 1000+ day players. And for the record if it was not so absurdly poorly designed to allow the aforementioned (redacted issue) to occur, you'd have a lot less work to do BranFlakes.
i can kinda see why they nerfed it at the same time they could make it better. what would work in my opinion is that they like the STF dilith cut it from where it once was either that or replace it with a green or better drop.
correct good sir however they could have made it something else other than fleet marks. i am also eternaly thankful these long cooldown times for the rep system is getting adressed.
This will leave FA's a wasteland? Hang on a sec, let me count some stuff.
Right now there are:
5 Starbase 24's
3 Gorn Minefields
1 Breaking the Planet with 16/20 people (declining, mission may have stalled out)
2 Klingon Scout Force
1 Big Dig with 5/20 people (building, but still on the second objective without hitting double digits)
12 fleet actions running concurrently before peak hours, only half of which have a daily attached at all, and today's daily is the least active of all 12.
Taking away something that only affects the least active will definitely destroy the other eleven. Yep, your logic sure does check out.
We will be bringing the Tribble server down for maintenance to apply a new update.
ST.25.20121026a.28
General:
The daily fleet action mission now grant Fleet Marks instead of Dilithium.
Now Fleet Actions WILL be a deserted wasteland, especially since you nerfed the previous 1400 Dilithium per completion into oblivion, and now removing Dilithium from the daily.
2. Keep current Daily Dilithium Reward + Add Fleet Marks to indiviudal Fleet Action "completion"
Why the total removal of yet another Dilithium source? Seeing as Dilithium was removed from a previous source, caused a major negative backlash, I thought you guys/girls/donkeys and what not, would've learnt your lesson.
I'd like some honest clarification from the devs, why it was necessary to remove yet another Dilithium source, without first "consulting" the playerbase.
As for the part regarding reducing Tier 1 progression time from 40h to 20h, seems kinda moot at this point. Most "main" characters is likely to have already progressed into Tier 1 (and well on their way to Tier 2) by now. Seems to me that the Tier 1 progression times should've been lowered from the start, before launching the system.
Duration of all T1 and T2 Reputation XP projects has been reduced from 40 hours to 20 hours.

So, after we get to Tier 3, we're back where we started with the 40 hours? Still not good enough, they need to go back and change it to 20 hours for all of the Tiers to make it uniformed, fair for the players, and more fun. Waiting for 2 days on every single stupid project is just...mind numbing. That's the best I can come up with, with the censorship that happens on this forum.

figured the daily double dip was going to be addressed soon...
Still - without having to sneak around to gather these 4 pick it plants, runabouts, minerals, etc. more effort into killing enemies faster. = Quicker in and out of the fleet actions.
Can you look into something? The Klingon Scout Force - seems to take forever for the ships to appear in the first wave, and yet in the Gorn minefield they are everywhere, and if you die you're back at the beginning - good luck getting through to the end. Just an observation - maybe it's just me.
can the klinks get access to some fleet actions? running the fed minefield one over and over and over again is bleh. reconstitute sb 24 from the pov of the klingons trying to fend of federation reinforcements. make it like the no win scenerio with waves of incoming feds.
i'm pretty sure there are other ways to re-use TRIBBLE that would give the klinks more options. how about like the klingon scout force? you can have a large scale federation survey team and we can ambush them and then fend off reinforcements as theyre being sent in.

easy way to get around the gorn minefield spawn ambush --> max power to engines, evasive and fly up and over everyone to the next area.

I can agree with this. There is only 1 KDF space FA
I've updated the patch notes. The dailies will now grant 50 Fleet Marks.
Thanks.
As a suggestion, perhaps their should be an individual daily attached to each fleet action. so instead of one that cycles through them, each has its own and they are up every day?
with 5 fleet actions that would be potentially 250 marks. that could be a real god send to smaller fleets. larger fleets usually have enough anyway so having a few extra wont make a huge difference.

Your argument/logic is flawed, since it's based on the current Holodeck build. Once this Tribble build goes live, and the Daily reward is removed, THEN you can use your argument to counter mine. Until then, I stick by my convictions, in suggesting that Fleet Actions will become an even greater wasteland than it currently is.
By your own numbers;
5 Starbase 24's = 5 x 20 players = 100 players
3 Gorn Minefields = 3 x 20 players = 60 players
1 Breaking the Planet with 16/20 people
2 Klingon Scout Force = 2 x 20 players = 40 players
1 Big Dig with 5/20 people
What happened to all those "Big numbers" of F2P players, Cryptic? By my count, this list above shows fewer than 250 people either in a Fleet Action, or queued for one. Granted, it's no longer the "best" source for Dilithium, but still.

Well, thank you for that, it will help somewhat with the EC drain when there is no direct source available. But what about the T3 through T5 projects, or the unlocks, which I believe are also 40 hours. Will those get a change now, or later when people start to complain? Sorry if this is comming off as a bit twitty, but why only change the T1-T2 tiers? And why not change the T zero tiers, unless I am not understanding you as to what tiers are changing? Sure, it won't help current players, but future players will still have to deal with it.

Woot! yay!
Not only no patrols for the foundry, but a removal of a dilithium source.
Are they trying to get even more zen out of us.
Well there goes ANOTHER source of Dilithium...
Raptr profile
*sigh* Never gonna learn, are they?

Well that's somewhat of a mixed bag. Yay for more fleet marks but kinda bummed about another dilithium source going.
No chance of awarding both here? Do we know how much the fleet mark reward will be?
EDIT: Do like the reduced duration for rep projects. It's gonna be ignored though because people are gonna be upset about losing dilitihum.

3 years ago I left other mmo's to play this game, because it didn't have any real grind.
Now bit by bit that has been stripped away, leaving a hollow dil grind.:(
.........the DAILY!
Scan 4 shuttles / scan 4 flowers etc. !
NOT the per run rewards.
right?
Why not remove dilithium from the game completely and just charge zen for everything? Because clearly that's what you're getting at here...

Correct -- the missions that Yanishev and B'Mera grant.
NOT the individual Fleet Actions themselves.
Now Fleet Actions WILL be a deserted wasteland, especially since you nerfed the previous 1400 Dilithium per completion into oblivion, and now removing Dilithium from the daily.
Here are two potential solutions;
1. Increase Daily Dilithium Reward + Add Fleet Marks + Reduce individual Fleet Action "completion" further.
