After a round of opening Doff packs and Lockboxes with a bit of spare change I checked my bank and realized that I have nearly 600 Lobi Crystals sitting around, doing nothing.
I don't plan to spend the crystals on getting one of the ships (Recluse or Mobius) since I'm coming up on making the price of a lockbox ship in EC, so I'm wondering what to spend all them crystals on. And with the Vesta recently released and the Temporal lockboxes still in full swing I doubt they'll be releasing anything so desirable I'd want to hold onto all my Lobi.
So! Starfleet Command compels you: Help a player spend his crystals!

For the record, I already have the Tholian Sword, and I'm not interested in any of the ships. I've got an Engineer main, and usually fly escorts, though I'm currently spending my time in a Science Vesta and a Chimera. I'm also willing to wait to complete a set if the bonuses are worthwhile.
Any suggestions? I'm eyeing the Temporal Set (tachyokinetic converter, chroniton beam bank, temporal torpedo) or the Ferengi Set, but that Photonic Boff looks pretty cool, too.

For other things go visit the exchange - ships, boffs, pets - you name it, it's all there, often really cheap.
Temporal set is really neat on temporal ships. The 3-piece special ability reduces ALL cooldowns (both player's and boff's), making you a real killing machine.
If not the whole set, then definitely Rule 62 and Tachyokinetic Converter consoles. Both really useful, especially the latter for something like the Vesta.
Outfits, buy em off the exchange if you want em badly.
Consumables, buy them off the exchange as well, but they are useful for PvP or STFs, especially the Team Combat Modules for ground STFs.
The Gambling Device is a rather unique tribble-esque buff, so I recommend it in general.
The other weapons are unique toys, but far from being that useful, though the Energy Whip can be very fun, and the electrical damage it does is not found on many other things in the game.
I have the D'kora and Ferengi set, and the bonuses from that are all non-combat based. The pieces aren't bad though: Missiles do little damage, but fire extremely fast. The tachyon mines are great shield strippers and can be used with mine abilities. The console is pretty much there to buff the previous two items (but does buff any torps, mines, and any skill using Flow capacitors). 'A Lifetime of Experience' bonus from the set is probably the best set bonus, giving you a 10% CXP bonus while equipped and in space.
I don't have the temporal set or anything, so I can't say much on it.
The pets, just buy them off the exchange as well.
Miser's Delight and Golden Knowledge are nice to help remember your 'inner Ferengi'. The Golden Knowledge is rather funny with the voice acting and everything, but if you just wanna read em, Miser's Delight will work too, aside from that, no need to buy them.
Photonic tactical is really a good BOFF. With the photonic science and android engineer, you can have a REALLY tough away mission team.
when i first read the title of your post i was going to recommend a ship. you can keep it or sell it for a nice price.
just my opinion, but i regret wasting my lobi on the temporal set. it is just not that great. photonics officers are less than impressive too.
my advice would be to hang on to it and see what may develop later. i wish i had.
and i am totally done with lockboxes and lobi.
The console alone is great to have, as it buffs your turn-rate, criticals and particle generator skill (good for ships with slow/holds, such as gravity well). The beam bank is nothing that special, but provides decent DBB dps, while the torpedo is like a weaker version of tricobalt device - slow moving and destructible, but can deal nice amount of damage and has 20 sec cooldown (7 when used with the 3-piece ability). Now it's also buffed by 2-piece set bonus.
In the end, I am able to solo a borg cube in any STF way faster in my Mobius + temporal set than with full-dps Fleet Defiant.
However, I can't say I would use the whole set on anything other than the temporal ships. It's main asset is the 3-piece cooldown reduction ability. It doesn't really affect enemies all that much.
So as I've said - if anything, get at least the console. If you're flying a temporal ship, then consider the whole set.
i agree that the beam bank is nothing special, although once in a great while it does get a great critical hit.
i was clueless when i first selected my abilitiies and they actually are not bad selections. i am planning a respec soon and that may make a difference. i wanted to save my respecs until i had a really good idea of what i needed.
still new to the mobius too and i have been looking for the right mix of weapons and shields.
i just expected a little more from the set.
I've been getting 10k to 12k each time it hits, and at that range it very, very rarely gets shot down.
Charge in using beam weapons and shield stripping powers, then at the last minute turn away, hit a Torp HY power (I use HY-II) and fire it off...
It may not always be a complete kill, but there's usually not much left to mop up on a second run.
Best advice ever: just buy 300 Miser's delight
