Well, given that they've hinted at its release before season 8, we should be seeing a lot of them cruising the space lanes sooner than later. The only caveat is that if they make it a "free" ship, it will likely suck itself into immediate obsolescence.

I think the Amb class is the perfect size and covered with enough shiny bits to be the sci heavy cruiser.

My thoughts are these

The cryptic holy trinity I'n this game is a failure
They know it

We have escorts upon escorts, many new science
Choices

Cryptic knows pvp is a finical unbalanced failure
I'n There game

The one thing we don't have is a cruiser with
Teeth a battleship

We have thousands of cruiser players wanting a
Tactical cruiser

If they want to make money that's what it will be
If it's another Eng cruiser sales will be avg/poor to
What they could be a vanity ship like the galaxy

This would out sell any other c-store ship I bet

A cruiser with escort firepower
Escort healing limited engineering
Slow like a cruiser turn like a cruiser
Lots of armor and resistances

It's what isn't I'n the game
And what a LOT of people want

And yes I'm running 3 escorts and no a ship like
That doesn't threaten me

I could see the Ambassador being the first Cruiser with a dedicated LTC Sci station, with more shielding then the Galaxy and more Hull then the Nebula, and manuverability somewhere between, without being too extreme.

That's right, but you missed something:

CBS said "U.S.S. Enteprise", like I wrote in the post you quoted.
The NX-01 was not called "U.S.S. Enteprise", only "Enterprise".
