The room you are refering to was the old Officer's Lounge. The Classified Access Codes is for accessing the Captain's Table.

BTW, you can still visit the room in the Old ESD model that's saved in the Foundry, along with the old Shipyard area.
After poking around in foundry.... I managed to find 4 "hidden" rooms in the old ESD.

the shipyard, the private club, a room similar to the admiral's office in SB39, and the transporter room. I don't remember if the old medical area was liek that, but IIRC Quinn's office was.

The Galaxy-class was built on the surface of Mars.

Seem to remember in the next gen tech manual that the galaxy class was unsuitable for atmospheric because the SIF couldn't handle it. could be wrong and i'll admit that :)

I'm just throwing it out there but wasn't that pic shown in that TNG episode "parallels" in a parallel reality? you could argue if you wanted its not like that in the prime universe for example this looks a lot like a space dock to me

On toptic the first shipyard map should be used again the the fleet starbase i always had a fondness for that room

    Ah fond memories...

As others have said, that was the old, but not old-old shipyard. Before we got the stunning observation lounge yard. Would be interested to see the old-old one from beta if anyone has pics.

The 'lifers room' wasn't a lifers room, it was the upper lounge of the old Club 47, it featured a figure 'S' sofa and lots of windows looking out into Sol.

Admiral Quinn's old office is now Admiral T'Naes' office on Starbase 39.

If I remember correctly, prior to the ESD revamp by Q for the anniversary, ESD didnt have a Sickbay/medical facility. I also cant recall ESD having a transporter pad/room prior to the revamp.

But its been many sleeps, facepalms, and head-desks since then, so my memory may be a little fuzzy. :P

the injury system didn't come in until season 2 .....???? and the doctor just treated you in the fleet ambassador's area. no pad either you just beamed into the fountain area outside admiral Quinn's office. ah memories

That's exactly what it was, that was Quinn's original office. The turbolift by his office took you there. Cryptic reused it for SB39's Admirals Office.

And there was no Transporter Room until the 1 year revamp.

The Medical Office (when the Injury System went in) was that Kiosk at the end of the Administration Room. (Glad they did, felt stupid being treated at a Kiosk. )

Flying in the Atmosphere in sustained flight and being built on the surface, then launched from it, it are two seperate issues.

That's interesting because there IS a transporter pad location in the old ESD Foundry map, but it's a 'hidden' room with no connection to the main part of the map. See: http://marhawkman.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d5kaxsg

As you can see from the minimap, it's located under the floor in the area that used to be the beam in point.

Thanks for clearing up the officer's lounge in club 47. I seem to have that tied to memory with the access codes for some reason though...

One of the main complaints in beta and upon release was the lack of difficulty, and the injury system was meant to remedy that (though I'm not sure how it works out today with rewards).
Do you still have to restock crew when they die on hard mode? I assume not since they die/disable so fast now.

I think I might go look up my "Data loves the beta" avatar for nostalgia's sake.

The Transporter Room, I did not know or long forgotten.

Guess they were experimenting prior to the ESD revamp and abandoned it (which is good, the current verison is far better).

No, the abadoned that a very long time ago. The closest thing we got to now is DOFFs dying on missions. And in space battle, they eventually restore after a while.

Guess I'll no longer have to open a window!

So you've said some of these places exist on foundry but do they still exist out of foundry? Guess we'll have to put on environmental suits and go clean some windows to find out.

You know, I think the Team should repurpose the Old Shipyard Room.

    Option 1: New Club 47

Move Club 47 to here and make a REAL Club 47! Replace the old Starship Holograms and put in circular tables with some empty for players, and some full of interactable NPCs. (Perhaps one could be a smuggler with a panach of having the fastest civilian freighter on this side of the Alpha Quadrant. ;))

    Option 2: New Hospital

Turn the area into a real Starbase Hospital than the closest that poor Doctor is currently occupying.

    Option 3: Starbase Armory

Silly Federation sells their goods right there in the open. So why not repurpose this room as the armory.

Since there are Turbolifts all over the place, a player could easily get to this location with ease.

Nope your all wrong what this game needs is guard tapirs!

Starfleet has numerous shipyards. While the Galaxy and Defiant classes were constructed at Utopia Planitia, we also know that the Constitution was constructed at San Francisco Fleet Yards, Earth. Though, not on the ground like in Abrams-Trek. That was just stupid. Modules would be constructed on the ground, then lifted to orbit for final assembly.

    Anyway.

Having a shipyard at ESD does make sense and has basis in canon, since this is also where the Excelsior underwent testing and where Kirk & co. receive the Enterprise-A (and subsequently overhaul it). Freely visiting Mars and Utopia Planitia would be nice though, as well as other Terran system destinations like the lunar colonies. Pipe dream wishlist though, as I'm not sure what gameplay utility that would have.

Not to mention that it was conveniently built on ground, in IOWA (It wasn't stated anywhere that it wasn't, and he hadn't decided to take Pike up on his offer yet, so I'm sticking by and saying JJ built the ConnieBash in Iowa), so we could have that Kirk-staring-at-his-future scene.
