Performace in Fullscreen mode is increased over window maximized and I found a command that speeds up the alt tabbing but I have a AMD (formely ATI) GPU anyone know if I should be okay using this command/what the side effects are.

disable_3d_texture_flush: turns off flushing of 3D textures after device loss. Flush and reload takes longer but fixes problems on ATI and Intel GPUs.

I have an older ATI card and I just tried the command you suggested; it worked amazingly well for me! Flipping back and forth between the game and a browser or the desktop was a breeze. Thank you!

Well, I spoke too soon. While I could continue tabbing back and forth easily, when I return to the game it's in fullscreen only half the time. The other half it reverts back to Window Maximized., without any rhyme or reason as far as I can tell.

alt+enter... aka the "fullscreen / windowed mode" shortcut key...

When I'm actually thinking of it, I'll use windowed maximized mode for alt-tabbing, which is usually when I'm DOffing it, and I'll alt-enter over to fullscreen when I'm going on extended action runs...

The only caveat with this system is that I need to remember to alt-enter back to fullscreen before DOffing/alt tabbing again, or else the game tends to crash...
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...
