Damn pvp! What's up with all these ancient threads in the pvp section? D0 you know the links in these various threads no longer work since forum updates? When are y'all gonna give it up? Dammit she's dead Jim!
I still don't understand how with Accx3 weapons and full tac buff with direct hits from BO2, CRF2 and hy3 I still can't take out certain players in Ker'rat while their shields are down. Certain players whose names begin with Bauk... or moj... or goon of... Yet all they have to do is hit me with a TS3 neutronic with some cheese thrown in while my shields are up and cycling EPtS, EPtE, APO, APD, TT and my ship feels like it's made of paper. Surely a direct hit to hull with a HY3 should at least bring someone down to 20-30% not 90%.
I know these "certain players" are known for using the most broken builds imaginable but before DR there was a disadvantage to focusing on cheese. They'd only be in a fight for 30 seconds every 2 minutes and then they'd run.
HY's damage heavily depends on your torpedo; atm there are not many good options (terran, bio, neutro). As well, you need debuffs. Many debuffs: 70-80% resistance have become common, then there are dodge things and so on.
As you mentioned neutro TS3 - why not use this? It has a guaranteed 100% chance to hit and the damage is not bad either)
I have the phased quantum and neutronic, I interchange them depending on mood. That's the thing though, a clean HY3 hit on hull should be devastating on an escort, even more so on pilot ships. A TS3 on me with a neutronic while my shields are up and resist will take me down to 50%. I don't use spread because I don't want to rely on a skill because it can guarantee something, if I go that far I might as well start minmaxing and fall to the dregs of society. Look at all the DPSers that are useless now because FAW and embassy consoles have been nerfed. Or the FAW escort players that are dying left right and centre because they can't pilot a ship in PvP properly. I speed and resistance tank almost as fast as the aforementioned players and yet it means nothing against them even though I use fleet resilient with 2 fleet neutroniums.

I'm just not sure what I need to be looking for- as Tac/escort and sci/torp boat aren't really an option for the toon I'm working on.
Got any suggestions for a sci in an escort that doesn't involve torps , for mainly PvP ?
