Was it Dev Hilbert? I hear he has been telling all kinds of people all kinds of things, and that has created quite a little lemming following for him, especially in Kerrat.
(That was awesome when Hilbert warped in and confronted one of his "Dev Hilbert Followers"......next thing you know, they will be starting up the Church of Hilbert-ology!! Someone call Tom Cruise and tell him he has a new home!!)
The OP is calling for bans from Cryptic because he believes he has proof that said players he has been reporting are using Voldimorts, or some form of out side program "hacking"..
And he's using the Unknown Entity as his proof that people have been using said programs to hack the game and gain an unfair advantage. Yet he's not proving this with Youtube data, log file + ACT info, or even screenshots. (Typically the most valid forms of proof of something being fishy) And yet to back up his claims that he is seeing cheating.. he's also setting an open challange..
With proof like that, we all must be hackers..
You think that your beta test was bad?
Think about this: American Football has been in open beta for 144 years. ~Kotaku
First: I don't believe that there is any cheating going on in pvp, but I'm willing to investigate it if someone has serious data that points towards weird behaviour. Maybe my my own log files can help to find patterns.
You mention problems shooting down escorts. Keep in mind that with the current state of the metagame, it is often much more difficult to kill a competent escort than it is to kill a competent cruiser.
One of the things that we need to know to establish whether your claims are credible or simply the result of subpar piloting, is whether you are any good as an escort player. Going by the time of your forum posts, you play in a different timezone than I do, so it is possible that you are a really good player that I have simply never seen.
Do you use ACT? If so, what are your average encounterDPS scores for arenas with net damage (v2010) and raw damage (v1050) plugins? If your values match that of good escorts, it would help establish that it is not your char/ship setup that is to blame.
Have you kept log files of these incidents? I'd very much be interested in taking a look at those.
Isn't unknown entity the label for something you do not see, aka if you are sensor jammed and attacked, the combat log says unknown entity instead the name?
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”

that might explain some things. but not all of it.
nope the most convoluted, unexplainable, no proof anwser is- everyone is cheating but me.
Ye well, the most easiest explanation is frequently the right one. I suspect his team mate was AMSed, and the log recorded the lines from the side of the victim, hence the unknown entity. But hey, I'm just a random noob, what can I know
As for the invicibility "hack". It's not that hard to create a zombie build with some tanking ship like cruiser or sci ship, especially with regenerative shields and high shield dmg reduction.
Always when I see someone bragging about his purple gear and citing his tooltip dps numbers I have that odd feeling in my guts.....

I don't know what it takes to convince you all that I've been tracking a real and serious problem.
Proof, that's all it takes.
- Unknown entity... I've seen that in many logs. I've even seen it in solo pve missions.
- Ships that can't be killed and don't take damage. Usually Bug ships, but also applies to other Escorts. Could be cheating, could be skill.
- Escorts that knock your socks off. Could be cheating, could be skill.
- Impossible skills showing as buffs on ships (EPtoS3 on a Defiant). Could be cheating, could be a HUD issue. We've had quite a few of those.
Really, all i can see from your writing i:
1. "Unknown Entity" is showing up in logs.
2. Someone is tanking better than you thought possible.
3. Someone is dealing more damage than you thought possible.
That does not prove cheating.
That said: I'm sure there IS cheating. If NASA and Google can't protect themselves against hax, how can Cryptic be able to? I am, however, somewhat confident that Cryptic manages to weed out these cheaters as they appear. Some of the best damage dealers and survivors i've seen in STO have been here since launch. If they were cheating, they'd be long gone.

It doesn't matter about us other players. Gather your evidence and submit it to the Devs and let it go.
If there is cheating those responsible will eventually be caught and punished.
This thread is good to spread the word but ultimately unneeded as thier is nothing us players can do about cheating except attempt to control it within our own fleets if or when we see it.
Ok first off...your build and gear are not good enough for pvp.
Secondly, "unknown entity" is displayed during server lag..... its a symptom of "hiccups" within the game connection.
AND lastly- the answer to your question... the guys who were tanking your "totally awesome dps" were cycling epts and TT on keybind with,...<im guessing> rsp and TSS's, the reason they lasted so long was prolly due to the fact that their snb doff's were stripping your buffs. Stop crying HAXXORS! just because someone took the time to read and has a better understanding of the game than you do. Plz read, learn and think before throwing accusations. If we all did that the world would be a much better place.
For a couple of months I have been reporting cheating to the staff here through the Request GM Help menu. So far, no response from the GM's. Completely ignored. Bots, adds and mods have not only gone unpunished as I've encountered the same players and player accounts in pvp over and over again, but the use of these cheat programs seems to be spreading. I have encountered more and more players capable of sustaining over 300k in damage without having to heal. Some of them deliberately flaunting the cheat by letting opponents in a 3v1 (in one instance I was involved in) continuously fire on them for minutes before bothering to engage them. And no, there were no members of their team supporting them with heals.
As a player who owns all Mk XII purple tac consoles on a tac officer in a Jem'Hadar Attack ship and is well educated on skill point distribution, it is apparent that the (unknown entity) in the combat log that is taking damage from players as well as dispatching them, is cheating. (my attempt to assure readers that I am not presenting this issue with knowlege gaps in this game's mechanics).
So the main cheat I've been seeing is the "invincibility." The "God Hammer" cheat is one I am unsure of as of yet. Mainly because on occasion I have critted for close to 100k. And the rest I would feel foolish to mention because I don't have much more than suspicion to go on. But has no one else noticed or submitted a ticket for similar issues happening to them?
My biggest issue is that staff seem to be taking a sideline. The abuse gets reported and the only reply is silence? Is Cryptic/Perfect World looking into this issue as a potential threat to the integrity of our game..., is anyone working in the quality assurance department? Has anyone else sent abuse reports that went unanswered? Have any of you gotten a response if you reported this as an issue? Can we get a response that this is actually an issue? Or even an explanation as to how the conclusion we've come to might be mistaken?
It's hard to believe that the cheating isn't prevalent when the players cheating are running adds that scrub the combat logs of their participation in these pvp matches. But I am willing to accept that I have overlooked something if someone could show me what I've missed.
Not sure about the OP's problem, but what has consistently happened to me is that all my weapons magically stop firing.
I leave the match with 55k damage as opposed to my 700 - 1.2m damage. I also am running 4x MK XI Purple DHC [acc]x3 with the native [acc] modifier on my toon with 5x Purple Tac consoles on a Jem'Hadar.
Afterwards when I parse the logs some of my abilities like CRF III don't even show at all.
Now I understand that there are skills and abilities that can shutdown ones weapons. But this is something completely different. My rate of fire is reduced and inconsistent. The sound effects are intermittent as well and there is a delayed response of a split sec before the weapons try and fire. When the weapons hit, they appear to make absolutely no impression at all, when I know I can blast through the facing shields relatively easy and take at least 25 - 35% hull down as well on any given attack run at a worst case scenario.
APA + APO + APB + CRF III + TAC Fleet + FOMM = still nothing?
Its also not lag as I am rarely affected by that unless I haven't paid my bill!!
I experienced at PvP enough to know when something just doesn't feel normal. Could this be a bug (and not the one I'm in!) perhaps, or doff side effect?
My own intuition has always wondered if this has something to do with the abilities that sometimes don't fire off correctly when pressed.
It's like the AI cannot compute the speed at which I wanna kill stuff...
In Cryptic's defense though, there have been the odd occassion when I have been frantically banging at the key board only to discover the cryptic message below in my chat bar! How did that get there

You need screenshots and a video.
Besides, when you submit a GM ticket involving an incident with another player, dev's have made a point that they will not contact you (the reporter) with the resolution.

What is this about hax?
It's the preview of "Season 8: Hax for Cash!", that will allow you to buy bulk hax from the Z-store!
You only have one officer to do that?
If you like, I can talk to some of my officers I'm sure one or three of them might be able to ...assist you.

It's terrible but easy, and these Borg are way cooler than the mess STO and Voyager left us.
We had a thread back in the day full of screen shots and quotes from "cheaters and victims" alike. It made for some of the best reading.
