It would have to be stated in the event note/pop ups in the game window and in chat that the dev's are their during this event to play the game with the players and not to expect a question and answer session. I have a feeling that in that environment it would be more civil that some people think. I mean you don't want to try and do anything nasty or they can do more than just ban you from chat.

Just out of curiosity I read the terms and conditions for the game and as it turn out you can be terminated from the game at any time without any warning or explaination - just poof your gone - see ya - no recourse because you accepted these terms when signing up. Bet a lot of players don't know that.

I think this may have been tried long ago where they made themselves known online. But generally the devs do play this game occasionally but on their own accounts.

I'm not all that crazy about many of the things that have happened with the game from its inception either...,

...but I most certainly will not let my frustrations and disappointment over a video game dictate how I behave toward another person in my daily life.

Especially someone whom I've never had the pleasure to have actually met.

Perhaps I'm too 'old world' in that regard, but God helps us if that truly does become the 'Norm'.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

It is a challenge not to be rude to someone that you don't respect.

It's not the frustration and dissappointment over a video game,it's the total disrespect he has shown us,the players, the community,on the forums and podcasts over the last 2 years. We are always the 'dumb folk' that don't understand how things work.We are always 'overreacting' when they make a decision that effects us in a negative way.We don't 'spend enough' to make the KDF development worthwhile,so we are to blame for the sorry state the faction is in.We are always 'twisting his words',we should be reading between the lines.Etc,etc,etc.....
The PWE/Cryptic sweatshop...not where the game is made, but where the game is played!

Take back your home, end the grind!

But it's attitudes like yours that will make it worse. I am sure the more time they actually spent with players, playing the game - in a respectful manner - the more they would feel connected to the game and the decisions that they make.

If don't right an event like this could only be a win-win situation.

Sounds nice to say but it's simply not true and it's been proven time and again for years now.

They have repeatedly made it clear they don't value us (one of them openly said this on the forums), don't appreciate our input, and openly disregard our priorities in favor of the things we have repeatedly expressed we don't like.

Respect is a two-way street and while it's nice to be civil, it's clear there's none for us in their actions. We're willing to meet them halfway but I can count on one hand the number of times they've met us, and only after explosive levels of forum outrage.
Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and the players love it! No, seriously! ...Why are you laughing so hard? :(

Then you might as well give up on the game - why would you want to continue playing a game believing that the people making it - hate it and plan to run it into ground? Why do you continue to invest your time?

TRIBBLE devs playing in game. I want a hard hitting double interview with both Dan and Kestral explaining WTF they have done to my favorite franchise and how they plan on earning our trust with the direction of the story in game. No fluffy questions and spin answers. I want real answers! I WANT THE TRUTH!!! They've been handed their own ST show essentially and have totally squandered its story to where no player can remotely take this game's storyline seriously any more. If they want this game to survive, it needs to get its story act together really fast. Im still shocked CBS is allowing this below amateur story writing to represent this IP. I dont want "Oh you'll just have to wait and see" type responses. I want to hear out of their own mouths some direction they are going with this game. Spoil some story outline information. Make us start believing we can take this Prime Universe seriously again.

I can only repeat what I said earlier...

We are talking about a VIDEO GAME here.

And I will reiterate for you...

None of what you just listed, should in any large way determine how one should act, if one where to meet an employee of Cryptic in Real Life...

Other than perhaps to acknowledge that one is a player of the game and have found it ... Lacking.
(which I am more than willing to acknowledge as my current feelings)

Getting all enraged to the point of verbally attacking or going off on some long diatribe bordering on manic, toward a Cryptic employee (no matter what their status in the company) in a Real Life Situation (or even here online) could indicate a possible fundamental problem with ones ability to prioritize what's really important in ones life.

As well as show everybody reading or listening that there might just be, more than a little bit of immaturity involved.

We all know that the game, in many of our views as players, has major and/or minor problems...

But in all honesty, do any of these problems truly affect our daily lives to such an extent, that we delve to find it reasonable to attack and condemn the creators??

While it could on occasion prove to be cathartic...,

...it more than likely just feeds fuel to ones own Ego.

Which, more often than not..., leads to the lowering of ones self-esteem among ones peers.

It seems you misread the meaning of my post, this has nothing to do with the game.

It's the way he talks to us on the forums and podcasts,if he was a 'regular' politician and we were a 'regular' minority,do you think he would be in office for long? (and he is a politician, his position within the company has nothing to do with actual game design)

Would I be rude to Stahl if I met him?I don't know, but the lack of respect he has shown us lowers the threshold,he made it very easy to be rude to him.

Devs would not be allowed to enter the game and communicate in an official capacity.. after the fiasco last year, the PR department has them keep there comments and remarks to themselves. This would include in game, they lost there "speaking privileges" when one or two of them said something they probably should not have off site and on a few times. Plus with a rabid yet extremely disappointed, angry, confused, and constantly betrayed consumer base it would only stir up trouble methinks.

    Yeah, that's right.

If they wanted to talk turkey, they could do this anytime they wanted if they wanted to.
I think the main problem is that they aren't intereseted in it, as long as people are buying their stuff.
