Currently a gold member. What happens when I go back to Free to Play?

Hello I'm fairly new to the game (started playing about 3 weeks ago).

I leveled my Federation Captain to 50 while taking advantage of the Free to Play system and I've enjoyed the game enough that I decided to support the devs by buying a 3 month subscription. Since then I've also started an Orion character for the KDF faction.

So my question is this:

When my 3 months as a gold member are up, assuming I don't sign up for more months, what happens? I'm sure its safe to assume that my monthly allowance of 500 zen will stop, but will my inventory and bank size shrink back down? What if my inventory and bank is already full? What about my Orion chatacter, since when I was on the F2P system I could not play as an Orion... will that character be deleted or will I be forced to change its race?

Thanks in advance! :D

Everything you have now, will remain.

You may experience that your EC cap drops to 10,000,000, but you wont loose any, only freeze untill you are below 10,000,000 again.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

That is, if you don't consider the EC rewards and Exchange sales you would have gained but didn't because of the 'cap' a loss...

You also lose the 'Gold' queue priority in all the STF, so you now have to wait at the back of the line along with all the other 'Silver' players...

Are you sure about that? The only queue priority of which I'm aware is for login.

I remember there was talk about this just before F2P came into effect, as well as a big out-cry on Tribble when it was first tested... Still, it would only be noticeable only if there's a long waiting list to get into the queues, which hasn't been the case for most of the STFs recently...

As far as I know, the only queue priority is for login. That's the only one I've ever seen mentioned, and the only one on the Features Matrix.

To the OP, you can refer to the features matrix to see what will be different for you. As stated before, any thing you have now you won't lose, but you will notice that:

    1. Your EC cap will drop, so if you have more than 10,000 EC, you won't be able to earn more. However, you can purchase the cap extension to prevent this change (for some amount of CP's of course).

    2. You will no longer have priority login when there's an excess of players trying to login.

    3. You will start hearing ads in the Vivox voice chat system (if you haven't disabled it by now).

    4. Your Veteran Rewards timer will no longer tick (though you will keep any rewards you've earned up to the point of when your subscription ends).

    5. You will no longer receive the extra bridge officers / inventory slots (as listed in the features matrix), however any characters that did earn those rewards will keep them.

    6. You will lose one character slot. No characters will be removed, but if you had an unused slot, that slot will no longer be useable at all.

    7. You may lose access to your account-shared inventory slots (I cannot currently confirm this either way), but you should not lose access to the extra inventory / bank slots you've earned so far on each character you have.

    1) 10,000,000 EC

    6) YMMV on this I've gotten mixed answers from all over the joint -- When I first opened my account around launch, I had 3 char slots, that I still had post-F2P when I came back as silver none of which were faction-locked. I got the gold sub for a month to fill out my alts inv/bank/boff slots and went back to silver with no change to this. (NO I did NOT lose this slot when I deleted a toon either. I was able to delete a toon, and still had the extra slot. I did that intentionally to see if I would lose it).

    7) Any slots you have, you keep (including account bank - I went from gold (err.. whatever you want to call it prior to F2P) to silver to gold and back to silver and still have my account bank.

    8) You'll lose your stipend.. but.. meh .. you can earn that in just a few days with the current exchange rates. (As of writing, conversion is 155D > 1Z, so you can get 51Z per toon each day)

This is true for Accounts that were created before F2P came into effect (and are grandfathered into F2P) with 3 mixed character slots...

With F2P, new 'Gold' subscription accounts start with a dedicated Fed, a dedicated KDF and one mixed slot (with KDF access unlocked at Fed character level 25). F2P 'Silver' accounts are limited to one to one dedicated Fed and a dedicated KDF character slot (also unlocked at Fed charcter level 25)

And if the account was created post-F2P, then 'Gold' accounts slot parameters will transition to 'Silver' account parameters when transitioning from 'Gold' to 'Silver' status.

I am a gold that went silver.

    Things you keep..

You keep your bank slots on the characters you have (any newly created characters will not have extra slots)

You will still have the account bank, as i do.

    Things you lose..

    Stipend..

EC wallet capacity... (I purchased the upgrade with zen which is for all toons)

Login priority (not sure on the pve or pvp ques)

Any empty character slots you had...

    Vetran rewards...

    Hope that helps..

    Yeah you're right... it's 10,000,000. Sorry, I misplaced a few decimal places. :D
