I seem to be alone in this conclusion, but 1000 days is a pretty long time.
A dev has already stated that the wells is not going to be a veteran reward. The last ask cryptic also stated the wells and korath would be coming out this month. The veteran reward won't be out until october 11th. It's possible the developers are trying to fool us but I don't think that is the case. I also doubt crytpic would make a science ship the veteran reward. Science is probably the least used class of ships in the game.

Not 100% positive but the Korath could be the first T5 Klingon sci ship if it comes out.

I don't think most KDF players will make it to 1,000 days, so making the only T5 Science Vessel a Vet Reward would seem a little useless.
It's fine if it ends up being a C-Store ship, but as a Vet Reward it's just a slap in the face, IMO.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
And how can you be a Trek fan and not be a time travel fan? Time travel is traditional in Trek. You're not a Trek series until you've messed with time at least once.
Tradition-Mine-TRIBBLE. It's an incredibly lazy plot device that will almost make me disregard any work of fiction outright every time it pops up. RAAAAAAGE! Rant! Curse! Carry on! RAAAAH!!
<Ahem>
Let's just say I got really sick of Voyagers early seasons. Time Travel Police.... Baaaarf....
And now they want to put them in this game..... nothing is sacred.
To refute a plot line that allows for great diversity is to hamper development, and given it's been 2409 in the start trek universe since the game launch doesn't allow for much development, can only do so much in a static time period before it becomes unbelievable and unrealistic. Inputting the code to allow for time progression in the game could be impracticable, there fore what option is left open to the dev to do that will keep the game interesting, keep players coming back and spending money and time, very little.
Not liking time travel in a sci fi game, movie, or tv show, is similar to not liking air or water, just like we need both of those to live, sci fi needs certain aspects to thrive and keep being interesting.
That said, to much of 1 thing is just as bad as not enough.
Personally I would rather see the time ships a vet reward...less of a chance seeing a lot of people flying around in those time ships.
They already confirmed they won't be vet ships, so it's either lock boc or C-store. I would prefer c-store as they are account wide unlocks, but my betting is they will be the prize in the next lock box coming in a week

That is just short-sightedness by Cryptic, but there is not a lot of love for science vessels even on the Federation side. Science is the lost class. It became useless in a game redesigned solely around dps.

I thought for sure i heard lots of KDF fans complaining that there was no real Klingon sci ship.

Federation has a lot of nice science vessels, science science, tac science, engineer science. We have none to speak of...closest thing to science we have is a voquv...which is a whale of a carrier and not really very science like.

*coughVARANUScough*
I happen to love my Varanus; the only thing wrong with it is the Orb Weaver. The Varanus was obsolete the day the Orb Weaver arrived, since DPS > science abilities, and the Orb Weaver has more tac consoles and a Lt. Com tactical officer slot.
Now, my sci flies a Recluse, and I realized he's far more effective without even bothering to use science abilities...so he doesn't.
Long story short, I stopped caring about the lack of any KDF fleet science vessels; I won't care until offensive science powers are useful enough to warrant bringing a science ship to elite STF's. All you can really do is push back the probes and BoP's, which everyone else can do without a science ship...and they don't need to, since they can kill them fast enough that holds/repels are irrelevant.
Its xmas and the next lockbox is an escort folks... expect it to be from the race of smurf ant people.
I'm also betting my money on an escort in a box. We had the orb as a sci (and the recluse for that reason), previously we had the +1 cruisers and the mirror ones. So it's either a bug resale either a new escort. Any other bets, lol?

Right, the abilities sci have should be a little buffed, or better, skill tree redesigned. No matter what ship you fly in pve, you need to deal lots of damage. And this may work very well in case you have a team with few escorts/dps cruisers but in pve more than 1 sci in a team is not a good idea IMO.

All of these sets and special bonuses...in other words the stars have to align in order to get it all. I can't get a single Orb Weaver much less do I expect much of a chance to get all of this new gear.

If Cryptic left that detail out, they are simply not thorough enough.
Ignore it all you want... The Wells is a federation Starship...

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
R.I.P
The KDF mirror - "Krenn Class Destroyer" with the Tactical focas instead of science should be very interesting to see the stats and layout.
Show your support for the KDF and buy lots of Keys and get these ships!
