Really? 140 tactical and 60 security common doffs required for tier 3 main military project and it still only gives 1k xp? Anybody knows a reward system works by giving more of something for more work when each tier requires more xp. I mean comeon, you're almost doubling the requirements of everything without even giving a 50% increase in the base xp that each tier's project gives. Did you even put any thought into this system before you implemented? I understand you want the starbases to take awhile, but at this rate it's going to be nigh impossible to get tier 5 on anything in less than 2 years. I say we make this our stand, make a stand, less requirements or more xp per tier. Hands up. o/

They laid out the minimium amount of time to get to Tier 5 for anything involving the Starbases was 7 months. Obviously, the higher tier it is, the longer its gonna take to complete.
Im not gonna join this 'stand' of yours. I see nothing wrong with taking the amount of time required to build a starbase.

So you're fine with each tier's projects giving the same amount of exp for double requirement of doffs and fleet marks? Nobody is going to complete tier 5 in 7 months unless they're filling up projects right away and have unlimited resources, 1 year minimum, and all I'm saying is each tier's projects should at least give 20-25% more xp per tier.
why should it ?
what would happen if everyone breezed through all the projects and starbases were at t5 in about 4 -5 months , then what ? there would be nothing else to do on them and people would be complaining even harder than they seem to be now

What's wrong with it taking a year or more?
Most of the grief I see seems built around the assumption that there is an ideal amount of time for completion.
i have no idea what this has to do with the reward system being messed up, but gj random statement
It's not that random a statement. The starbase projects, for the most part, are sinking millions of dilith into vanity a day -- instead of zen where people would convert it to otherwise.

What the poster stated was the entire reason for the Season. It has nothing to do with what the playerbase would like. Otherwise we would have been given the option to place our starbases throughout the universe and make cosmetic changes inside the zone in the form or planetoids or nebulae rather than there being a "Starbase System" along the Neutral Zone for an in-game war that doesn't effect overall gameplay and a timeline that doesn't progress.
They introduced very little in the way of actual content. There's a new Defera which is really just a cut and paste, a few new hack and slash missions to queue for which don't award Dilithium, and a new random daily. The main "content" is we the playerbase building our own DS9s using materials that were once used for the broken and relatively useless crafting system. The "social" dynamic doesn't change as the Starbases and the new holdings they plan to introduce don't really matter.
We continue fly around playing Doff Farmville just as we did before. We continue to grind out Dilithium just as we did before. Nothing really changed only the vendor we purchase ships from. Now we're paying $20 or equivalent materials for marginally superior and in many cases head-scratchingly odd, console-less ships rather than buying them from the C-Store. Until mass keeping up with the Joneses is no longer the basis for MMOs, no "stand" will ever be effective no matter how many pay lip service. Greed is eternal.

So we replaced Doff Farmville and Dilithium grind for no reason except for that last token that won't drop from elite for Alt n-1 with Doff Farmville and Dilithium grind for a pointless Starbase and alternate, badly designed C-Store ships? This is an improvement?

Have we sunk this low that we'll take a shoddy something sooner than nothing and not demand a quality something? This is Cryptic so the quality something was likely never going to occur but now that we've accepted continual subpar work they don't have to do any better because they know we'll swallow it and keep logging in.

not everyone hates the starbase system , its used quite a lot as a meeting place and somewhere to hang out in our fleet , some of us quite like it , shoddy as some people may see it
I'll join it. At the rate of consumption, it'll be much longer than one year for my fleet to even get to Tier 3, much less Tier 5.
And just for a counter reference, Levi3 is a Fleet of 1 person who is closing in on T3 right now all by himself.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

How is the Starbases 'shoddy something'? People have been asking for this since the launch of the game. But typical of those vocal few, its not enough, or not good enough. Or Cryptic is being greedy. Considering the fact they need to make money to continue staying in business, they need money to continue to pay their employees and they need money to continue maintaining, and adding to this game. I dont see how they are being any more greedy then anyone else.
Infact, Id be willing to call you greedy since you think you deserve so much for so little.

There's a difference between time-sink content and Mission Content. Time-sinks are put into the game to occupy players for X number of hours/minutes per session. They're not meant to be the only things people do in a game - they're there as additional content.
The problem with long-time STO players is that they see these time-sinks as THE NEW THING TO DO when in reality it's just another thing to do. How Cryptic envisions a player's day is more akin to this:
Average player play 2-3 hours per session. The player logs in, maybe spends 15-20 minutes doing some DOFFs - flying around trying to fill Chains, earn rare drops, etc. Then the player might head off to Kerrat to do some Fed/KDF bashing for 20-30 minutes just for kicks. They do an STF or two and then do some Dailies to grind out some Dilithium. Maybe that kills an hour. They spend a little time doing one of the Fleet Actions to earn some Marks, then maybe head off to the Exchange to sell whatever they don't want. They maybe throw a few items toward the Fleetbase and then log out. A 2-3 hours well spent.
The next session someone might log in and do an entirely different series of events to occupy their 2-3 hours.
The intent was never for people to do nothing other then grind Marks, Dilithium, and DOFFs for the Fleetbase.

Tbh the way i see it larger starbases require more resources and personnel in order to function e.g. an outpost does not need as much resources as a stronghold to maintain. I don't really care whether we are on track with other fleets or not. My fleet will get there when we get there.

Saying I think youre greedy is not 'hatemongering'. Its voicing my opinion. If you think the word greedy is directly connected to the idea of hate. Then why continue to play a game you feel is created by a greedy business?
