Borg one shots are back.

I got hit by 97000 in damage. Way more than any ship in the game can handle. It happened in ISE. Borg ability to crit was supposed to be taken away. The devs need to look into this.

ummmm... since when were the invisa torps ever removed? the devs regularly say one thing and then do another. i feel your pain, though. once got hit for 250k through a full shield facing...

First off I am not a newbie. Just because I have few post does not mean that at all. There is also no reason to be rude. The Borg were supposed to have there crit taken away, but when you get hit with that much damage it is impossible to handle. I dont mind dieing in a game, but a one shot is stupid. I think dying it gives you something to learn, but a one shot means your dead without no chance of recovery. if this is not happening to you, try taking the agro away from someone and see if you like getting 100k worth of damage to you. I admit I was working on a new build, but it was a solid build proven to work.

[Combat (Self)] Cube's officer Heavy Plasma Torpedo deals 30340 (93535) Kinetic Damage to you with Plasma Torpedo - Heavy II.

Really? 95k damage before resistances? Are you freaking kidding me? I had a Borg Negh'var in Cure hit me with an Isometric Charge for over 60k Electrical Damage. I didn't know Borg NPCs had access to special consoles now.

Every time the devs supposedly "fix" these stupidly overpowered 1-shot skills, it seems STO brings them back.

You're a little late to the party. Heavy plasmas have been one shotting for months, and the same with Iso charge.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

Even the normal plasma torps do a lot of damage, specially if you are a Tac.

The devs can't even fix a simple xchange bug there's no way in hell they'll fix the invisa torps, even if they can, because that's how pwe works- zerg + lottery = money!

Don't complain about heavy plasma torps being one shots, they are avoidable and destructible.

Do complain about Dontra's torpedo spread hitting you, a normal hit you might survive if you are buffed up and full shields, the critical (which obviously don't happen because the patch notes say so) will kill anything with over 140k in damage.

Do complain about the Neg's isometric charge which can one shot an entire group, not to mention insta-kill the freighters in Blockade.

I'd also complain about gates super beam which can take one full shield facing and bring me to 20% hull in a single shot, then it follows up with something else a second later and you are dead, you can't react to that.

We aren't complaing about heavies- its the normal unbuffed ones doin well and away 100k b4 resists that are worth complaining about. No buff can save you. No maneuvre. No weapon. Its the wrath of gozer! Mwhahahaha!

The borg can wipe out entire fleets with a single cube. Cryptic is trying to recreate this without it being entirely impossible to stop them.

Just be thankful they never added re-modulation to space fighting against the borg, which would be canon as well.

Besides, think about this for a moment. 95k for a heavy 2 plasma torpedo.

Striking a ship with an average of 30% hull kinetic resist (If you're smart to add resistance consoles for stfs). Plus shields reducing the effectiveness of kinetic attacks instantly significantly lowers the overall damage that torpedo can do. If they lowered it too much, it wouldn't be a high end threat, it would be a tickle that escorts would laugh off and nobody would think twice about taking the hit.

Actually... I am in favor of giving the borg more teeth...; but not necessarily one-shot kills... although i don't mind them... they need to have more sustained damage rather than spike damage in their general weaponry... shielding needs buffed, as does the hull.

I also think bringing back some of the old style STF elements (maybe at the Elite Level), such Sphere guardians with every probe spawn at Khito... etc...

It isn't as bad as it used to be. Once in a while in an STF I might get one shot killed. It isn't nearly as often as it used to be however.

The Borg aren't even able to shoot down one Delta Flyer and get defeated by one little ship that is thousands of light-years away from home with no supply or support.

    Your turn. :P :D

But I have to say: As a tank with decent equip, I never get one shotted (apart from the charged of the Negh'Var and heavy plasma torpedos that I overlooked that is). The problem is, that there are hardly any tanks around. When I play my other toon (Klingon tac in a BoP) I get shot down all the time, because I nearly always get the aggro.

I'm still getting one hit crits in all three STFs and it doesn't matter if i'm in an Armitage, Atrox, Oddyessy, or an MVAM. One Shot and BAM, I'm dead.

Way are you being rude i have been playing for over a year and a half And the one hit crit attacks are back and be for you say any thing Ground borg elites are all so doing the One hit kills as well STF's are getting to many bugs and i know most of them.

Now i have seen the one hit Crits on ground but i have not seen any from the Cubes.

But the Gates can do the One hit Crits The Op is probably getting to close to the gate system stay away from the gates.9.5 is the best spot to be at the gate will not shoot a thing at you.

I run with the Fleet Escort and i can stand up to a tac cube. Now i do not recall any one shot kills other then the gate. But yes the one shot kills from cube use to be there. But have not seen any from the cubes lately.I only see the one shot kills from the Gate so far.

^Some people feel the need to post just to see themselves speaking, their verbal masturbation is best ignored.
The problem almost sounds like overlapping criticals and could have been a fluke. If you think it might be a bug you could try to pull a ticket to get somebodies attention, it's not likely you are going to get a helpful reaction here since it's very uncertain how much attention the powers that be pay the forums.

Another thing that's quite annoying is going into an elite space STF, no ship 'injuries' or anything, and then getting to a somewhat difficult borg ship, like the tac cube, and suddenly you go from full shield and hull to boom in 4 shots and 1 second. Has happened to me several times. I'm certainly no noob, have most of my characters built to take a normal cube solo in elites. Yet I had no time at all to react and try to save myself, 4 beams from nowhere and I'm gone in an instant.

The thing is, that you shouldn't get shot at in the first place. Normally there should be a tank around, that has the aggro and can deal with the damage, but there hardly is any tank in PUGs at all.

it have nothing to do with TANK i play tac most time in different shipclasses and never have a prob with be 1 shotet on any way, i have only noticed in all stfs that alot players playing brainless.

example a player with a operation ody try 5 times to kill a cube in KASE never using a heal or tak team= dieing, the fight runs ~8 min i watch this show.

or a player in a scie vessel attak a a generator after i switch to HP from generator and noticed he can NOT break the HP regen from this structure and yes generators have regen i never have seen that befor. he spam tyken rift, subsystem targeting shilds,... on structure.

after 5 min i decide to destroy the structur and stop this drama.

players wrong playstyle is the prob not a plasma torp what can be shotet easy.;)

brel is a pvp/fun ship"no hull no shilds" only it have nothing to search in an stf same like scie vessel from fed, if you go in with this TRIBBLE you only make the mission for others harder/impossible.

it will be same like to say go in with a shuttle and try to win.

ussing serious ships is a basic in stfs.;)

Hah! Even KDF photonic fleets use P2W consoles now! :D

But yeah, the borg critting was fixed a few patches ago, and like most changes, rolled back a few patches later... This happens all the time whatever they try to fix in STO... :(

I got critted by a plasma torpedo for 124K today from a single strike. 1-2-4-K!

That wasn't even the last crit recorded in the log before I went up in a cloud of gas.
