Mirror Stuff: Reminder #2

I.S.S. Prefix (explain to me how hard it is to change the U to a I.. if my brain melts i'll let the prefix go... for now :O)

Yellow Winglet Terran Hull (or MOAR mirror ships... however i'd prefere the former)

Purple Terran Hull (what the terran ships use to have)


Failing that.. can we get the mirror (yellow & purple) ships added to the foundry contacts (or hull type for the ship costumes)

Anti mirror universe fools... please report to this room and meet your interrorgater.

    Classification can not be changed because it's federation vessel, and it is not representing Empire anymore.

    Classification prefix codes cannot currently be unlocked on a per-ship basis. We have the tech to allow it as a character unlock (see the NX prefix code unlock), but we don't wish to see "true" Federation ships flying around with the ISS prefix.

    That, and these ships are, fictionally, refit into Federation and KDF vessels. They are not on the Mirror faction and it therefore makes sense that they'd be re-registered under the players' bureaucracy.

    O Rly? So BranFlakes telling us the tech didnt exist was a)to shut us up? b)a lie c) he didnt know ?

    Plot/Story wise, I can understand you wanting to keep the U.S.S. Prefix However I personally think you would make a fair bit from placing the Mirror Universe Items oon the Z-store (Hull,Doffs etc) I know several Rpers who would buy it without a doubt.

    They don't have the tech to give it to you on a per ship basis. Meaning if they gave it to you on a Mirror Ship they'd have to give it to you on all your ships: MU or not.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    I have a very Mirror Federation/Terran Empire Fed toon, I would love a account wide ISS/Mirror Skin unlock. I have a Regent with Sovi/Mirror Skin and MACO set, looks darn sexy!

    Makes sense...but why can't we use the consoles from the Soverignn refit in the mirror equivalent?

    Funny, because the console can work on both the Assault Cruiser and Regent Refit.

    So, given that it's doable per character, here's a question:

    Could you make Terran Refugee a playable +1 species?

    The DOffs indicate what their core traits would be.

    The playable Terran would have the ISS prefix UNLOCKED and USS prefix LOCKED. They'd also have ONLY Terran ship skins available. That would make it so that all ISS ships look appropriately like Mirror ships.

    Hm.

    The Mirror Universe Star Cruiser looks like the Assault Cruiser so it can use the Imperial and Regent skins because it looks like an Assault Cruiser, but not the console since it only goes with actual Assault Cruisers. The Mirror Universe Assault Cruiser looks like a Star Cruiser so it can't use the Imperial and Regent skins, but it can use the console since it is technically an Assault Cruiser, but with a Star Cruiser skin.

    Also the KDF in mirror universe are not part of the Terran Empire which makes me wonder if Cryptic is going to immerse us at some point in how the Terrans went from having a defiant class as their only warship from where it left in DS9 where they were freedom fighters to speak if you can call it that to rebuilding the Terran Empire :)

    "True" Fed ships? I think that ship sailed a loooong time ago in a lockbox.... with a sail on it. The amount of "refit" ships is outright staggering, and more immersion breaking than someone wanting to change the looks of their ships would be.

    The prefix, the decals, its all a simple matter of costuming, but THAT gets nixed while people fly around in Ferengi, Cardassian, Jem'Hadar and now Tholian ships? No need to split hairs about it, its a money issue so why not SELL the ISS prefix for a few hundred Zen? Tons of people would get it but only a handful would actually use it so immersion is not as badly hit. Better yet it takes practically zero work to do (I refuse to believe the Cryptic Game engine is SO bad getting a simple prefix added to a dropdown menu can take long to do).

    I realize Bort is following the party line on this one, and thanks go to him for letting us know what the Cryptic stance on this issue was. I just feel its just another one of those little decisions that again leave me scratching my head in WTFness and annoyance towards Cryptic. Canon was sacrificed already so why not?

    Actually the really scary part is the mention it can't be done on a ship per ship basis.... *sigh* I can only imagine what character specific , or worse character specific and SHIP specific :eek: items they've been discussing lately. Game shop consumable boosts that affect a single item a character has are not an uncommon thing in lots of F2P games so no, its not implausable. And wether the actual devs have talked about it or not I can guarantee PWI has (points to Champion's mod system.... consumables used up to boost a single piece of gear once)

    But again, that's the company line, which we already know, so no one get on Bort's back over it. He doesn't set policy.

    True Federation? Tholian,Ferengi,Spoon head,freighters and Jem'hadar ships ? :S

    The mirror ships are closer to Federation ships than anything else.. and if a player is using the I.S.S. prefix then its His/Her choice.. just give the player a warning whehn he/she purchases it (bla bla bla I.S.S. [Ship name])

    Makes sense to me. It's pretty much the same procedure as when the German U-boat U-570 was renamed HMS Graph after capture.

    There was another German ship that was captured at the end of WW2 and put into service in the US Navy. All they did was slap U.S.S. in front of it's name.

    Yeah their response left me scratching my head to. Their wishy-washy stance on immersion and what's canon-appropriate is astounding; we've got captains soaring around in Tholian ships and that's okay, but leaving the ISS prefix on a the hull of a ship taken from the Mirror Universe is a no-no.

    It's extremely transparent.

    yeah cryptic... gust give us the I.S.S. Prefix... its up to the player if he/she wants to buy it. and therefore its up to the player if they want to be identified as the I.S.S. [ship name here]... Now I can understand you want people to be "starfleet" but.. well... We'd like other options...

    Mirror Hull + I.S.S. Prefix in Z-store = Happy Customers + Profit

    At the minimum can we please get the mirror hull that visually scratches of 3/4 of the U ?

    Failing even that.. can we get a foundry asset that'll change the players ship skin automatically to the mirror one for mirror universe quests.
