People complain that the odds of getting something useful from lockboxes is too low, so they put more value into them and what happens?

People complain that oversupply due to the higher odds is horrible.

Lol, markets are so entertaining sometimes :)

I know right? the Forums are awesome that way. And that is why the Devs don't really care what we say on there because even if they do what we say some folks will always be mad.

Why in bloody hell would you want prices to go up? That's like wiping before you TRIBBLE. It doesn't make any sense.

Hilarous :D I'm going to remember that one

with one thing the OP hits the nail.

for a F2Per it is now easier to get a MU ship for a few EC, than to buy a dilithium ship.

considering that there are MU skins for ALL ships and they only sold like 3 with this LockBox we can expect that the plan is to keep more MU ships coming with new LockBoxes.

Before you know it Cryptic will not sell any dilithium ships to F2Pers anymore but only those MU Ships on the exchange.

Not the best move from a marketing point of view, surely a nice thing for F2Pers who don't want to pay for stuff.

    Simple

they cost someone ONE lock box key
They are NON Canon for either faction
    They are purely for show

and they aren't worth more (I would maybe consider using the frieghter but any others I got I would pass to someone else)

    as to Affording one
    I COULD buy one
but why the hell would I want one??

Lets look at them for a moment

    Ferengi marauder
    Used by Ferengi Alliance (only)
    Standard use Commerce
now how many commercial missions have we got??
    Whats that snoopy? NONE??

    Cardassian Galor class warship
Used by Cardassian Union and some Marquis units
Standard use Attacking DS9 and losing

    Tholian Carrier
Used by Tholians (and people who do not breathe oxygen)
Standard use protection of Tholian space

Not to forget the Jem hadar attack ship
    Used by Jem Hadar
Standard use Delta Runs (straifing in Threes)

    I mean Come on
These lock box ships are RUBBISH

You clearly have no understanding of odds.
These lock box ships are RUBBISH

    Based on?

Your opinion of what they should be and do?

Because you are clearly not basing it on the in game stats, based on your list.

Got news for you, the exchange value of these ships is not based on your opinion on them, or how they fit into canon.

If you don't think they're worth more then 250k then don't buy any, and if you had any put them up for that price.

But please stop trying to pass your opinion off as fact, and trying to force everyone else to abide by it.

Case in point a mirrior Star Cruiser can be as low as 250,000 EC.
A MU Assault Cruiser is the same as the free Assault Cruiser, except it has 200 more crew. Why would anyone pay more than 250,000 EC for an extra 200 crew?
While ship for ship trading should not be changed, I write this due to the rudeness of persons whom spoil sells of these types of items by stating the depreciated price of these items. A minium price cap for a ship on the exchange should be close to 6,000,000 EC for a ship.
You're whining because people are nice enough to state the actual value of these items when you try to sell them for grossly over-inflated prices.

(Also, the MU Star Cruiser is the same as a normal Star Cruiser, except with 200 less crew. Which means it's inferior to a free ship. Ugh.)

1 lock box key outcome (odds are better than you might think) is worth MAYBE 40k EC

Want me to get EXCITED about a ship in a lock box??

    Sure

put a decent Captain level Frieghter in there
    (lotus class or mission class)
put a ship thats Faction canon in there (like the PROTOTYPE for the Defiant not the useless production model)
put in a ship with AVERAGE stats and a cool visual

do not try and persuade me that "VA or RA " ships are worth money
    they aren't
you can fly one ship at a time guys

Offer us a cross faction Brel (not the stupid upgraded retrofit the real deal we fly in doomsday weapon mission)

    Offer us a Botany bay

Offer us a D7 AX with all the trimmings (first Klingon ship to mount the plasma weapon designed by the romulans)

Offer us a ship we can RECOGNISE
    and maybe its worth something

but a Ferengi ship (regardless of stats) is only any use to a FERENGI
    Live long and Prosper

I've noticed the prices for ships on the exchange being, so it is ridiculously low priced that you can purchase ships by doing one tour the universe. Case in point a mirrior Star Cruiser can be as low as 250,000 EC. While the prime universe, of the same type of ship can cost 120,000 dilithium which is likely more than the prior amount of EC amount. As there are no exchange miniums or listed rates for ships the depreciated value is not fair to the person triying sell a particular type of ship. Fair miniums for sell of ships and other items should be established in the exchange by use of a minium cap for a certain item.
While ship for ship trading should not be changed, I write this due to the rudeness of persons whom spoil sells of these types of items by stating the depreciated price of these items. A minium price cap for a ship on the exchange should be close to 6,000,000 EC for a ship.
To date there is not a valid chart or exchange that informs the people of what should be the value of EC from or to dilithium. In the ship selection, in any star base a cap stops a person from buying a ship if miniums are not meet the same should apply to the exchange.
Added to the other reasons stated, RA ships used to be sold 120k EC before F2P. So they're actually only slightly more expensive their their counterparts.

The NPC's don't use a KR, why should they be available to purchase ? Play KDF, buy a Fleet K'Tinga, mount your reman set and all plasma weapons/consoles 'cause thats as close as it's gonna get.

Cryptic is never going to put faction specific ships in lockboxes, just as they never should. That would cause a horrifying mutiny not even I would want to deal with.

the mirror universe cruiser is an exception because I have a mirror universe captain (Voltax)

I think if you have an Odyssey ops, or the pack and u have it on a different ship, or the Exploration cruiser retrofit, If you separate your Saucer Section, and then a ship destroys your Stardrive, it should switch you to the saucer section unless it is destroyed. If your core is about to breach right after you are defeated, you should have the option of Hull heal or saucer separation.:mad::mad::mad: Grrrrrrrrrrr....... Please forward this to PWE or sumone who will do sumthin about this.

I think one problem they had was that the mirror universe ships SHOULD have been cross faction. I'm almost positive that would have make them more popular.

I agree... how many Feds would love to fly a Vorcha? And my Gorn would love to fly around in a Star Cruiser. I think Cryptic missed out on a BIG potential market here.

I could see that working and not working, it would make sense as they are "mirror" ships, but some would flip their lid at one side getting the others stuff. :(

they are rubbish simple as that

WHY do i see so less of those lock boxes ship fly every
becouse pll only want mony thats all they dont care how good ore bad that ship is they want MONY

they think if am rich am beter then orther to that anser is NO
i see now you dont have to be rich to have good gear/weapens in this game

only it takes longer to get them thats all
and when your lvl 50 you even can do replay mision to get beter stuff also

so you dont need mony for that to
only the MK 12 are a little harder to get but with patience you get it to

this is what i see what is so wrong in this game

Master key 2.5 mil +- O.o 1 key is 125 Zen very cheap
so dunno the high price they sell it for

Orb weaver 80 mil +- also dunno the high price when almost nobody fly it ??
if they are so good what pll say why almost nobody fly them ??

becouse like i said they want mony
    and thats all

I love the 'killer whale' MUAC and all my toons had it before the release of the Regent class, my new favourite.

Nothing to complain about with the easy ship availability.

Think of it - people were whining how inaccessible the D'kora and the Galor was. So now you got cheap alternatives courtesy of our dear Terran Empire friends. Orb Weavers and Recluse Carriers still remain exclusive and similarly priced on the Exchange to the earlier unique 'jackpot' ships.
