STO game client remembers my old username

During the pwe account merger I had to change my username so that it did not match my @handle. I have no problems logging into the game but the STO game client remembers my old username when checking the remember my username box.

I sent support ticket in, I was told they they were aware of it but there is no solution at present and that I should post here.

This is becoming a real pain in the TRIBBLE and surely something as fundimental as buged login screed should be fixed pretty sharpish.
