Starbase Fleet Incursion captain progress bar increases too quickly

I have played this hundreds of times and can never get that poxy captain, the progress bar just increases too quickly and im waiting around for things to beam in, like security guards so I can kill them and then decloak the shield thingy... but by that time he has already beamed out! you have no chance!

you need to make it possible to get this guy, you need to make the progress bar progress allot slower.....

    It is rather damn fast.

    All I can suggest are having engineers lay down mortars and mine the north west and west sections, hope you kill fast enough, while the console is being used, transp and orb strike where the captain is :\

    Done it twice. Doesn;t help when the pug group doesn;t realize that that the captian needs to be taken out first. last time I played, I was the only one going after the captain.

    Don't mean to hijack the thread, but what is the most marks you have ever gotten from that mission?

    I usually take out around 22-25 or so.
    I am wondering if getting the Captain gives you much more.

    Low 40s.

    Captain gives you 5 and there are accolades for them.

    Average is between 20-30 IMO, unless you play during fleet mark times, then its 30-40. I average about the same as you

    As for the OP, you need a team that is going to get ready when the 3rd stage starts, THEN go in to attack the security, and have everyone on top of the captain while the shield is being taken down, using their strongest attacks when the shield drops.

    Not easy by ANY means, but doable with the right people.

    I hit 37 marks last night during non fleet mark time, and still didn't get the captain. Had an entire team of people that knew exactly what to do and were good at it!

    That's a lot of the problem.

    For the second portion, I always call out as to which one I'm going after so that we don't dupe effort. Never helps. Actually was followed by a cloaked player to the two I took out in my last one.

    Of course he or she could have been trying to figure out how I did mine....

    I'm not perfect either though. Didn't realize that the captain was the npc in front. I always thought it was the npc in the rear and wondered why we weren't receiving credit for downing him or her. Someone finally clued me in.

    I reread my message and realize it may have come across as complaining, I am actually ecstatic that we got 37! easily 10 more than I had ever gotten before!

    I will now go towards building a group of people that have the knowledge and ability to pull that off repeatedly :)
