Sounds issues in new Starbase fleet alerts causing excessive cpu usage!

I've played the new s6 fleet alerts. The problem I'm having is in the one which has the dude saying "Freighter group alpha away" etc etc.
Basically as you progress he started randomly repeating some of the lines. It gets gradually more frequent with him repeating them more and more often until eventually the sound files are being played so much my cpu use jumps from around the 70-75% mark where it is normally to a near constant 100%.
At it's very worst the sound will distort as it's playing and it will sound as if there are dozens of the guys in your head all screaming out "FREIGHTERGROUPALPHAAWAY" all at the same time and the game becomes a slideshow
