K, thanks. It had me a bit worried as it was unexpected.

Glad I didn't kill the process this morning when I left for work.

even if you stop half way through, you dont lose anything. it will just pick itself back up where it left off.

As per Commodore Bob's thread, might be worth patching Tribble on your PC too - since most of the patch files for season six are already on there it WILL speed the process up when you upload the Holodeck S6 patch.

    Allowed to do a correction.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

There have been a number of threads on this already (which have since been merged). There is even a sticky about it. It is pre-patching for Season 6. You can always stop the pre-patch by closing the launcher but you risk waiting for over an hour for a patch to download when Season 6 launches.

Please kindly see my sig image. I've reported that now at least three times over the last three months with no resolution except for a response that stated "Well it must be a bug. Did you report it?" from a GM who for some strange reason was answering bug reports.

There any many bug reports here in the tribble sub forums. Hopefully they'll get to them but I for one am not holding my breath.

I think this is just the ZEN Conversion patch coming this week...

I'm guessing that perhaps next week we'll get the Big One.

Might be another up-date to Tribble this week though...

They have not added the DOff part of the Star Base setup for us to fiddle with yet on Tribble.

I don't think the Zen conversion would require that big of a patch. The change to and from Atari points were barely a footnote in the patch log when they happened.

sorry guys- checked for release notes, stickys and the first couple threads but didn't see any so I posted.

My bad- PWE taught me to google instead of searching their site for 3 days for an answer, and I didn't google.
    :D

...no joke- 3 days searching and google took 5 seconds for an answer.

Most folks just got about a 400 to 1170 Kb DL though...

That might be about right for the ZEN thing.

It's compressed. In the past, it'll download say like 25 megs and then install like 100 megs.

Hopefully, and (as per Commodore Bob) it looks rather likely, but no offical word from the Dev's yet.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong about something. It just doesn't happen that often. :P

I have that feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach surrounding season 6 going live in the next week.
Something tells me it will be a repeat of previous seasons basically breaking the game as the devs frantically try to fix their own mess.

Lest hope at least one of the devs is on the ball.....

I just hope s6 doesn't disconnect me every few mins like it did on tribble over the weekend testing. :(

must say though that it is a great idea to pre patch. So many other games I had waited in intense anticipation during the patch. With this process and only a small d/l on patch day I hope things are much smoother and quicker.,

Another Season that snot fit for release is being background patched for release. Yay way to keep up tradition. How bout trying a new approach, lets fix the bugs and work out the problems before you start loading the TRIBBLE up ready for holodeck?

This is UNREAL. What's with the ******** and moaning and negativity? Push back the launch date because it's still buggy? You people are beyond me. You nag and nag for a new season, constantly, for months, and then when they're going to release it you get all uppity because the build you've tested (which is several builds behind) has too many bugs in it.

    Absolutely pathetic.

    ROLL ON S6!

If you'd looked over the tribble sub forum and seen the sheer number of mission breaking and gameplay breaking bugs you'd understand. There's clearly several huge issues still outstanding on tribble with several missions. Not to mention the render bug demonstrated just a couple of days ago.

No, this is Unreal. Which is what STO should be running on. Taking notes devs? :D

On, topic. Yes, we want S6, but we want it without overlooked and completely ignored, heavily reported bugs that should have be taken care of before it's added to holodeck. That's what's pathetic. Because it has happened since day one. And you wonder why we're so cynical and irritated with Cryptic? That's why.

My God that looks staggeringly beautiful..... :D

That's a long way of from the Unreal engine I remember of yesteryear. Thanks for that.

I see your point, I just don't think pushing back the release for a week or 2 will make the smallest bit of difference, like a lot of people are calling for.

Before you start thinking that Unreal is a great game engine for MMOs, consider the two games using Unreal 3 tech so far (your demo is a generation ahead but still):
    • APB Reloaded
    • Tera

Granted, what a developer does under-the-hood in repurposing an engine can vary greatly (NetImmerse is a great example of that: everything from Bully to Pirates! to Oblivion)

One was woefully buggy, despite featuring the best character editor I've seen.
The other has so-so combat and shiny graphics.

On the recent Priority One podcast, Al Rivera said the version we've tested on Tribble is 6-7 versions behind what they've been working on. A lot of the bugs seen may have been worked out long ago.

If you played on Tribble this weekend... patching only takes a few seconds.

sadly this isnt true for me. i played on tribble all weekend and it is up to date. but the prepatch just sits there, doesnt patch anything. i sat there for 20 minutes and it was at 0.00%
*Me*Why don't you just step away from the weapons console. You and I both know that you couldn't hit that cube, even if it was right in front of us.
*Junior Tactical Officer* But sir the cube IS right in front of us.
*Me* EXACTLY! Its right in front of us and you still missed it! Just step away from the console.

For me, the first time it downloaded fully 1117 MBs and looked like it finished patching correctly, since then everytime I get in or out of the game the launcher starts patching another GB or two but stops after half a minute or so like nothing ever happened.
