I just hope it is not another freacking cruiser. Or at least that we will have some sort of selection between the 3 classes... Preferably not a freacking cruiser.
Please no... that's a cruiser.
Maybe a Federation equivalent of the Bird of Prey? And K'Vort for the Klingons.
I think the biggest problem with the Veteran Special ship will be that it will probably be only costume. So all Veterans end up flying the same ship, basically. I already hate that about all the "alien" ships and the Odyssey.

Cryptic really maneuvered themselves into a corner with that one. Whatever ships they choose there will always be lots of people who are going to hate it or won't use it. Personally I would make a T5 refit of the T2 cruiser (without the Constitution skin for all I care) and a T5 K't'inga for the Klingons.

According to the podcast you may be getting it with the fleet base

I've always liked the smugglers ship from TNG's Unification. Although it blew up after one shot, so with some 2411 tech.
I've also always been partial to the Romulan D'deridex class and the Klingon Bird of Prey. How about Gomtuu from TNG's Tin Man?

Muahaha, you know it's going to be a Cruiser.
Now, let me explain. I'm not talking about a BoP with a fed skin. I'm talking about a BoP as designed by the Federation. (instead of naked cannons, they are designed to look like the lego phaser rifles, etc) It should look as if Starfleet's engineers got together and decided "Hey, let's see if we can make one of these things."
Same with the KDF Defiant. A powerful escort would be something the KDF is very interested in. So they steal the plans and build one. But they don't have the same build tech as the Federation and so their Defiant will have a very Klingon flavor to it.
Again, I'm not looking for re-skinned ships. I'm talking cross-over ship built from the ground up as if they were designed by those factions.

I just wish it could be a ship that you could use from the start and level up with the whole way in the same ship... even if they release a different version of the ship. IE 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50 all hae their own Tier of the special ship, but it looks exactly the same, just with new BOFF and Console layouts so if you want you can pilot the same ship your entire career.
I find it funny there are so many request for a "Fed BoP".
How about a Heavy BoP for KDF with 4 foreward and 4 aft weapons slots.
Shoot, even if they restored the 3rd aft weapons slot to the T5 BoP that was taken away so long ago...

I'm already somewhat worried after seeming the blog with the 900 day skin. I was hoping for something not green/brown for the KDF. Maybe a dark grey or black.
Well, I'm not exactly 'worried,' per se, as I think JamJamz will give us something cool. But I do agree with being disappointed when I saw the pic of the new KDF 900-day material. I too would've loved to see a nice 'gunmetal grey' or something along those lines. The green pictured looks an awful lot like an existing green skin, to my eyes.
I was just looking over some of the Starbase fleet refits that will be made available. I noted that the K't'inga (perhaps not the D7) is already set for T5. Player's will have to work for it. But it's possible. Yet the Constitution (even in it's TMP costume) continues to be forbidden.
I would feel bad if the 1000 day reward was OMG super duper awesome, and then a huge chunk of the playerbase didn't get it.
Actually, I would think that would be the intent. If you are going to release a "OMG super duper awesome" ship, you would want to limit its use.
However, I think there are more LTS and Gold going to hit 1,000 days than there are Galors out there. So I would imagine it wouldn't be that killer. More like something unique, but not OP.

Raven-class doff-boat? (For the Feds, anyway. KDF will have to design a generic flying brick of its own.)
Or they can take the relatively easy route and starfleet and the KDF can grant their most veteran captains a pick from the spoils of war, as in captured enemy vessels.
(Though really, what does that tell the rest of the fleet? Ensign Joe Inoverhishead, recently field promoted to command cause of the war and having a pulse and all, arrives at the fleet and finds all the veterans have abandoned their Federation ships in favor of the ones the enemy flies. Think he might worry about his shieldstrength a little? Not the best move, morale-wise...)
I don't think its fair to everyone else if anything like a new ship is given.
Should be something cosmetic only like a special uniform or accesory.
As predicted it has begun. of course it's not "fair" it's not fair when some one is flying around in a C-store ship as well compared to someone who doesn't own one.
The entire point of the veteran rewards is to add a small incentive to people to pay for a sub. if a nice ship at 1,000 days gets people to sub to reach it, PWE and Cryptic are making $, mission accomplished.

I have a couple of thoughts.
As the final vet reward, I think it SHOULD BE OMG Super-Awesome.
I DON'T think it should be central to the IP (ie. T5 Connie, T6 Dreadnaught, etc.) so I think it shouldn't be from the shows. It should be a Star Trek Online original.
I also think new lifers should get all vet rewards as soon as they go LTS. So people who really want one? They can go LTS for it.
I also think there are issues with EITHER making it a faction neutral lockbox ship (CBS isn't even crazy about the lockboxes, according to Geko, and the 1000 day reward would be more common, IMHO) or making one for each faction (as Geko admits he wants to include the KDF in the reward but doesn't seem crazy about a separate KDF ship).
The way I see it, there are a couple of options.
My favorite is a joint Starfleet/KDF ship. I favor a BoP with Starfleet/KDF joint designs because that plays well as a science ship and an escort, the two underrepresented ship types. This way, both sides get the same ship, which is what Geko would prefer, and it isn't IP inappropriate for either. Plaster Omega Force insignia on it and make it D'Vak's personal flagship, which he had a few extras commissioned of for vets.
Another possibility I can see is an assimilated ship, with the Borg junk (or an even cooler version of it) on there by default, without equipping the Borg set, and some thematic Borg powers. This would be as a companion to an LTS Borg in some respects. This is the more "art lite" option that would allow Fed and KDF to have separate reward ships. Because it wouldn't be a whole new ship.
What would I like to see? Well considering that making one ship have some appeal to a lot of different players, I think it's time to propose a ship that isn't an escort, science vessel or cruiser. I give you the:

A BoP as if designed by the Federation in Oddy +1 style, with Klingon Honor Guard and MACO insignia, capable of displaying either veteran texture.
So, swooping contours, Odyssey nacelles but applied to wings and a pod as a configuration.
The beauty is, BoPs are both science ships and escorts so it fills that anything but a cruiser need.
Muahaha, you know it's going to be a Cruiser.

And of course the coresponding D7 from TOS for Klingons.
It should have a pulsing Golden Glow about it as well.
You could do the whole game in this ship, just like the TV show!

Agreed. Because it would actually hold meaning for player's so commited to the game after this amount of time.
