I'm probably not the person best suited to tell about black spots but i might as well. So far I've seen ships like the galaxy, intrepid, akira type classes and Prometheus were all fixed. Other ships still having issues are frigate, all tier 1, olympic, defiant has minor issues, almost all tier 5 and just about every klingon ship. Maybe my computer is just a fail but anyway just wanted to share my findings with people who may have the same issues. Appreciate if this was fixed because new ships make the game feel newish. No i don't know my computer specs.
They really need to fix the two big black triangles on the Defiant model. Its one of the most popular ships in game - how has this one been left unfixed while others have recieved some pretty nice update work?
Are we ever going to get any fixes for the stuff mentioned in here? Most of it continues to be ignored! How long can it really take to fix a triangle on the bottom rear of the Defiant for example? Do you think you can answer that, tacofangs?
Edit: I do know ships is not your department. I'm just curious how much time it could actually take to fix that, even if just a guestimate. Personally, I'd say a half hour tops but I want to say more like 5 minutes.
Hopefully the latest Tribble patch actually adds some stability. There are a couple of spots in Into The Hive that I noticed with missing textures. If the force field wasn't busted at the time (never dropping to let anyone back in), I'm sure I would have found more.
I am very disappointed with the resolution to the issues posted in this thread. Tumorboy specifically stated this was the best place to post them and they would be addressed on a case by case basis. How much of what is posted in here has been addressed? Very little!
Here are two of my favorite ships in the game, please please fix them soon! I just got the Fleet Explore Cruiser and want so desperately to put on the Galaxy Skin.
Also note on the Constitution Cruiser, the Starboard Nacelle isn't sitting properly on the strut. This will surely affect warp efficiency.
Assault Cruiser model missing textures along length of the bottom hull and part of the rear hull area (namely Noble variation) and along bottom of pylons and nacelles (Sovereign).
Research Science Vessel model missing textures around top and bottom bridge module areas (Olympic) and on parts of rear hull (Olympic)
Still getting black textures when increasing the strength of alien facial features like with Xindi, Kesat etc in DX11. Also getting black textures on ships such as Brel Retrofit. I'm running a XFX 7950 3GB with latest drivers (13.1). No issues in DX9.
Still getting the Black Textures after the re-texture on Tribble, in exactly the same places as before, as far as I can tell, is this expected behaviour?
My ships have missing textures and are a black shiny color (not changeable in designer) most of the other ships in space look the same. bright blue with wire mesh showing where textures should be. running a 6 core processor, 8 gig ram, ati HD 6450 1 gig video card. win 7 pro. WTF oh and i have tryed all dx settings and backed off graphics and re installed everything at least twice, have up-to-date drivers.
(Since I'm not allowed to make my own thread yet - Here's a semi-related issue I hope someone can help me fix - or at least point me in the right direction)
I keep getting this odd "see through walls" glitch where particle effects like engine cores (on stations) and monitors will show through the walls - or even start flickering.
The worst occurence is on the Earth Spacedock where the planet below decides to overlap everything on screen at certain angles.

Particularly, missing torso arms, and most of head. I've tried wiping my cache (hogg) and pigg files, as well as running the patcher, to no avail.
Graphics Drivers are up to date. Nvidia 310.90 (460m card)

Any word on when the graphics department will be doing a complete look into all of these?
Nearly every ship that was in game at launch, has some textures missing.
Research Science Vessel model missing textures around top and bottom bridge module areas (Olympic) and on parts of rear hull (Olympic)
Will post pictures when able.
I always found it weird that the Galaxy had that error on the saucer yet the Nebula doesn't.
