That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

that was over 1700 years ago...i seriously doubt cryptic cares about potentially offensive things THAT old

i've certainly never seen them take action against the name genghis khan, and the things he did back then were just about as bad as what most modern tyrants and dictators have done, even if it was on a smaller scale...of course, i've also never seen the name genghis khan anywhere in STO, so maybe they do take action

*smacks* what's the matter with you?!

    locators, always, always LOCATORS!!!

exploiters are inefficient compared to locators in all but a FEW combinations of skill, player/boff traits, weapon mods, and consoles equipped, and i highly doubt you have one such combination

also, [Dmg] is garbage - get a different mod for those weapons

Once your crit chance is around 18-20%, you don't need more and should go for Crit damage.

Plain old [Dmg] is still TRIBBLE, however.

    Er, wut

The PvPers who crunch the numbers for these kinds of things, yes the ones who do math, did prove with math that when your overall crit chance (not sure what the heck you're talking about with spire console vs weapon crit chance) is around 20%ish, critical damage will get you more damage than adding more crit chance.

Complain about that all you want, but they did the math. And math doesn't lie.

I just took a big test that melted my brain, so you're only setting yourself up here to get mauled... but who am I to stop you?

    1. "you're the one who has no idea what the hell he's talking about;" Ah yes, the one who actually does PvP, and looks over the PvP forums regularly has no idea what the hell he's talking about.

    2. "those SAME PvPers are the ones who keep saying ALL LOCATORS, ALL LOCATORS, ALL LOCATORS, for all but the BAREST handful of builds," Did you get caught in one of the bandwagon's wheels, or are you just stupid? The people who have no idea what the hell they're talking about scream locators up the wazoo without thinking. If you ever bothered to notice, or dare I say look at the math, you would realize that the same PvP'rs who do the math do not scream locators. They recommend max locators for a lot of ships because many people don't have the other items (consoles, boffs, etc.) that get them to around 20%.

    3. "for all but the BAREST handful of builds, and even then, it's only one or two exploiters and no more" Both my JHAS and Defiant use 4 locators/1 exploiter because they get me into the optimal critC/critD range.

As I said, I'm not in the mood for nicey-nice.

Guys! Come on, CALM DOWN. It's a game, it's a forum. Seriously. Everyone wants to play it in their own way, that cannot be ignored.

But for the sake of whatever, CALM DOWN.

    ----

@Vopo; please, give me the info you get in your eventviewer (run => eventvwr) when the game crashes.

    Nerf is OP, plz nerf
That's quite the paradox, how could you nerf nerf when the nerf is nerfed. But how would the nerf be nerfed when the nerf is nerfed? This allows the nerf not to be nerfed since the nerf is nerfed? But if the nerf isn't nerfed, it could still nerf nerfs. But as soon as the nerf is nerfed, the nerf power is lost. So paradoxally it the nerf nerf lost its nerf, while it's still nerfed, which cannot be because the nerf was unable to nerf.

I call it, the Stoutes paradox.
