I whole-heartedly agree. I have Fluffy McCuddlesworth as my official Tribble tester. I took him to the tailor to see if we had any new hair options, only to discover that Fluffy no longer had his trademark facial stripes. Needless to say, I find this quite angering. :mad:

Kongwe, it's not a bug. You have to buy the Ferasans on the tribble server to unlock facials for Caitians. Transferring doesn't count.

My friend Sutherland has confirmed Ferasa is a space map during one of the new Undine missions!

What I want to figure out is exactly what Cryptic thinks Ferasa is supposed to be. You get Ferasan duty officers from the Gamma Quadrant box, but Ferasans in the KDF should indicate Alpha Quadrant. And then, Memory Alpha confirms Alpha Quadrant by stating Ferasa to be in the same solar system as Cait, 15 Lyncis, which would place it in Romulan territory, in the vicinity of Haakona (that massive station in the Vault mission). Memory Beta confirms Ferasa to be the Caitian language word for what we call Cait, so they are the same planet, and that this is the only habitable planet in the system. So Caitians and Ferasans are simultaneously living on the same planet, like how we have Cougars and Jaguars on the same planet. So this means that the Ferasans evolved their fur colour because they either live in the polar region, or in caves deep underground.

i can tell you right now, that is dead wrong in STO, as the group that eventually became the caitians left the ferasan homeworld after sabotaging the emerging ferasan eugenics program some several hundred years ago

But where is that written? I looked, and it is nowhere in the STO Wiki, or anywhere else for that matter. I trust a Wiki over a roleplayer's story.

No. You must actually "buy" the unlock for Ferasans on tribble.

Ferasans live on another planet. A new "Ferasa/" Their fur color comes from genetic experiments.

In which case, we have more conflicting information. Memory Alpha states they are both in the same solar system. From an astrophysics standpoint, having two planets inside a star's "Habitable Zone" is within the realm of possibility, but very rare.

And then you have Memory Beta saying they are the same planet. Take Earth's many nations for example. The Russian word is "Rossiya," the Norwegian word is "Noreg," the Swedish word is "Sverige," and the German word is "Deutschland." Just because your local language (English?) has a name for something does not mean that is the real name. And that is what Memory Beta was meaning when it said "Ferasa" is the Caitian word for their homeworld.

So, whom shall be believe? From a credibility standpoint, Memory Alpha is the official Star Trek Wiki, so I am inclined to take their word over Beta.

Indeed, the Ferasan species does not. But if you look at this page, you will see the planet is named. Look under "Member Worlds."

But that is exactly what I mean. Was it a split? And if so, which came first, and which split off? Or with a near identical species on two planets, were they intentionally seeded, as per the Preservers supposedly creating all "humanoid" species? No Wiki has the answer, so it is all the imaginations of roleplayers.

The Caitians are the original form of the Ferasans. They refused to participate in the genetic experiments and broke off. The Ferasans you see now are those who performed the genetic mutations.
