Gillian: Flawed statement. She lost both times so the analogy is lost and invalidated.
Dani: We both know that she didn't realise that you go all out from the start. If she had, she could have won. Tara is very good at adapting to changing situations quickly.
*Republic GR6 (Genetic Research 6), Training Area. Clark and Warren look out a large window where hundreds of Comanche are training.*
Clark: How many can you make?
Warren: That depends on performance.
*Clark turns to him.*
Right now, we could put out 3 battalions in 6 months. Maybe 4 with government funding.
The problem is, if we need to change something in them, that number could go up or down.
Until then, 1st and 2nd Battalions are all you've got.
Clark: We need more.
Warren: Vice President, one of these soldiers is worth a whole squad of Assault Ops. That means that one of these battalions is worth an entire division!
They weren't turn the tide of war, but they will turn the tide of battle. And one battle can turn the tide of war...
*He turns to face Clark.*
If you choose them carefully enough.
*Clark looks out the window again.*
Clark: Are they ready?
Warren: Ask me again in a week.
Clark: We need these troops, Doctor.
*Clark walks out. An Aide walks over to Warren.*
Aide: Doctor, there's a problem.
Warren: What is it?
Aide: C295.
Warren: 1st Batallion, 2nd Company, right?
Aide: Right now, yes.
Warren: What's the problem?
Aide: He's... asking questions.
*Warren raises an eyebrow.*
Warren: That shouldn't be happening.
Aide: Should I terminate--?
Warren: No. I want you to see how many of the Comanche are demonstrating this behaviour. Bring 295 here.
Aide: Yes, doctor.
*The Aide walks out. Warren walks over to the console. The console shows 5 different sets of armour that are being considered for the Assault Ops. He brings up one, designated 'Mk VII Vanguard'.*
Warren: Paradigm, you never learn. The military doesn't want armour that takes more to replace than their own troops. They want quality and quantity. Luckily...
*He looks out the window.*
Warren: I don't.
Athena.
*A blue feminine holographic figure appears next to him.*
Athena: Doctor?
Warren: Put in an order with Paradigm for 5,000 Vanguard VIIs.
Athena: Sure. Should I use more of the Director's money?
Warren: He's funded most of this project already. He's happy to do more.
Athena: Do you want me to stay for when 295 gets here?
Warren: Athena, you're an AI. You're always here, even when your image is on the other side of the station.
Athena: You know what I mean.
Warren: If you want to stay, by all means.
Did you put in that order?
Athena: While you were speaking.
*The door opens as an Archangel escorts one of the Comanches in. The Comanche is wearing a grey T-shirt and Black Combat Trousers with the number 295 stitched onto his shirt.*
C295: I look at the other humans on this station and... I see that they are each performing different tasks differently. They each have a unique purpose. What is mine?
Warren: Ah...
You and your fellow Comanches were created to be the perfect soldiers. You're purpose is to fight the battles other soldiers could not. Most of all, you're the ones to turn the tide. It's a great burden, 295.
C295: So, we each serve the same purpose?
Warren: No. Some of you will be medics, drivers, pilots, riflemen...
C295: But we will still not have a unique purpose.
Warren: Well...
*Warren freezes for a few moments.*
C295: Doctor?
Warren: We each make our own purpose in life.
C295: But we aren't like ordinary humans. We do not choose to be warriors. We simply are.
Warren: True, but even warriors create their own purpose. Your greater purpose may be to fight, but as individuals... who can say but you?
C295: And who do we fight?
Warren: Right now? The Eblisi. Ultimately, you go where you're needed.
I see the future of warfare in you, C295. Now you'll have to prove me right.
Anything else?
C295: No. Thank you, Doctor.
*Warren nods as he walks out.*
Warren: Athena, how many are displaying these symptoms?
Athena: Only 10.
Warren: 10 in 2000.
Athena: Do you want them terminated?
Warren: No. Far from it...
We have a squad's worth of soldiers with questions. 1 of those for every company.
I think we found our leaders, Athena.
I want daily reports on each of them.
Athena: Of course, Doctor.
Warren: I'll be here in person by tomorrow.
*Warren vanishes as his holo-comm shuts down.*
Athena: Right... Should I tell Clark you're leaving?
Ackerson sits in his quarters in the prowler as it heads back to reach to start their " investigation". The door choke sounds.
Ackerson puts down the padd he was reading.
Ackerson: come in.
Spartan Kurt in full Phoenix armor walks in holding his helmet.
Kurt: sir can we talk.
Ackerson: of course. Have a seat. What's ok your mind.
Kurt: sir it's just that I was wondering. If our mission is to halt UNITS investigation and create a false one from ONI why bother with it in the first place.
Ackerson: a good question. Let me put it in these terms. ONI believes that Vice President Clark is dangerous if he ever where to become president. ONI has plans in place to help the rebels just enough to be a problem. And we will provide them with the chance to eliminate Clark.
Kurt: that does make some good sense.
Ackerson: you will learn how ONI plans ands thinks as you work with us.
Kurt: am I the only spartan to work with ONI.
Ackerson: yes the others will be deployed all over the galaxy working for navcomm.
Kurt: thank you sir. I should go make sure everything's ready for when we arrive.
Ackerson watches as the young spartan walks out the sound of his heavy foot steps echo in the hall.

Maelstrom reviewed the data, and as he did, it would be transferred via quantum entanglement to the collective.

The star was slowly waking. It had the telemetry provided by Admiral Hammonds from its brother at Lanco. It had analyzed the nearby Eblisi vessels' trajectories. The collective spoke to it, "Attempt to fire a spore into the electromagnetic shields of one of the ships. We are hoping it will embed itself in the field of the shields, not damage them, and find its way back into the shield generator and then the ships systems. From what we understand these are sentient ships. We may be able to form another entangled nano-singularity in its core and communicate with it. The consciousness of the ships are likely similar to ours, they must have some electromagnetic base to generate their shields. However, they obviously rely on some form of machinery be it biological or mechanical to generate them. The spore will be instructed to identify their centers of consciousness and make contact."
Qo'nos responded, "Yes Mother." The stars magnetic field aligned in such a way it generated a Coronal Mass Ejection and an X19 class solar falre. The CME carried several fractal patterned payloads. They would be on a trajectory to impact with the Eblisi ships. Other than the fractals, it would look like normal star behavior. Qo'nos was hoping the Eblisi would think it just that.

O'Connor: The Eblisi stopped all nuclear fusion within the sun! It's similar to what happened at Armagosa in 2370!
Sir, the Romulans are moving.
They're firing something into the sun!
*He puts the tactical display on screen, showing a warbird travelling toward the star at low warp and a small projectile moving ahead of it.
Outside, the projectile enters the sun and a burst of white light occurs as the star brightens, revitalised.*
I'm picking up twilight energy and a new fusion reaction.
The Romulans fires on Obliterator warhead into the star. Ironic.
The warbird is ejecting huge amounts of hydrogen and deuterium into the stars photosphere.
*OOC: Yeah, I'm not letting you blow up the system. Just saying that now. We've already done that with the Tholians.*
Old Man: Its not broken by the way but you still should get it fixed and eased.
Tara: Trust me, it's fine. I've had worse.
*She remembers one of her early brawls with Samana, before Samana taught her Cor'i. She tries to hit Samana, with Samana cathing it and flipping her over the shoulder before pressing her knee against Tara's bicep. Tara remembers the excruciating pain as her arm cracked during that brawl.
