Ryan: Earth is my home. I grew up in Ipswich, in the UK.
Have you seen what happened to the British Isles?
Dorman: Yeah... Not all that different than here and in River City. I was in San Fransisco bay area for the longest time... even during the invasion.. I couldn't do a damn thing to help everyone. There is nothing left of San Fransisco...
Varnak: With Holtz dead reverse engineering will be difficult at best even with his notes... His son since he received the news is on leave to be with the family he has left seeing to a service. I do have doubts that this kind of thing will last very long or be well received. Has Fali given any hints at helping us given his quarrel with the Dominion...
Hammond: It's not Fali's choice. The majority of Synthesisers are Lancosians. It was Samantha Allington's Synthesiser's choice how to proceed.
Or, at least, as far as they were concerned.
John: Commander, I've spent my whole life studying the Iconians.
Hammond: That's why you're here, Captain.
Commander, the Dominion are helping in the war. This is a war for survival. If Fali wants his people to survive, he'll have to deal with the Dominion.
And, if I may ask, why would this not be 'well-recieved'?
Dorman: Yeah... Not all that different than here and in River City. I was in San Fransisco bay area for the longest time... even during the invasion.. I couldn't do a damn thing to help everyone. There is nothing left of San Fransisco...
Ryan: London's still intact... mostly. But they wiped Harwich and Inverness off the map.
I spent one night in Ipswich. Even from there, you could see the flames from Harwich...
Hammond: It's not Fali's choice. The majority of Synthesisers are Lancosians. It was Samantha Allington's Synthesiser's choice how to proceed.

Varnak: War is never that predictable Admiral... nor will be member reactions or their plots. It may be ideal but if anything has shown it is that the public is highly illogical and so are the members in power. The Synthesizers need to be unified we cannot afford another interm conflict like with the Romulans. Not to mention has the director of the Tal Shiar been arrested?

John: No. He wasn't on Romulus when the revolt took place.
Praetor Vornak is looking for him, though.
Hammond: Commander, for the time being, this operation is going to be the most active in terms of looking for ways to stop the Eblisi, at least until Angel Halo is completed, and your government, as well as everyone else, has a voice in it.
John: If we can't get Angel Halo finished before the Eblisi find it, then the Gateway is our last hope.
Hammond: Whether it's by finding a way to fight back or by evacuating as many people through it as we can.
Ryan: London's still intact... mostly. But they wiped Harwich and Inverness off the map.
I spent one night in Ipswich. Even from there, you could see the flames from Harwich...
My home is burning... and I can't stop it.
Dorman: I am in the same boat Ryan... I saw reports of New York... still burning even this long after initial strikes. Williams over there lost his folks and everything in Newark... Seeing it makes me angry and wants this constant warfare we have been in to end. Look at me.. You know how long I have been at this... I am tired... this war might actually kill me. But at least I know that it won't be for nothing if it does happen.
John: No. He wasn't on Romulus when the revolt took place.

Varnak: I am not arguing its value. Admiral Bright would not have sent me other wise. He too is looking to continue project Kronos... and impart it to your governments..

Ryan: But how much is going to be left? Half of the African Union is gone, along with Luna One. I just don't see us being able to rebuild.
Varnak: I am not arguing its value. Admiral Bright would not have sent me other wise. He too is looking to continue project Kronos... and impart it to your governments..
John: I thought the Republic was already contributing?
Hammond: Is Kronos becoming an historical landmark for superweapons nowadays?
John: I thought the Republic was already contributing?
Hammond: Is Kronos becoming an historical landmark for superweapons nowadays?
Varnak: Its not a weapons project. It is a landmark in FTL drives.. Holtz's instantaneous travel drive is still on going... Fold space drive are part of it..
Varnak: Its not a weapons project. It is a landmark in FTL drives.. Holtz's instantaneous travel drive is still on going... Fold space drive are part of it..
John: If this Gateway Project gets rolling, you might find that all that hard work is made redundant soon.
Hammond: Gentlemen.
The Republic GE teams are already here. I'd ask you to ensure the teams from your own governments arrive shortly.
And I'd like you to meet us in the Control Room at 0900 hours tomorrow morning. We'll be dialling the gate.
*0900 hours the following morning. Hammond is standing in the Gateway Control Room with Lasky, Varnak, K'trell (Klingon JOC representative), Subcommander Torann (Romulan JOC representative) and Synthesiser Sam.
In the Gateway Room, John is wearing a marine uniform with a team of 4 RNFMC.*
John *Over Comm*: Trust me, Varnak, you're going to love this!
Hammond: GE-1, are you ready to go?
Colonel John Harrison *Over Comm*: Affirmative, Admiral.
Hammond: Dial the original programme's first gate.
Lieutenant: Aye, sir. Dialling Cariman... *he punches the beacon codes into the computer.*
Now!
*He taps the execute command.
The Gateway hums to life. The symbols along the rim of the gateway fully glow blue as they begin to flash in series clock-wise. The Gate stops on one, generators at the top and the "4-o'clock position" pulsing blue, the top one disengaging as the flashing switches direction.*
Beacon Group 1 registered!
*The flashing stops on another symbol and the top generator and "8-O'clock" generator pulse.*
Beacon Group 2 registered!
*The flashing switches direction again, stopping on another symbol and pulsing the "2-O'clock" and top generators, before reversing direction once more.*
Beacon Group 3 registered!
*The flashing lands on yet another symbol, pulsing the generators at the "10-O'clock" and top positions before switching direction one last time.*
Beacon Group 4 registered!
*The flashing stops on the symbol directly below the top generator, pulsing it.*
Beacon Group 5 is locked on!
*All 5 generators launch a pulse into the centre of the Gateway as it opens.*
Gateway established!
*Beyond the Gateway they can see a large city square, seemingly mid-21st Century-level technology.*
Hammond: Looks like they moved the gate...
GE-1, you are cleared to proceed. Check in every 2 hours.
Harrison *Over Comm*: Understood, Admiral.
*The team steps through the Gateway and it shuts down.*
Lieutenant: Gateway terminated.
Hammond: Well, gentlemen, your thoughts?
*Carriman Gateway. GE-1 find themselves standing atop a podium which the gateway is mounted on. They see a series of automobiles abandoned on the streets as they are surrounded by crowds looking at them.*
Harrison: Captain, this wasn't in the briefing.
John: Last we knew, the Gateway had been moved to a facility in the Cargan Alliance - a neutral faction.
Harrison: Those don't look like military personnel.
John: No, they don't.
Just play it cool.
*They hear sirens as the local law enforcement arrives.*
Everyone... put your weapons on the ground.
*The team slowly place their Phaser carbines on the ground and stand loosely as the police arrive, hanging back.*
Lasky: it is impressive. If we can get this information and technology to work on a large scale and help find more like it could help turn the tide. And from the information I've read you didn't disappoint. I've been in contact with General Strauss he's going to send delta squad here. Delta is the unsc first contact squad and highly specialized in diplomacy as well as conventional and unconventional combat tactics. They should arrive tomorrow at the latest.
" Now the gate has been unlatched headstones pushed aside; corpses shift and offer room ,a fate you must abide."
