    My Dad had my mother executed, my sister hates her memory, and I'm subject to slurs because I'm not pure-blooded Trill or Terran. Can you blame me for being angry?

    A few things Admiral Forrester told me to warn you about; Republic Starship Protocol functions a bit differently to how it works on Federation Vessels. Shifts are a little more flexible, recreation is a lot more liberal, and personnel training is more militant, for example.

    Mitchell: There's more. As First Officer, I'm required to inform you if I think you are endangering the crew with no good reason, if the crew is mutinous, or if I feel the mood of the crew is precarious. I also act as Ship's Counsellor.

    Other than that, you can order ship protocol as you wish.

    But I would recommend reading up on what the crew expects.
