Rachel/Senshibat/Winters -favor to ask. Given your way with words - see previous rap battle posts - would it be possible to put together something for the upcoming Christmas holiday? Say something to the tune of "Twas the Night before Christmas" like. Again just a humble request.
Twas the night before Qmas, when all through the galaxy
Not a Civilization was stirring, not even a Klingon.
The Phaser Rifles were hung by the armory with care,
In hopes that St. Q soon would be there.
The redshirts were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of living though a mission danced in their heads.
And The XO in her ?kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brainslugs for a long winter?s nap.
When out of the airlock there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to theviewport I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moons of Risa on the breast of the new-formed stars
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature red capsule, and eight tinny rocketeers.
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Q.
More rapid than Remans his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Capulet! now, Phoenix_Lord! now, JCSWW and rachelj88!
On, senshibat! On, fencer8! on, on voporak and Dstahl!
To the top of the Bridge! to the top of the Hull!
Now rocket away! Rocket away! Rocket away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild ion storm fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the stars.
So up tge galactic plane the rocketeers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Phasers, and St Q too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the Bridge
The prancing and pounding of each little boot.
As I drew in my phaser, and was turning around,
Down the turbolift, St Q. came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Phasers he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a pakled, just opening his pack.
His eyes-how they twinkled with star light! his dimples how mischevious!
His cheeks were like red giants, his nose like a red dwarf!
His immortal little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the goatee of his chin was as white as the snow.
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a no belly,
That shook all the same when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly Q,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread (this time).
He spoke too many a word, and went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a snap, up the turbolift he rose!
He sprang to his capsule, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all warped away like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ?ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Qmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
Twas the night before Christmas, when I let down my hair.
my crew where all relaxed and without despair.
it had been a while since they had been without care.
their bodies warm and without that winter chill.
awaiting the nights festivities, which would offer a thrill.
when the night drew near, the bridge became clear.
I enjoyed brief silence while sipping my tea.
being humbled by my crews thoughtful glee.
not much time had passed, my eyes drew heavy at last.
I knew it was time to call it a night.
waiting for the mornings delight.
When morning drew near, I awoke to overhear.
that everyone was awake, no time did they take.
to be full of song and to bright with cheer.
never before have I felt so in delight.
that I sat upright and turned on the light.
to my suprise as my eyes adjusted to the sight.
something I recognise, presents had materialised.
gifts from the crew, so many not too few.
I couldn't believe what I saw.
to my amazement, it just filled me with awe.
I opened the gifts one by one.
and each one my eyes glistened and shone.
a lovely new tea cup from my engineer.
a pretty set of flowers from my daughter dear.
I could list them all but I'd fill you with envy.
but you could too if I heard your story.
about all the times you had gained such glory.
so I'll finish this with a simple kiss. X
and hope that your Christmas is as lovely as this.
