I miss Gonalda station. Stopped in a few days ago and it is deserted. It would be sorta keen if KDF had any reason to congregate there again. I don't know what the reason would be, I just know it was cool having a KDF base that felt important.
Things to keep in mind -- KDF at end of 2010 was constrained to Omega Leonis, Eta Eridani, Gamma Orionis, and Pi Canis was only opened in the last few weeks of the year.
February: Toron shuttle (free), Dujhod Chariot shuttle (400 day vet reward), access to Psi Velorum
May: To'duj Fighter (C-Store)
July: Major revamp to First City, Gorn revamp, access opened up to Regulus, Alpha Centauri, Iota Pavonis, Beta Ursae, Alpha Trianguli, Zeta Andromedae (essentially everywhere but Sirius)
September: Vor'cha Refit (C-Store)
October: K't'inga Refit (C-Store)
December: Klingon Academy added, Honor Guard space and ground sets added, access to Sirius and Deep Space 9, huge number of C-Store ships (Norgh Bird-of-Prey Refit, Qorgh Raptor Refit, Vandal Destroyer, Phalanx Science Vessel, Dacoit Flight-Deck Cruiser, Ki'tang Bird-of-Prey Refit, Scourge Destroyer, Draguas Support Vessel, Corsair Flight-Deck Cruiser), Lethean bridge officers (some with efficient), transwarps possible for Regulus, Alpha Centauri, and Beta Ursae via leveling up in Marauder, cross-faction Federation race bridge officers (Rank 4 Marauder)
2012 will be just like 2011, 2010 and before.... little small additions to placate our fanbase and not much real PvE content.
We will continue to be blasted as being Op by the fed playerbase while they chew us apart in PvP and while the Devs explain to us that the KDF just doesn't have the numbers to justify its completion as a faction just yet, but they really want too.
I am afraid your right. The past has shown us that this will happen.

Yes and federation got Type-8 Shuttlecraft, Captain's Yacht, Delta Class Shuttle, Peregrine Attack Fighter, Tal'Kyr Support Craft, Class F Shuttle. So that Six plus the one they had compare to 3. 50% less.
[*]July: Major revamp to First City, Gorn revamp, access opened up to Regulus, Alpha Centauri, Iota Pavonis, Beta Ursae, Alpha Trianguli, Zeta Andromedae (essentially everywhere but Sirius)[/LIST]
Yes before that we had what 2 sectors? While the federation had access to everything.
[*]September: Vor'cha Refit (C-Store)

How many ships did Federation get in 2011? How many ships did they have at launch of the game? How many free ships those the federation have compare to KDF? Federation also go Maco space and ground access. As for access for Deep Space 9 and Siruis. How long had federation had access to both?
And as far as Deep Space 9 goes How many bases those the Federation have compare to KDF?
Let See ESD, Star Fleet Academy, Memory Alpha, K7, Starbase 39 and DS9,
KDF has First City, KDF Academy, Ganalda Station and know Deep Space 9. DS9 is know share. Yet the Federation still has 5 exclusive zone compare to 3 for KDF.
Yes the KDF got some stuff in 2011. But the federation got a ton more. Just like the federation got ton more since the game launched.
Before you say the KDF was suppose to be a PVP faction. I direct you to this video. Dated Aug 24, 2008
Bottom line is to date it all talk and little action as far as KDF goes. Maybe that chance. Recent events since 5 seem to sugest it. But I know I been burn way to many times to trust anything cryptic says about kdf. Season 4 broke the trust. I am know on Do or do not, do not talk.

While its true we have seen many much needed improvements to the KDF...
Make KDF content, make it right, and more than 18% of the players will play it.
I must agree with piwright42.
You have to have something besides shinnies to bring in the seriuos Klingon fan and keep them playing.
I am such a fan and after two years my passion has waned to the point of actually thinking of playing feds just so I can have something to do on a regular basis that is not the same thing I have seen for the last two years and counting. I know that playing fed will eventually get old as well, but at least it will take longer than a month of KDF play to do everything.
It seems the point was missed on my previous post. It was not an advocacy of any agenda, only stating what was objectively added to the Klingon faction.
Obviously it's an incomplete faction and this is an extremely well known fact to Cryptic and Perfect World. It's easy for some players to forget what actually was accomplished last year, and my post was merely to illustrate that.

Then I offer my apoligies if my reply was too caustic and had the sound of being bitter in temperment, though I am a bitter KDF fan.

It seem to me your point is we should thank Cryptic for what we got? At least that the way I read it.
Frankly if anyone is to be thank it be PW. Nothing changed for KDF until they took over.
Now to be fair perhaps it was more Atari's fault. But I am not interested in fault. I want to faction finished. Not in another 700 days, or another 200 days.
Frankly I think they should stop all Federation content till they finish the KDF faction. But I know that never going to happen.
And I fairly sure we still be having this conversation in 2013. because while we did get some stuff in later half of 2011, it was a tiny drop in bucket.
I will say that KDF faction is better at the end of 2011 then it was at 2010 or 2009, but when you start out bottom of barrel the only place to go is up.
I'll say this much: I have 1 fed toon that I play on and 4 kdf characters that I play regularly on. I started playing this game about 6 weeks before the 1-year anniversary. I played a fed until level 6, created a Klingon character, and deleted my fed character. It wasn't until after I got fed up (no pun intended) with the grind of leveling a kdf to about 35 that I started exploring a fed character. KDF are my mains.
While I'm hopeful about getting new episodes, I'm also not holding my breath. I've replayed the Feklhri story arc on elite, because I thought klingon demons weren't scary enough the first time around, and really enjoyed the story much more when they had the dps to back me into a corner (so to speak).
I really hope cryptic makes the right decision and makes some new exclusive episodes for us Klingon fans. They really were my favorite episodes in the movies and tv series, and they are here as well.
Territory Control / Border Disputes - TRIBBLE the Borg Invasion of Defera, where the hell is the Klingon Invasion of Defera? The Empire came to their aid during the Breen FE and have received sweet nothing for the trouble! Outrageous! LOL :P It would be fun if, somehow, the Deferi could be the subject of a territory expansion stand-off between the Feds and KDF - with each fighting for some mineral resource or tactical advantage somehow indigineous to Deferi space. The stand-off could potentially go-on indefinately and give the PVP players some love with territory control, whilst also progressing the backstory post Breen FE.
Rura Penthe "Prison Break" Daily - Come on now, what KDF captain can honestly say that surpressing or responding to an outbreak on Rura Penthe wouldn't be fun? The zone is already there, prime for utilisation. It could bring Feds into it (with them actively trying to recover specific prisoners). Again, this could be PVE or PVP...or (wait for it....)...BOTH! It would give all players, regardless of faction, something to do (when they're not busy scouting sector and system space for DOFF assignments!).
Homeworld Additions - It's been said before by players more seasoned than myself, but the KDF just isn't what it should be without some political intrigue and back-biting between the Great Houses. Deposing Jm'pok - hell yeah, I'm all for that. No High Chancellor can hold so much as a Dk'Tagh to the sheer awesomeness of Martok. How about if a system was put in place where the player could do certain daily missions for increase faction points for a specific house, similar to other MMOs - (am thinking the two clans in GW:Factions)? Also, with the courthouse building already there effectively on First City, and with the Judge sitting outside randomly insulting passers-by, it would be cool for some kind of repeatable / daily mission whereby the player could defend a BOFF on court-martial or even be on the prosecution against an NPC? Those episodes of Trek were always fun and this would be a great way to add a flavour of the TV series into what it means to be a ST captain on STO. Kind of like a Fed and KDF version of JAG.
Klingon vs. Romulan PVE Story-Arc - Let's face it, Trek just isn't Trek without these two legendary factions stabbing each other in the back at some inconvinient juncture in time, usually with the Feds raising an eyebrow on the sidelines! The Reman FE was fantastic and opens the door to all manner of opportunities for KDF/Rommie confrontation.
I agree with all of this. But I would like to add one thing:
44 KDF-Exclusive Storyline PvE missions, enough to bring them to parity with the Federation.
Frankly if anyone is to be thank it be PW. Nothing changed for KDF until they took over.
I disagree. PWE did nothing that wasn't in their own financial interests. They didn't give us KDF ships because they wanted to even out the playing field and give KDF Science Officers ships to fly. They gave us +1 C-Store KDF Ships so they could get our money and the money of Silver players.
They didn't revamp the Gorn or the First City because we wanted it, they revamped them because they were lame and they can't attract or retain the money-patronage of the F2P crowd with lame stuff.
They haven't given us one bit of exclusive (storyline) content. They haven't given us any (permanently) free ships, they haven't fixed PvP or the cloak bug (actually made Cloaks worse with the Bortas)..
I do not see any reason to be thankful to PWE when all PWE has done has been motivated by greed, and not a desire to make a better game for the players.

By Kahless leftie - yes. SO much would love to see this level of parity acheaved for us KDF fans.
It would be nice to not have to repeat the same thing over and over again ad nausieum just to level up a Klink. Some variety and a storyline that makes since would be awesome.

I agree, while PWE has said make a full and working KDF faction, it is worrisome when the newest KDF mission due to be released evidently is still a work of one Devs love and devotion and not backed evidently by teh PWE growth concept.
Given thatPWE wants a full KDF faction, I have expected more than a little bit at a time growth concept that was talked about in the latest podcasts, though I am happy to see any improvement.
