Ships account wide or per character post Season 5?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has purchased ships after the launch of Season 5 and noticed whether these unlocks are per character or account wide? I know things used to be account wide, but I'm a little unclear as to if they are or not anymore.

For example, I buy a Defiant Retrofit on character A. Will my other characters B and C also be able to claim a Defiant Retrofit each, or would I have to purchase the ship three times for them all to have it?

    I was actually wondering this as well. It makes no mention either way in the c-store. It really should say something like, once you buy this, any character on the account can unlock it. Or the other way if it isn't. For me, this is actually the reason why I haven't purchased any ships yet.

    Another thing that would be useful to know is if whether or not you will be able to unlock them per character when they reach that level. For example, I just started a new character, and am at Lt. Cmdr. now, but my other character is Vice Admiral, if I bought a VA ship on the character, would it unlock when the Lt. Cmdr. reached that level as well?

    Per forum posts from the DEVs, ship unlock will remain account wide. Hopefully that policy won't change in the future.

    I can verify that this is still currently true in game (as of yesterday, I claimed my Defiant Retrofit on my Tac who just made VA...I bought it originally with my Eng.)
