I have just added a 4th Nagus Daily: Boarding Party. In this mission you go to Starfleet Academy for a holodeck simulation where you defend your ship against enemy boarding parties. And of course, the enemies will be different every day
Quick question: some types of NPCs(Romulan, Hirogen, Breen, etc) require make the mission require a certain level to play it. Do you think I should use these types of NPCs when their turns come up or simply put a Rom/Hir/Br "costume" on a type of NPC that doesnt have level requirements?
Today's versions are up! Also, a 5th daily has been added: Colony Defense - defend a small colony against invaders. Please note that today's version of "Distress Call" and "Boarding Party" require certain levels to play due to the types of NPCs used, so if you are below the required level they will not show up.

I think what ever is easier for you to update every day is fine? People that run these dailies are usually folks at end game so the level isn't that much of an issue. What ever you do will be appreciaed.

Today's versions are up! Please note that "Station Supply" and "Colony Defense" have level requirements today so if you are below that level they will not show up. Also there will be no updates for the next 2 days due to holiday travel. However the new versions will go live Sunday night EST so check back then
I'm planning on using it for a daily Klingon mission I just finished (if people seem to enjoy it of course).
I only have one map done for it now, but tomorow and within the next few days, I plan to add several other maps to rotate through. Again, a great idea.
It's called, 'The Gauntlet Daily'.
If all goes well, the enemies and the gauntlet itself will change daily.
I can only do one daily right now as all my other slots are full with a series...

BTW, the new versions are now up. "Station Supply" and "Colony Defense" have level requirements, so if you are below that level they wont show up.
The new versions are up! Today "Colony Defense" and "Station Supply" have level requirements. I have also made a few changes to "Distress Call"(new maps) and "Colony Defense"(you speak with the colony leader in person after the mission).
Greetings everyone! I'm happy to tell you about a little project I am working on: The Nagus Dailies. In a nutshell these are short 5 minute Foundry missions that are each based around a common "Trek" theme and can be played every day to complete the Foundry daily and get your 3 emblems(soon to be dillithium).
Why would you want to play the same missions every day? Well, they wont be same. At least not exactly. Each mission will have the same general Trek based theme each day, and the themes are:
Distress Call - rescue a ship under attack(space combat)
Strange New World - perform the first ground survey of an unexplored planet(optional ground combat)
Station Supply - resupply several remote research stations(optional space combat)
Boarding Party - a simulation where you defend your ship against boarding parties(ground combat)
Colony Defense - defend a small colony against raiders(ground combat)
I hope you enjoy these missions, and if you do please share them with your fleet[/COLOR]

Report Start
Summary: For a series of daily missions that you plan to update each day these are all great missions. Im sure they will draw lots of players in and they will thoroughly enjoy them. The concept is also an excellent idea. The map designs are great and all the battles were tough but not impossible. The story dialog was excellent. I would recommend these missions to anyone who likes great map designs with nice simple plot dialog and tough battles.
I mention the use of "Continue" as a response button for all the "Grant Mission dialog" and maps. I just think it is better to have the player respond in some way to the dialog being displayed. This is particularly true when it comes to a report from the bridge officers and away team members. That is not to say there isnt dialog where a response of "Continue" makes sense but that would be when the player is reading a computer log or something along those lines.
Below are a couple of things I noted while playing each mission that I wanted to let you know about. Everything in this write up should be seen as suggestions on ways I felt you could improve certain elements of the mission. They are yours to do with as you see fit.
Mission Description: The descriptions are well written and very detailed for each mission. I noted no spelling or grammatical errors in any of them.
Grant Mission Dialog: The dialog for all the missions is well written. I noted no spelling or grammatical errors with this dialog. I noted only a couple of items in each to consider changing:
For "Distress Call": ST-HTEBZM9LK
-Consider changing the response button "Continue" for the first dialog to read "What happened to the signal" or something along those lines. Consider changing the second response button "Continue" to read "Set course for Wolf 359" or something along those lines.
For "Strange New World": ST-HHHFZQTU2
-Consider changing the response button "Continue" to read "Set course for the Kei system" or something along those lines.
For "Station Supply": ST-HRWNGTRIV
-Consider changing the response button "Continue" to read "Set course for the Beytan system" or something along those lines.
For "Boarding Party": ST-HF3B59XQV
-Consider changing the response button "Continue" to read "Acknowledged" or something along those lines.
For "Colony Defense": ST-HEZA8J4ZQ
-Consider changing the first dialog response button "Continue" to read "Where was that signal from" or something along those lines.
-Consider changing the second dialog response button "Continue" to read "Set course for the Pellme system" or something along those lines.
Mission Task: Consider adding the location of the first custom map to the task for all the missions.
Mission Entry Prompt: This is a very good use of the prompt for all missions. I noted no spelling or grammatical errors with this prompt.
MAPS: For "Distress Call" map: Distress Call: This is a great map design and the battles are tough but not impossible. I noted no spelling or grammatical errors with this dialog or any issues with the map. I noted only one thing to consider changing:
-Consider changing the response buttons "Continue" to something appropriate to each dialog. For the initial dialog you could use "We shall see" or something like that.
For "Strange New World" map: New World H: The map design is excellent. The optional battles where definitely a nice touch. I did notice that they seemed to be along the most direct path to the next survey site. I noted no spelling or grammatical errors with this dialog or any issues with the map. I noted a couple of items to consider changing:
-The initial dialog; consider changing the response button "Continue" to read "Very well" or something along those lines.
-The final mission dialog; consider changing the response button "Continue" to read "Acknowledged" or something along those lines.
For "Station Supply" map: Resupply Stations B: The map design is very well done. The battles are tough but not impossible to beat. The dialog is well written. I noted no spelling or grammatical errors with this dialog or any issues with the map. I noted a couple of items to consider changing:
-The initial dialog; consider changing the response button "Continue" to read "Very well" or something along those lines.
-The "Resupply station Alpha" dialog; consider changing the response button "Continue" to read "Always happy to help" or something along those lines.
-The "Resupply station Beta" dialog; consider changing the response button "Continue" to read "Good luck" or something along those lines.
-The "Resupply station Gamma" dialog; consider changing the response button "Continue" to read "Will do" or something along those lines.
For "Boarding Party" map: Holodeck C: This is a well designed map. The battles are outstanding, tough but not impossible to beat. I noted no spelling or grammatical errors with this dialog or any issues with the map. I note only one item to consider changing:
-Post battles dialog; consider changing the response button "Continue" to read "Great job everybody" or something along those lines.
For "Colony Defense" map: Colony Defense G: The map design is very well done. The battles are very tough but not unbeatable. I noted no spelling or grammatical errors with this dialog or any issues with the map. I note only one item to consider changing:
-The "Speak with Colony Leader" dialog; consider changing the response button "Continue" to read "Our pleasure" or something along those lines.

Thanks for authoring and for giving me the chance to review your work. These are all great concepts for the daily mission. I thoroughly enjoyed them all and I am sure everyone else will enjoy them and appreciate your efforts to update them daily.

TYVM for your detailed review and suggestions! I kind of hate putting words in other player's "mouths"(and I personally dont consider the "continue" button to be a real part of the conversation dialog when it only says "continue"), but I think it might be possible to insert some very generic responses like you suggested without imposing too much on each player's own vision of their character's personality. Thanks again for your review!
Well it looks like the dailies have not yet been auto-republished after the S5 launch so they arent currently showing up if you search for them. I also cannot log into the editor so I may not be able to do a new version tonight, but hopefully we'll be back on track tomorrow

I totally see your point regarding "putting words in other players mouths". It is the author's choice on how to handle that particular element of the Foundry. For me I look at it as the author is telling the story and therefore must sometimes put words into the players mouths to drive the story forward. That is the reason I note that on missions. However, as you said, it is a personal preference. Each author has their own style of writing and to me the important thing is the story getting across to the player as you intend. Of course in short missions like these it is easy to say yes... I'm glad I was able to offer any help at all.
Thanks again for authoring and especially for the level of commitment you are putting into creating these and updating as often as you intend to.

Hello all! From the beginning this project has been something of an experiment for me. I hadnt seen anyone else try a mission that was updated every day, so I thought it would be interesting to do. What I learned was that if this were your job(looks at Cryptic) this should be very easy to do. However I also learned that as a hobby it can be time consuming, and take time away from actually playing the game =P
I also realized that there are more missions I wanted to create than the 3 original dailies, which added to the amount of time needed to update each one every day. So with all of that in mind I have decided to change the way the Nagus Dailies work, and you can read about that in the new thread:
After this post please let this thread die and continue all conversation regarding the Nagus Dailies in the new thread. Thanks to everyone thats played so far and for all the feedback. I hope you enjoy the new dailies that are being added and continue enjoying the current dailies each week
