No doubt! But I think that many people do those missions simply because they dont want to spend a ton of time doing 3 lengthy foundry missions, not because they dont want to actually play the game. I hope my dailies will allow people who want to do the daily quickly to do so while still having fun playing the game :)

I think we should all petition cryptic to give nagus a job. wise indeed sir. i really like that idea and am surprised it wasnt thought of sooner, much less thought of at cryptic. anyway you can give us emblesm for these dailies too lol:D

Honestly, they kind of did do this with star clusters. Like I said, I'm not breaking any new ground here, this is really just aimed at making the Foundry daily fun and quick without the "need" to do the exploit missions. And btw, you can get emblems for these; just accept the Foundry daily mission before you do them :D

Unfortunately yes. I dont think I would have the time to do this every day for both factions, although it would be very nice to see someone take up the task of doing a KDF version of this :)

This is quite the undertaking Nagus and I wish you all the best with it.

Hopefully my love for STO can be rekindled in time for me to take advantage of your work.

And yet again the KDF gets shafted :P
But in seriousness, sounds like a great idea Nagus and can't wait to see what you come up with :D

    Thanks, Nagus.

But you forgot the "Diplomatic Mission". The one where you transport the beautiful, alien princess / diplomat
to wed / negotiate a compact / trade, and she falls in love with you and you have to fight her off with a
hand phaser and a deck chair... must be the Old Spice. ;)

Blessed Exchequer, whose greed is eternal, allow this bribe to open your ears and hear this plea from your most humble debtor. Thanks be to the Nagus, may he get as much fun out of doing this, as others will from his efforts.

Places a slip of latinum into a small statue made in the Blessed Exchequer's likeness.

Question is: How long will that exploit remain possible?
I doesnt look to me like Cryptic is willing to continue to give out dillithium for free.

To the missions: sounds great to me... is it really possible to design foundry missions that change the maps and enemys in it on a daily or random base or do really got through the efford and do it manually?

His post sounds like he would do it manually, although it would be cool to see some kind of random bad guy generator introduced to the Foundry. It would save Nagus a lot of work too I think.

Sounds cool... I hope you can keep that up, as it sounds incredibly time intensive.
I would probably bail after a few days.
It sounds a bit like what happens with the Deferi dailies, where you get one of 3-4 different versions every day at random....
Depending on how much slots you have, you could copy and paste them and prepare a second version for the next day or so and just upload the alpha and beta versions on different days.
That way you could focus on playing yourself for a change the other day.
I'm not sure how you find the time for that as is between constantly posting here and real life anyway. :D

i played a couple. they are nice and short for the daily, but still require some effort to complete. a very clever idea to rotate certain aspects of the missions around. i like that.

while i dont have the desire to make that for the klingons, i will make some patrol missions for them when i can acquire some more slots.

Fortunately I've figured out a really quick way to do this due to 2 factors: each mission only uses 1 map, and there is a 10 map limit per mission. Therefore I have created 10 different maps for each mission that are already sitting and waiting to be used on their day. So tonight when I make the changes, all I have to do is go to the story section of my mission and change the spawn point from Map A to Map B, and then change the objectives from Map A to Map B. Honestly it will take less than 5 mins per map :)

And after realizing just how quick this will be, I might even take on a KDF version of this. It just depends on if if I can come up with 3 stories I think make sense to be done every day for a Klingon. Suggestions are welcome!

Honestly Nagus, Cryptic should be paying you to keep you in the game. I can not imagine how much better this game would be if you had been hired by Cryptic at launch.

Really? Everyone is complaining about being nickle and dimed and you want the FERENGI head honcho in charge? :D

Kidding... wouldn't be teh worst choice for sure. ;)

What's your professional background, Nagus? Would you be up for the job? ;)

I think I sent you a thank you by in-game mail but I don't know if it went through. So, I'll say it here: Thanks for doing this. I find it much more fun to be assigned to a specific planet to do a specific task, rather than flying around randomly.

One thing: In today's distress call mission there was no freighter to hail once the fighting was done. Just a heads up in case it's not a glitch on my end.

    Thanks again.

First of all you are very welcome. Second, I've gotten one other report about the freighter, although that was on a different day. I think for some people it might be blowing up due to the nearby combat. I'll see what I can do to fix this for future updates.

Ok, I have fixed the problem by changing the freighter from an NPC contact to an interactable object. The new version should show up in about 10 mins :)
