So am I reading you correctly that these are only "plans" at this point? In other words, no actual development has started on this content?

First off, hope you're feeling better, Stormy.
Secondly... argh, how to put this. You've been here for the past year and you know how this teasing tone has been received. You've got to be as sick of us mocking 'Soon!' as we are of hearing variations on it. But we're not given any sort of hint that things are changing for the KDF. All that we've seen is the first fifteen levels being cut off and some missions being repurposed for the KDF. I get that they're not letting you reveal anything, if they've even told you anything, but I know you're seeing it from our POV, too.
Could you ask the PW Overlords or the EEPH or someone to give their blessing for you to give more than hints? Surely there's got to be some sort of solid information that can be given! Not even a date, but 'This is happening: BULLETPOINT, BULLETPOINT, BULLETPOINT. SCREENSHOT.' Or something like that? Please?
Don't discourage the man. I plan on being extremely fit and healthy.

yeah, after years of "soon" and "We have a plan", it is hard to believe, Now, if you can throw us a meatier bone without the dreaded "spoiling us", we may be able to not completely disbelieve you.
Or at least an idea when you can give us some more info
KDF: They have a plan but can't tell us anything about them because....
PvP: THey don't have a plan, emergency fixes by Devs doing overtime, but a refreshing new overlord who asks, make it better
Fleets: They have plans involving Starbases
....so yeah soon

Although I definitely agree with the "I'll believe it when I see it" philosophy, I do think there is a big difference between Atari and PW. However, exactly what that difference means for STO's development beyond F2P remains to be seen at this point.

I agree it's all been spoken and promised for going on 2 years now, but I know new owner and F2P changeover takes up a lot of resources. Throw in recruiting, hiring, and training staff, and that takes more time. I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that once F2P comes out, a hefty number of writers, programmers, artists, etc. are working, and maybe the next FE rolls, we will see something a little more tangible.

My guess is that it will be like the Pico rescue mission.
Your flying by the system, a little alert (distress call) pops up, and you have the option to accept or just keep flying onward toward other adventures.
Boy, not a very -noble- fed captain if somone begs you for help and you switch the comm system off and keep right on going. LOL
Yes, perfect in its simplicity though and they could draw mission ideas from the DOff system for raids and frieghter hiest and supply runs, etc etc.

KDF content is almost the "third rail" of STO. If I wasn't confident it was actually coming down the pipes, I wouldn't be touching it AT ALL. My rep in this community is taking enough of a beating without needing to touch that rail.

The reason I say this is because you say things like there are "plans" and now in this post that you've "heard" about it from higher ups, but no comments to suggest you having personally seen it(like you would have if it were actively being made). So if that is indeed the case it unfortunately means that this content wont be here any time "soon".

Frankly if you had given detail. I no longer will believe anything I hear from Cryptic when it comes to KDF content.

I am at point that I sit and wait. I refuse to believe you are going to make good on promis. If happen I be glad and enjoy, but frankly cryptic has lost ALL creditably when it comes to KDF content with me.
The only way for cryptic to reclaim is by releasing some NON C-Store, ships uniforms and missions.
We won't see the DS9 FE till Feb. And they have been working on it for how long?
Its time Cryptic just admitted we'll never see anything from the Post Atari age until Fall 2012.
Too much time has been spent on getting F2P working. I fully expect another content drought to happen again after F2P considering how long they've spent on it. I expect development on new post F2P content will remain frozen until March once F2P is stabilized.
And once its started back up again it will be another two months before we see stuff hit holodeck.
Stormshade wants us to be positive so I am going to believe that the kdf content is such an amazing surprise that they wont even tell us any information on it until after it has been released!!!!

For the record I am a bitter, bitter, bitter person at having fallen in love with STO at closed beta, then right back out of it roughly a year later when it felt like the part of it I liked the most was still treated like an afterthought. I honestly spend more time on free worthless little facebook games these last 6 months then I have in STO over the same time period. The only reason I still even come by here occasionally is being a lifer.
And with all of that, despite the fact I have done so in the past and regretted it, after reading what you say I trust you're telling us the truth.
((Despite me believing you fully believe what you're saying you could still turn out to be wrong. Those same people above your paygrade can change their mind and or the plans without any input from you or anything. My trust in you does not yet translate to trust in STO or Perfect World.))
Looking over the latest dev blog, if the next FE isn't going to be until February at the earliest (more likely March) then any of this nigh-mythical KDF content won't show up until April at the earliest.

My enthusiasm for this game just dropped another notch. I'm in 2 Klingon PVP fleets, & neither fleet has had enough members on to make a full premade since summer. PVP is becoming a wasteland. KvF ques take forever. I hop onto my token Fed & get a FvF match in 5 minutes tops. It makes me want to kick my Targ in frustration. :mad:

Not in the sense that they should talk about the stroke of each pen with us.
But even though I've only been here since Jan 2010 I've seen people post their ideas and concepts for new missions, new campaigns many of which were beyond the scope of the Foundry so I find it unlikely they've been "used up" in this fashion.
Look them up, see what ideas can be translated into stories, into campaigns.
If nothing else this untapped potential should give you a much larger pool of ideas you could use.
Please don't let it go to waste.
