When did ship pruchases CEASe to be aco**** wide unlocks?

I think I may have misse dsomething here, every other ship I have ever purchased on the C-Store, especially the 1200 pt ones has ALWAYS been an account wide unlock for all my characters who can use it.
However now it seems they are PER CHARACTER purchases? when did this happen, when was this announced?
this does not seem particularly fair going from same priced items that were for an entire account to same priced items for a single character.
Having just spent 1200 pts on a ship expecting it to be an account unlock like every other one Ive purchased before has been (which is manY) has left me FAR from impressed.

Just taken a look at the web C-Store and they're all advertised as Account-wide unlocks.

and im pretty unhappy about it, like I say every other ship I've bought has been account wide and there is nothing stated any differently in this 1200pt ships description to imply it is otherwise and you it shows as locked and availabelfor purchase for my other Sci VA's, whereas every other ship ive bought shows as FREE to everyone because they're account wide.
I had heard rumors that this change was possible for F2P, but it sounded like such a bad idea I didn't give it credit. This is still far from confirmation of anything but a possible bug. Definitely worth keeping an eye on, though.
NeoWolf, bug report it and keep us posted on how it turns out. Hopefully other people will post here if they have the same issue (and maybe a dev will stop by to say 'yep, just a bug').

Looks like to be a bug.
The C-Store on tribble doesnt seem to be linked to Holodeck so any character there couldn't claim it almost by design.
Yup high enough I have a whole bunch of Va's on holodeck.
After much messing around it seems it just doesnt register as available the same as other ships. all ships purchased you are only supposed to be able to have one active of at a time i.e to have another on another character you would need to decommission the existing one first, or so I am led to believe.
But the Nebula doesnt list in your CStore purchases the same as other purchases, BUT if you go to the ship requisitions vendor on ESD you can get it on a character other than the purchaser as it lists at 0 cost. So that puts my mind at ease.
However it does begger the question as to why they have it showing in Cstore as only unlocked on the purchaser which is HUGELY misleading.
On a side note while messing around I also noticed the New Venture class Refit isnt listed in the Ship Requisitions vendor at all, so if you buy that the only apparent way to redeem that one is via the Cstor window itself, which again is odd and confusion causing.
Well it is a Science Ship Refit lol not that that actually makes any difference being a skill based game. wierd sounds like you have another bug .
Well, I dont want to have with my tact, I was just testing your bug report.. I use the Nebula with my scie toon.
The ships you purchase are account wide purchases. The ships are not one per account but one per character. You cannot have two of the c-store ships on one character but you can have more than one ship on an account as long as you are dealing with different eligible characters.
I have three VAs and some of the same ships are claimed on more than one toon.
If there is something preventing you from claiming a ship on more than one eligible character, it is a bug.
As an aside, tracking purchases per-character rather than per-account isn't something Cryptic wants to do anyway, they may make more money but it is a serious drain on DB resources and accounting.

Revo you da man.......solid voice of reason? Note though that i as well have rare occurances to a bug that seemed to jam up the plumbing on holo from time to time.

Revo is correct folks, if you check back to my post #8 in this thread I explained what the problem was and why it was seeming as if it wasn't account wide. It was Cryptics fault for changing the way it is listed before and after purchase as it does not show up like all the others you may have purchased before, which makes it misleading and confusion causing.
but it IS account wide.
And there we go. Very good news.

I have purchased every ship, and they all unlocked account wide, save one, the galaxy refit I bought.
I went back and fourth with the Dev's and they insisted that it was not per account...
...and this was months ago.
I say again (third or fourth time so far) this issue was resolved, ships are ACCOUNT wide, this issue was resolved and it was confusion caused by Cryptic changing the way some of the ships list when purchased in comparion to the majority of the others that is misleading, but they ARE account wide.
So I know the OP has posted several times in this thread and other questions have come up so I picked his first post to quote.
Here is two quotes from cryptic on this matter...
The other news for Federation captains is that the Excelsior and Nebula class starships in the Commander tier are moving from being available in the game to being sold on the C-Store. This change is being tried in order to balance the offerings at each tier. These ships are also getting an upgrade so that they include a valuable console item. Both will be getting an additional console slot and the Excelsior will be getting an additional Bridge Officer slot. Players who have one of these ships prior to the F2P build going to Holodeck will find that their ships are upgraded and receive the additional console item.
A rumor went around this past week that some C-Store ships would be for a single character. This is not true. All C-Store purchased ships at this time are unlocked for all characters on an account. We may release some ships that are for a single character in the future, but we do not plan to do so with the existing ship line-up.
Also keep in mind if you buy a ship on the C-Store then you can always reclaim it but some times you have to go to the ship vendor at ESD or the Ship yards to do so. It will not always let you claim it from the store. Not sure if you guys have tried that or not. Plus the C-Store on F2P test is NOT connected to the regular C-Store right now. So anything you bought on holo from the C-store you will not have accesses to unless you use the free points and buy it again. This only applies to tribble and will change but that is how it is now.
