Yeah, because if I just had those two Mk X consoles I could have bought with ALL the rank up DL that I ever got, then my Miranda would be doing just fine at VA1. If only I hadn't been so WASTEFUL trying to buy a couple level appropriate consoles when I hit Captain. Then everything would have been just fine.
You could have crafted them. And I know, the crafting system is bugged, cant only get the odds right now, yadda yadda.
You rushed through the beta even though the economy wasn't in yet, you blew your wad on junk that you could have crafted, and you are the only one who's fault its not.
They are trying to balance the economy, that is why it is starting tight, if it started too lose the shard would be contaminated and it would be harder to balance. If you don't like this kind of testing you shouldn't participate. If you have concerns that the economy is too tight, or ship stipends don't cover enough cost, or Mk items cost too much, there are ways of saying those things without ZOMG PAY2TEST hyperbole. I'm testing just fine and haven't spent a dime.

No rushing is required. Leveling was fast before. Now with the increased XP I made it to Captain 3 playing casually. Casually as in, not grinding to level and not playing every day (how that's an accurate test is beyond me). None of us knew how things would shake out. Most people were under the impression that STO would follow CO's F2P path. Surprise! It's not.
Berating people for doing what seemed like a decent idea at the time considering the info they had only makes you look like a jackass.

The 1200 Cryptic Test Points we got should have been able to buy an end-game ship, but Tribble C-$tore prices seem to have gone up just enough so that 1200 won't do it. But if we buy more real C-Points on Holodeck we'll get an equivalent amount of Test Points added to our Tribble account. That's pretty much PAY2TEST right there. Additionally, I'm thinking that's a taste of things to come.
I'm glad some people don't have the RA/VA ship issue others have. But that issue exists, and it makes the efforts of people who spent time in the F2P Beta who have the issue wasted to varying degrees. Cryptic could easily correct the problem and garner some much-needed goodwill in the process, but they don't seem inclined to do so. So 'meh'. Rewards, here I come.

Are you sure it's bugged?
