F2p Cryptic and Steam compatable trading please?

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the steam trading system and if they could see some great ideas going on with cryptic items, bonuses, in game stuff, etc. being trade compatible with the steam network when the game goes F2P?

I think some of the bonuses would include:
*Steam player base attracted to STO to collect and trade items.
*Trade-able subs at the Steam store to trade over the steam network.
*Weird Steam promos that tie into STO.
*Weird STO Promos that tie into Steam.
*Original Steam store purchasers see new steam compatibility.
*Eventual better incorporation with Steam friends system with the in game STO system, which I think if some is going through the steam network would reduce overhead on the STO systems.
*Sulu finally makes an appearance: in Poker Night at the inventory?
*Hats. hehehe

I would LOVE to be able to play STO to improve progress in other Steam games, and vice versa. Steam Trading is a wonderful idea, and I'm glad to see other F2P games like Spiral Knights coming on board.

    This sounds great.

just being available on steam has helped Champions Free for all so much.

Your Steam STO Idea would help STO F2P very much. it would attract a lot of new Players to the Game and if they would spend a few bucks on the C-Sore it would justify the potential cost to a Steam Agreement. Dont forget it is the C-Store that will mainly provide Cryptic with a solid Income.

This is something Cryptic should be working on if possible.

Additionally I would like to explain Steam trades. Games are available at the store in steam you can buy them and then trade them as a gift for items from TF2. This doesn't effect game sales at all, it actually improves them because here is what would happen with STO.

Some one who lives in Brazil wants to pay for STO but for his exchange rate to a monthly subscription might cost him $50 to $100 relative to his economy.
That guy in Brazil has hats or stacks of metal or whatever from TF2.
Someone in Japan or wherever wants metal or hats from TF2 so they find the guy from Brazil, buy that sub for him, and make a trade.
No matter what Cryptic and Steam win, Cryptic sold that copy to the guy in Japan and after that it doesn't matter but the Brazilian dude gets to play STO at a decent price for him.

And I've thought more and more about Sulu at Poker Night and that would be awesome if Goerge Takai were there to do voice overs and taunts for his in game characater. But.. Very Rarely, at buy in like all the other characters he will say something like "I left my Energy Credits in my other star ship, do you mind if I buy in with this?" And then he smiles and holds up the TR-116a. And if you beat him and take the rifle he tells you what you can do with the horse you rode in on.
