I bought the Rhode Island yesterday and I'd like to leave a feedback post.
I think it's a really fun ship. The design is great. I used it on my VA in a fleet action and had a good time zipping between all the big battlecruisers on both sides pounding away at each other even if I wasn't doing nearly as much damage.
Overall it's a great ship. A lot of people in ESD chat were considering buying it, and many did after I told them how much of a blast it was.
Keep up the good work, Cryptic. I look forward to more awesome ships in the future.
yeah, it's a fun ship to play in
sadly, many are blinded by the pay-to-win arguments and what this could mean for STO's future/balance... so don't be surprised if someone posts about that here

Would you have regretted if it was a Tier 5 ship? Or a Tier 3 ship? Would the model have been worse, would you have wanted the ship any less? Would you have less fun with it?
I find it sad that I won't get to have that kind of fun as I don't want to support any movements toward pay2win. And it's regrettable that I would have to tell other people that they better don't buy it if they don't want pay2win either. Because I think people deserve to have fun with this ship. But it shouldn't be a short-lived fun that is later ruined by other developments in the game.
I find it amusing that 1 ship with an extra lt BO and eng console can cause such a stir. I don't think there are enough hours in the day to go through each section of the forums to find threads about "tier x.5" Quite frankly you have ZERO proof to back up this statement. Unless someone as an "in" at Cryptic and already knows the BO layout to the other varients. Untill the other varients come out then thats all they should be taken as, varients alternate skins to expand the customization of your ships. The RI is hardly a "pay-to-win" ship", I see it as a replacement for those T3 abominations, friggin golf driver's with nacelles attached. The console is a flashy mask energy signature at best. *start sarcasm* The ships itself will hardly effect the EVER so competitive T2 PVP world, ya know being the biggest pvp tier to date. *end sarcasm*
The RI is a fine ship that allows players the option to stay in their T2-style ships while playing in areas that would be usually for t3 ships.
