it seems to me that every person i click on in the city is a tactical officer. Do you think there is imbalance in this region of the KDF? me personally i think it comes with the faction. The idea of playing a strong belligerent war like race probably isnt going to attract many scientists : / Do you think this is hurting the KDF?
Edit: My Nausicaan is a Tactical Officer and is my main for the KDF side. I just made a Female Orion Engineer and I am almost tmpted to make her my main instead of my Tactical Officer. I really do enjoy playing a damage type class and fighting with a Bat'leth is fun to me. I do play an Engineer on the Federation side and she is my main, so maybe the reason I am thinking about having my new KDF Engineer as my main is because I am use to playing it. That and I like the way I made my Female Orions uniform, I did not choose the skimpy outfit but I will have that as an alt uniform.
EDIT: Plus I rarely play a damage type of character in my other mmo's so playing Tactical was a nice change. Usually I play the class where I just hang back and deal with crowd control, back up heal, de-buffs etc..
I have actually been running into a good mix Tactical, Engineers and Science Officers when I am on Qo'noS. I have seen a lot of Klingons as Tactical Officers and Female Orions as either Science or Engineer. Those two races seem to be the most popular also, epsecially the Female Orions, lol.
My LG1 is an ENG and the main I am playing now is a Sci Officer who is up to CM1 so far. My poor Gorn who is the Tactical is still waiting to enter the fray but so far is unable to find a way into the Warriors hall
There's plenty of SciBoPs around, and I started one myself a few weeks ago. Most carrier captains are sci as well, and I see plenty of engs in battle cruisers. My main klink is a tac/raptor, though.
Got an Alien Engineer, a Liberated Borg Klingon Engineer, a Klingon Tac and a Gorn Science.
I seem to have a tendency towards the Engineers even though my Liberated Borg flies around in a Raptor.
I first noticed a tendency for a great many more Tacs in Sector Space when I first started playing the game at headstart...on the Starfleet side of things.
So maybe it's not just a Klingon thing but an STO thing.
A friend of mine and my primary playing partner and a WoW verteran sarcastically commented that it probably was the same kind of players who had played damage-heavy chars in WoW and who cared very much for their "damage-meters" in WoW.
He also expressed relief that there was no such "meter" in STO.
I have no idea whether he's right even though I usually trust his judgment and since I never played WoW myself I don't know much about the "damage-meter" breed of players anyway.
It would certainly be interesting to know how much the community in general tended towards certain professions...
So it probably boils down to a rather simplistic preception some people might have of the Klingons, or their allies.
Especially since for example the Gorn managed to feed Spock's sensor impilses back into his trcorder, turning it effectively into a bomb.
A neat piece of both science and engineering.:D
My main is a Klingon tac in a BoP, but she's not the only one that I have. I have a Gorn engineer and am going to remake my Orion as science once the new tutorial rolls out.
I don't think it's a klingon thing or even an STO thing. I think it's an MMO thing.
What i mean is that way back at launch, engineers were billed as the tanks, sci as healers, and tacs as dps. Those who have played for a while know that the mmo trinity doesn't really apply but to an outsider, following those archetypes is the path of least resistance so to speak.
Now in all my mmo experience, dps classes have always outnumbered tanks and healers and most mmos are geared to that end. Just look at WoW. A 5 man dungeon is balanced for 1 tank, 1 healer and 3 dps. So given all the above, it's really no big wonder why tacs are everywhere.
I have to admit, my first KDF was an Alien Tactical (tried to make a Yautja, lol)
But, he was my 2nd character. My first was a Starfleet Eng. So, I wanted to try Tac.
Also have a Liberated Borg Klingon Eng at Maj Gen.
And an Alien Sci (Cardassian, heh) who is a hair away from Maj Gen.
I think the ships have something to do with it, really. All the leveling ones are more tac oriented.
The Eng have options too... but not Sci. My sci leveled in BoP's with a tac friend doing most of the killing.
(I am probably doing something wrong though, cause my sci can't kill anything, but he does great debuffing and healing, lol)

Thats interesting, I thought the bug was that people were getting stuck in the warriors hall (it certainly was when I got bitten by it on Tribble), haven't heard of people not being able to get into it though.
Then again, maybe thats how Cryptic fixed the bug - don't let players in there in the first place, then they can't get stuck!

I prefer to play a DPS class when I start on a new MMO, my first here was a Fed Tact of course. I find its easier to learn the game if you're only job is to smash stuff. Eng is by far my favorite class in the game, versatile both on ground and in any ship.
Im a Klignon Tac and it seems that we have quite a few of tacs yes, which makes for very bad fights with Feds whenever we get in a fleet on fleet. I also seem to be very fragile, if I can sit in the back and DPS I do ok, but once the Feds realize Im squishy they destroy me

Liberated Orion Engineer in an Orion Marauder
Human/Romulan Tactical in a Kar'fi
Nausicaan Science in a Varanus
NonLG:
Cardassian Eng (Plan on putting him in either a Garumba or Vo'Quv)

simply doenst show klingon class symbols for some reason. sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

Now Sci/Gurumba, because giant laser = nice.
