And there should be an option to purchased these in game with EC
Well, I say this...when the deal with Cryptic and Perfect World is finalized...I'll be taking my issues with the C-Store with them. Perhaps they will listen where as Cryptic hasn't.
This game is PAY TO PLAY , it is not FREE TO PLAY , enough is enough now Cryptic you are now just taking the mickey out of everyone of your paying members!!!!
As if there isn't a dozen threads about this already...
Seriously, if you don't like something, don't buy it. Let your wallet do the talking. I myself got the bank slots for two characters, simply because I really needed the space. I'm not bothered by the extra cost, I've been doing the same thing in EverQuest 2 since they opened the Station Store there. But that's just me.

not really...you dont Need this to play the game...as long as they are not adding ships that have a special ability that you cant get any onther way *obereth comes to mind, but its not very good IMO* then there really isnt a problem...
If I delete a character that has additional BOff slots, ship slots, bank slots and inventory slots from the C-$tore, will I get those points back? If not, will I get "tokens" for each of those C-$tore things I purchased that apply to that character only that I can then use to apply to another character? Or are those C-$tore points lost?

You would lose them. This is why I am so against individual character unlocks.
For some things, I can understand a per-character unlock, but I don't think bank slots should be one of those things. Perhaps Cryptic could compromise and make it "per-faction", so that if you purchase more slots with a fed character, then all fed characters get more slots, but any Klink characters you have won't.
I have to say though, I'm glad they've given us the option. I desperately need more slots!
It doesn't seem that unreasonable to me. Ship slots and BO slots are already sold on a per-character basis, why would bank space and inventory space be any different? I doubt they're over at Cryptic gleefully rubbing their hands together believing we'll buy these slots for all our characters. Most of us have only one or two mains that we play with any measure of regularity, so probably never will need more storage space on the others.
As for the different prices, both are 12 extra storage slots, but your inventory moves along with you, while your bank slots take a bit more doing to access. So, inventory slots are worth more. Again, not unreasonable.
I'm just glad I've got some more room for my shinies now. I just wish I could divide my bank into tabs (or crates) so I don't have to spend fifteen minutes figuring out where in this massive wall of all my most beloved junk the item I need right now is hiding...

I an many other do not like the BO and ship slot per character, but we have not asked them to get rid of them, instead we've asked them to add the option for account-wide slots.
Cryptic still does not offer shared banks for sharing between characters, which most MMOs do offer free or purchasable ones.

This would be helped if they allowed us to respec our characters on the same level as they allow us to do it in Champions Online. Plus allowing us to put any bridge officers in the bank and mail them. As well as allowing either our character's bank untouched through this complete respec or make it possible to mail bound items and ships to ourselves.

In Champions you can buy additional TABS not slots. Which is far more superior then this TRIBBLE.
Sure there are other Per Character items in there. But they shouldn't be that either in my opinion, unless there are account wide versions available too.
Some of us have more then 1. I have 4 characters bumping their heads against the level cap, so far. So restricting it to one character only is greedy and I do think they at least in their mind do what you say they don't do.
I must agree , adding this option is a good thing , the fact that its per char and we are paying for the game time is very greedy , most games that sell these items are FreeToPlay, so i have no problem with them .
I for one will not buy any slots as long as they are per char . The slots opening items are too expensive as they are , and to think that you have to buy them for each char is a ripoff.

Ok, I see that they are discussing this issue over here.
Don't hold your breath for a Dev to come here, it is too potentially volantile an issue for someone to comment on when there is likely no chance for this to change. Like to BO slots and others, it was a business that "hey, we can make more money per character than account wide, so per character win". Yes I am sure that per character makes in-game and play style sense as you may only need more space for those characters you play most and this helps prevent additional creations of "mules), but the character deletion issue and this not allowing sharing between charcaters or even being done as a slot option for better organizing just irks me.
After waiting for almost a year for such a feature after getting used to fantastic features that are in Guild Wars, I am gonna have to pass on this until there is a massive holiday sale(which I am sure if yet another reason this is per chracter as people on fence will just buy later when things are slightly cheaper).

The thing that boggles the mind is that Champions Online, which uses the same engine as STO, has additional bank space that costs in-game currency. They got that in the first big patch after it went live, I believe. That would be like STO getting additional bank space a year ago. STO already has the mechanic in use; additional fleet bank tabs costs in-game money. Per-character makes perfect sense when stuff costs EC. When I'm forking out real money is where it gets dodgy.
If I delete my toon Joe Main, whom I bought ship slots, BOff slots and bank slots for, that money is gone. C-$tore Account Service items should be reassignable if the toon they're bought for gets deleted. Don't like Joe Main? No prob, just delete him and assign all his C-$tore Account Service stuff to Jane Main instead. Still only goes to one character. Still not account-wide. But now real money isn't lost if a newbie deletes his toon when he learns that the traits he selected when he created him were garbage.

If they have it where it costs in game currency for CO then why is there not an option for STO? There should be since this is a pay 2 play game. They should of gave us tab for the banks as well. It irritates me that they never gave us a shared bank to share between characters and the game is already over a year old.

luckily i dont need any so this is one i can pass over.
Yes, some other MMO are doing that, but those games that do that usually do not get money from me for those items.
