I think GreatBriton got chocolate in Jermbot's peanut butter.

Being from the 'Old World'...is that a good thing, or a bad thing....?? :p

Genesis Torpedoes, I like it! Now we just need a mechanic that balances better with B'Rels and we're in business!

Have them deployed as a solitary (cloaked?) mine, instead of a directed fire-and-forget torpedo?

It's a reference to an old Reeses Peanut Butter Cup advert. Chocolate covered peanut butter is a good thing, a very good thing.

I've posted on the idea of the B'rel being the sticking point for KDF 'pengs in another thread. It basicly goes like this:

B'rel can fire torpedos without decloaking for more than a very short window.
An all torpedo B'rel could divert all power to just Aux and Engines, thus being very agile and having max power for sci abilities.
The Hargh'Peng's proc is capable of doing direct to hull damage to shielded targets.
The ammount of 'pengs potentially loaded on a B'rel could far outstrip the hazard emitter capability of most ships it's likely to face, and with the ability to fire every three seconds, this would get... nasty.

In short, an all Hargh'Peng weapons loadout on the B'rel would be game breaking. However, if Cryptic made the Hargh'Peng either unique, or gave it a global cooldown half of the individual cooldown like Tricobalts, you'd make it far more balanced and less spammable.

These suggestions surface quite often, and yet we still get no word from Cryptic as to wether these changes will happen, are even being taken on board, or even getting read by the devs. It's a sad state of affairs, the general response on the topic seems to be along the lines of "shut up, you'll get them when you get them".

Thanks. As a former B'Rel-R captain, I had some idea what the issue was. The other poster just didn't make much sense in stating that it was an either or proposition. Your suggestions sound reasonable.

I'd like to see them figure out something different to do with the B'Rel-R or found a way to tweak it to make it more useful. I love the look of the ship, and I know some Captains swear by them, but I found it to be of limited usefulness in its current state.

Hmm.... much better with a B'Rel and a cloaked mine would be good for anyone in a dog fight. Plus, I've been wanting them to start testing out cloaking mines anyway. Cool, in the words of a certain effete bald man, "Make it so."

I think the KDF (if the Feds have our 'Pengs) should get 'Genesis Torpedoes'... In addition to the same burst damage/HoT as the 'Pengs, we should also be able to use them to create new KDF content, via new planets to explore... LOL

So you want to give the Klingon Empire a planet-destroying torpedo - the most powerful destructive force ever created, to quote a certain Klingon commander - to make up for the Federation getting the Klingons' anti-planet killer weapon?

    ...I like it!

Well, I think it all boils down to faction diversity. Maybe instead of asking for what the Federation has just because the Federation has it, you can think of your own, Klingon specific idea for a special weapon?

Wasn't there some special torpedo that the Klingons developed?

Yeah, it is called the Har'Peng.

    Okay, same for Carriers.

Honestly, Fed carriers would make more sense than Klingon Carriers. Just give the KDF more Orion/Gorn ships for the 'science role'.

Oh yeah, I'd totally be up for a game of hunt the adolescent Vulcan too :)

It could be the kdf version of greased up deaf guy!

I don't want a Genesis torp. I want the 'Peng.

I haven't really been online in STO for a number of days. The lack of a Klingon 'Peng is one of the reasons. The truth is, logging on, and seeing what we don't have, that we should have had, is simply depressing.

STO is fun, and I like the game alot, but sometimes it just puts me down.

So, if you shoot a Fed ship with a Genesis torpedo, would that ship turn into a tiny little planet?
    I'm cool with that.
Although it might be a bit overpowered. Maybe give it a 30 second GCD?
