I'm wondering what happened to all of the devs that Dan supposedly moved over to work on the KDF. All I've seen are the Qo'nos and Gorn updates. Even then, all I've seen are screenshots and I'd believe them when I see them go on Tribble.

That's a good point, if all he's dedicated are environment and character artists and modelers, then he obviously wasn't listening when we said we wanted content.
On a completely separate issue unrelated to the above, I feel I should point out that revamped missions are not new content, they are rehashed versions of content that was already in game. Revamping missions may be a worthwhile pursuit, but it isn't new content, asking the Goz to make new content for the KDF should take priority over rehashing old content for the Feds.
EDIT: That's not to say we don't want or aren't grateful for the Gorn or Qonos revamps, but TBH, it feels more like we're being thrown a bone rather than actually fed. "Chew on this and be quiet for a little while".
"The KDF are getting a remade starting Hub, a new KDF only Daily Ground and Space Fleet Action, Remade Gorn, exclusive KDF level 51 gear set (space and ground), their own form of assignments, their own unique duty officers, several new ships, and a releveled mission experience. Anything else is possible, but those are the tasks at the top of my priority list for KDF right now. The KDF slowly improves, but not as fast as the feds. The future could change this."
From the new Ask Cryptic Edition. It does not look like nothing to me. There was also a hint on remastered klingon quests during Season 4. And the last sentence is interesting, a hint on future resources because of the owner change ?
Also something else I´d like to say. Tutorials are nice...but once a new player has played the new super-duper Tutorial, he will soon realize that there isn´t much to do and is just as likely to stop playing KDF as people are now. A needed change would be to eliminate the need to roll a Fed first to unlock KDF gameplay.
Imagine your sitting in an italian restaurant and you´re very hungry. You order a meal that has multiple courses. Once you´ve finished the first course, someone mentions the chinese restaurant at the other side of the street. What do you do ? Get up, grab your things and leave ? Or are you staying comfortably where you are ?
That´s how i see the forced federation gameplay, people are more likely to stick to their first character, they have already invested time in, than start all over. The reputation for the KDF to have no stuff (which is a slightly untrue) and only have PvP doesn´t help much.
And people who don´t want to play a KDF char feel like they are punished for it by missing out on stuff. I don´t like this idea, sorry.
That's their problem. I am only very very very slowly getting my first Borg Item Set together as I have not much interest in the STFs either.

There are other games that have more than one faction, and people sticking to their first character stil have to "suffer" in the same way.

That's why it needs to be fixed. There won't be people suddenly going to the KDF because if the go there, there might be content in the future. What are they to do in the mean-time? Doing the same exploration missions (well, with more enemies to fight and more tribbles to hunt) as on the other side? Doing Empire Defense missions that are worse copies of Sector Bloc Defense missions? Doing Featured Episodes that barely differ between factions?
There are only two ways the KDF (and any other faction) can grow:
More PvE missions. The majority of people in this game enjoy their PvE. They particularly like the stories Cryptic tell. Cryptic _must_ provide stories that are truely faction specific, otherwise there is little reason to go to a different faction.
More PvP content. The number of people that enjoy PvP in this game is smaller. That is partially due to the inherent nature of PvP being of little interest to some, but it's also because PvP in this game is highly limited. Even if you like PvP, doing the same Arena or Capture & Hold maps for more than a year isn't very motivating. The very nature of PvP we have is also not really motivating - there are no long term motivatios like getting in-game renown for being a great DPS or Healer or simply a "winner" of battles and comparing yourself to other, nor the idea of advancing your faction's or your fleet's standing in the war.
More interesting PvP content that also involves stuff like your faction's standing creates motivation to join and identify yourself with a faction and its progress and failures, and contributing to its advancement.
Whats wrong with giving us what we have been promised by Mr Stahl? I paid (as others have) for 100% of the game and the Faction I like to play should be treated fairly and equally. When I paid my $$ it went to the game, if I was only going to get 10% of the resources dedicated to one specific faction than I would expect to pay 10% of the cost. Simple math at work here. It really does not matter what other players think (you figure out WHO I'm talking about here), we paid for a game and we are not getting what we paid for. It was not advertised as 95% Federation faction resources and 5% Klingon faction resources. It was advertised as having TWO playable factions. No mention of one being a redheaded redshirted stepchild.
What the Klingon faction is upset about is all the promises that have been made and not kept.
GIve us what we have and are still paying for and thats not costumes for our toons. We paid an equal price and ask for equal time or AT LEAST some love from STO.
The first step toward actually "fixing" the KDF is to finish the Klingon Academy tutorials and allow players to start as KDF from the beginning. This is the best way to encourage players to create new characters. That is the only way to increase the population of KDF players.
No amount of "content" can replace that, though it is also important to fix the existing levelling gaps and to add unique content and gameplay.
The next step is to flesh out the faction by adding content (to both Fed and KDF) related to backstory. Right now, a player's knowledge of the main KDF races (Klingon, Gorn, Orion) is an unwarranted assumption.
If a new player had only ever seen the Abrams Trek, he would know about Humans, Vulcans, and Romulans. He would know nothing about Klingons or Gorn and would expect to find hot Orion babes in Starfleet. If he bothered to read the timeline (which is another unwarranted assumption), he would learn a bit more. Probably not enough to generate much interest.
Over time, the existing missions fill in some of the blanks but certainly not all of them. The Foundry is not sufficient for this purpose because it's not official content.
The result for new players who don't know much about Trek lore is that the Klingons are the bad guys. Some would play them just because they want to be the bad guy, but it's not a compelling reason for the majority.
The Devs have expressed interest in creating missions that tell the KDF side of the story being advanced in existing Fed missions. Like "Diplomatic Orders" and "The Doomsday Device" and others. We should support that vision because it adds playable content and because it also provides an opportunity to tell stories from the Klingon point-of-view.
Presumably, it is also low-hanging fruit because most of the art assets would already be in the game.
Ultimately, the game only really works when it tells a story that grabs people's imaginations AND gives satisfying rewards for gameplay. THAT is what the KDF really needs.
To put it simply, the course this game is on, adding only Fed or Faction-Neutral content, will doom this game to failure over the long-term.
Too late. Name one MMO that has had a huge pop recovery that put it back into "Tier 1" status. The game has lost enough population to put it in the "niche" category, and that's where it'll stay, slowly petering out over the next 5 years.
At this point, the proper business strategy is to spend as little money as possible making as many players as possible happy - which means catering to the feds, and endgame content.
The proper dev strategy (purely in terms of the studio's plans) is to learn from the mistakes and start on the next game, be it STO 2 or something else.

There's like 20+years of backstory, leading up to the events of 2409. There's this immense, rich story that only gets told in the game via loading screens and it's kinda depressing. Would definitely like to see more of it.

BTW, I just like to mention that I love your sig, so I went & found the Youtube clips for you:
