Honestly, the c-store is curious

New to STO, liking it.
I am, however, really turned off by the C-Store - it seems the devs are very interested in only advertising the stuff that is on there. Everytime I see a new bit of news at login, its about something I cannot get in game, but have to pay extra money for.
My advice to the devs: tone it down. It's irritating to see you so blatantly trying to soak your players for more money.
Yeah, I know there's a million threads about this. Yeah, I know its unlikely to have an effect. At the same time, it might need to be said again and again to change it.

You may have joined at a bad moment. When the weekly series are on, the attention is diverted towards these and the c-store gets ignored for a bit. There'll probably be mostly c-store advertisement over the next few weeks as there isn't any major content till season 4 as far as I'm aware and then all of the news/advertisement/attention will be diverted to that.
I do agree there needs to be a bit more attention on other things, I think there could have been a bigger deal made out of the foundry release, I think it was a day or two after release that it appeared in the news and on the calendar, but that might have been to give players time to get some content on there. But it could have been accompanied by a special event or something, I mean, it is a really big, great addition to the game.
If you need a hand finding things in game, don't hesitate to mail or message.

STO is making more money than ever before, which means they are able to hire new employees. More employees means meeting deadlines and getting things out faster and more efficiently. Getting things out faster and more efficiently means we are all happy.
Another thing to consider: How many MMOs put out weekly content? How many MMO's have five-part featured missions? At all? Featured missions that cryptic has already said were going to increase in frequency from four or five a year to NINE OR TEN? You do the math on that, that's five missions a month, for ten months. Is that going to be enough content for you?
Seriously, Cryptic spoils us. And you guys just keep on whining for more content.
Do I think Klink side needs more missions? Of course I do. But it's coming. We have to be more patient. Do I think the ground combat is a bit borked and needs a retool? Of course I do. But it's coming. We have to be more patient. Do I think we need more endgame content than 5 STFs? Of course I do. But it's coming. We have to be more patient. In the mean time, I'll keep making my c-store purchases and enjoying the awesome content we already have.
Soon they will outnumber the crew of a Starbucks and we can have the game and coffee, too!
i can name a hek of a lot most MMO's most mmo's call them chain quest most mmos have more then this hole game has dun in a yr and thats even for NEW MMO TO and cryptic spoils us lmao maybe ppl whit a bank of endles money ive been whit this game sences open beta and have left this game alot why you may ask i will tell ya why get to VA end of game!
I do not think this is true. It may have been at some point, but not any longer.
Now alot of people are into micro transactions and they are every where on every game you play

These are all on facebook and have micro transactions
when you turn on any console or pc we are always flooded with news about offers and items we can buy for the games we play this is part of life and its the same when you buy a dvd or a cd even a car.
I understand it Fustrates people but really if you do not like it move on to the game or the next page I do
Then you're incorrect. dstahl has posted multiple times (in the past few months mind you) That his team works MAYBE 10% on c-store products. The rest can be either worked on by other teams or out sourced.

With such a small dev team, 10% is alot.
10% of say a team of 100 is 10 people.
Now take into consideration they are not working on the c-store 10hrs a day, 5 days a week you cut that number down to what...maybe 1 person at any given time is working on c-store? If that.
Really it's not all that high of an amount.
That reasoning is very subjective.
10% of 1 pound is 10 pence.
10% of 1 million pound is 100,000.
10% of 1 billion pound is... well I need not go on.

Interesting, one of the things I feel obligated to point out is that none of those require a subscription.
I agree that it is the double dipping is what most people find infuriating about the c-store.
lord of the rings online is FREE TO PLAY and ask for what elss you name is console gameing not MMORPG's gameing
and also lotro you can get there store point IN GAME and not have to buy them and ppl that pay for the game get 500 every month
hey, thts a good question. why is it in most mmo's the gear u get is from boss drops or rare trashmob drops, but in sto we get jack for free? i love the game for space pvp, but i always end up saying to myself " why so money grubbing? are these guys fly by night mmo tht will be offline in a year and the lifetimers are shafted? why does sto charge a monthly fee only to charge 20 $$$ for a ship in c store? sure u can grind the emblems( have fun doing dailies for the next month or so ), but is the multi vector or dreadnaught even worth the effort? i payed money for the multivector and only use it because i spent the cash on it and dont want to see my money go to waste.
i dont see alot of folks playing this game in a year because of poor planning on sto part. good game, bad game. take ur pick. i dont care if people disagree with tht, but its true. STOP with the C-store, or dont charge a monthly fee, or alot of the folks at sto will be in for a rude awakening when they see mobs of players leaving sto for WOW or another game tht gives you more freedom to do what you want.
Then you come here and find the cstore, while the quality hardly
matches what else is out there.
Maybe that is why your sales are so low.....

PS. I googled Atari and apparently they were delisted from the NASDAQ index, because they could not raise enough money.
