I've been in this fleet from the beginning. Along with the gentleman posting as tosveterans and three other great guys, I am one of the founders. In the three years since we started I have had a great time. I have made some real friends here and enjoy the camaraderie that we have on our Mumble chat server and our private "Mariner 10" chat channel in game.
One of the things that really strikes me as awesome is that we have a good core of players who are always willing to help out. If you are a newer player to STO, we can (and do) really help you get to that next plateau in your game. Whether it be squeezing every drop of DPS out of your Avenger (or Scimitar or Defiant or T'Varo or Vesta or Ambassador ect.) build or making a heal boat (or sci CC build, or an Eng tank build ect.) to be proud of, we have someone in our fleet who can and will be happy to help.
Another thing I love about this fleet is that you never have to completely PUG another STF/Fleet action again. We almost always have 3-15 people on between our two fleets (TOS Veterans and TOS Qan Mang, our KDF counterpart) and if you ask in chat or on our Mumble server you can usually fill out most of a team. Still might have to support a PUG or two, but it makes grinding Rep Marks sooooo much easier.
We also have an active and great website (www.tosfleet.com) that is maintained by one of our founders (@Darthjef, you rock!). We have a wealth of info on that sight including, but not limited to, ship builds, STF/Fleet Action guides written by our members, sometimes heated debates about the latest game changes by Cryptic and Member written fan fiction. The backstory of our fleet revolves around a group of captains and ships brought from the year 2269 to fight for the Federation. We intend the fleet backstory to be a collaborative effort, so discussion, ideas, and expansions are welcome. Fleet characters should have bios that relate in some way to the backstory, and we are happy to brainstorm on how to do that collectively. The TOS theme and backstory is meant to be fun and not a burden.

Just to let the outside people know that the TOS veterans RP is getting started up again. So if you are in your 30's, 40's and are interested in RP and want to be a part of a social fleet then please read on.
TOS Vet RP is a healthy mix of text-based RP and action! We'll get together on Fleet RP night (or nights, depending on demand) and get to know our characters better, as well as play through some of the game's story and foundry missions.
Rules? Not really! We want everyone to play who and what they like. Is your captain from the TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY. ENT era? Bring them along! Whatever race/class/era/ship/playstyle is welcome.
Casual play! Will we draconian about sticking to character? Not really! You're not required to be in character 24/7 while in game, though it is encouraged on fleet RP nights.

I've been in this fleet from the beginning. Along with the gentleman posting as tosveterans and three other great guys, I am one of the founders. In the three years since we started I have had a great time. I have made some real friends here and enjoy the camaraderie that we have on our Mumble chat server and our private "Mariner 10" chat channel in game.
One of the things that really strikes me as awesome is that we have a good core of players who are always willing to help out. If you are a newer player to STO, we can (and do) really help you get to that next plateau in your game. Whether it be squeezing every drop of DPS out of your Avenger (or Scimitar or Defiant or T'Varo or Vesta or Ambassador ect.) build or making a heal boat (or sci CC build, or an Eng tank build ect.) to be proud of, we have someone in our fleet who can and will be happy to help.
Another thing I love about this fleet is that you never have to completely PUG another STF/Fleet action again. We almost always have 3-15 people on between our two fleets (TOS Veterans and TOS Qan Mang, our KDF counterpart) and if you ask in chat or on our Mumble server you can usually fill out most of a team. Still might have to support a PUG or two, but it makes grinding Rep Marks sooooo much easier.
We also have an active and great website (www.tosfleet.com) that is maintained by one of our founders (@Darthjef, you rock!). We have a wealth of info on that sight including, but not limited to, ship builds, STF/Fleet Action guides written by our members, sometimes heated debates about the latest game changes by Cryptic and Member written fan fiction. Trust me, it is a big site, you can only see about 1/3 of the sight from the link I posted, but members see it all
We are all over 30 and we all realize that real life comes first. We have no requirement for amount of time you are on. If you can only be on once a week, but want a group to do stuff with, that's fine by us! If you are on all the time, that's great too.

The backstory of our fleet revolves around a group of captains and ships brought from the year 2269 to fight for the Federation. We intend the fleet backstory to be a collaborative effort, so discussion, ideas, and expansions are welcome. Fleet characters should have bios that relate in some way to the backstory, and we are happy to brainstorm on how to do that collectively. The TOS theme and backstory is meant to be fun and not a burden.
We are interested in all facets of the game, and plan to run occasional fleet actions with TOS era ships whenever possible. We also have plans to use The Foundry to create TOS-era adventures, flesh out our backstory and character biographies, and play with ideas that members have contributed.

TOS Vet RP is a healthy mix of text-based RP and action! We'll get together on Fleet RP night (or nights, depending on demand) and get to know our characters better, as well as play through some of the game's story and foundry missions.
Rules? Not really! We want everyone to play who and what they like. Is your captain from the TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY. ENT era? Bring them along! Whatever race/class/era/ship/playstyle is welcome.

Casual play! Will we draconian about sticking to character? Not really! You're not required to be in character 24/7 while in game, though it is encouraged on fleet RP nights.
