TOS Bundle Feedback

Being a sucker (but not enough to give in to buy the horribly bugged MVAM Prometheus), I bought the TOS Bundle. Below are some of my likes and dislikes about what I've taken the time to briefly take a look at so far.

Likes

The sounds are superb!
It does look quite nice overall.
Plaque commerating the Original Enterprise was a very nice tough.
The size feels right for once for a ship bridge.
Small Jeffries Tube area.
Opening and closing of the armor covering the windows is a really nice touch.
Horta Trophy and Guardian of Forever are perfectly suited for The Lounge.

Room For Improvement

The consoles on the bridge are... a bit bare. Sulu's station specifically is stands out the most.
Jeffries Tube area needs to have a purpose other than being the size of a closet that looks nice.
All of the ladders lead to the same closer size Jeffries Junction.
Science officer isn't positioned correctly at his station.
Engineering feels a little... small. Engine Room's are almost always massive!

Dislikes

Where's the ShuttleBay?
Next Generation Transporter effects (visual and sound) don't fit with the era.

I will more than likely edit this post as I take the time to examine more of the details, etc. For the 1400AT, I will say it's definitely worth the price!

I found one bug with the dress uniform. It has a TOS command badge around the belt area.

    Some discrepancies i've found.

Engineering crew is using a TNG style tricorder.
The Captains chair does not have the "sit" option.

You have to double click on the Captain's Chair for the sit to happen now. The mouse pointer changes when you mouse over it to reflect this. It does take a little bit to get used to.

That's not a bug, Kirk use to have his command badge there as a pin. Check out the pictures of him in that tunic sometime.

not sure if it's meant to be small, but I remember engineering being a whole lot larger, but I can live with it

That's not a dress uniform either. That was just basically a TOS Captain's variant. The symbol is supposed to be there on the wrap-around.

Yes the Engineering is very small. That would be the Engineering on perhaps the Saladin class Destroyer.

Another thing, some of the female crew still are wearing the flawed TOS female outfit. (old style one before it was fixed) and I really wish there was a way to toggle your BO's into TOS uniforms. They do stand out. Can't wait for the Shuttlebay!

All you have to do is go to the tailor and put them in the TOS uniform.

I love the Constitution interior, and the bridge is especially nice.

My science officers are in the right place, but the tactical stations in the center shouldn't be helmed by engineering officers.

I like how the NPCs are all wearing TOS uniforms, too. It deffinatley adds to the atmosphere!

The Engineering section is consistent with the original show design for the first season and part of the 2nd. Engineering did not get the stairs and upper section until midway through season 2.

I'm hoping someday we get an option to add extra clothing slots to our BO's.

It takes me twenty minutes or more to switch them back and forth. :(

Am I the only person that's noticed a most annoying fact?!

ALL OF THE CHAIRS ON THE TOS BRIDGE ARE FACING FORWARD!!! Since when did they do that?! I want my BOFF's and NPC's actually DOING THEIR JOBS instead of loitering around and leering aimlessly at the viewscreen. ALL of the other bridge sets had boff's at their stations, working their controls .... the TOS bridge has the standing officers working, but the sitting ones are just ... sitting, facing forward, and doing naught ...

    And they NEVER do that!

Am I the ONLY one that's noted this and gone WTF?

The Transporter pad isn't aligned properly either. If you stand at the back looking forward, you can see it's off center.

The shuttle is nice although there still isn't much use for it in-game as of yet! It comees with the Connie blue Phaser-S to keep with the theme. [=

    I noticed this as well.

The bridge chairs really should be turned to their respective stations.

ALSO! The TOS bridge is USELESS for "Mine Enemy" (The second romulan/reman mission)

At the close of the mission "Mine Enemy" the player is required to go to his or her Ready Room or Conference Room in order to access and decode the files picked up from the mine prior to beaming up. On most typical bridge floorplans, there is an associated Ready Room. This locatioin has a consol for "Mission Replay" and for this particular mission, an additional wall display is interactive, to allow the player to decode the gathered information.

The TOS Bridge does not have an associated Ready Room, of course. I went down to the crew deck and entered the Conference Room. Within is the Science Officer Consol, which serves in game as the "Mission Replay" interface. There is a wall pannel for the blast shutters, and one for the 2 trophy racks.

There is nothing for decoding the Tal Shiar files.

I went to the crew lounge, and tried the terminal in the Captain's Quarters - just in case. Still no luck.

I have explored every available surface of the TOS Bridge/Interior and cannot locate the terminal that will alow me to decode the Tal Shiar files.

With the current configuration and coding, the TOS bridge and Interior is unuseable for completing "Mine Enemy." As it stands, I am going to have to spend an additional 2,000 Energy Credits, JUST to change the bridge to something else, decode the files, and switch it back.

Did you go to the conference room?

Again, it looks as though they are using schematics according to Season 1 of TOS. A lot of people are nit picking engineering and the transportor room, but these are canon according to season 1. People can only remember what the ship looks like in Season 2 and 3 for some reason.

I may need to watch some TOS season 1 again. I think a good mix of the entire TOS series is what more had hoped for though. The Engine Room needs those stairs and the upper level in my opinion. There are two ways I can think of to implement this. They could be there if a larger interior is selected and not if a smaller interior is selected or there could be a TOS 2-3 modified interior to give it more of the end of the series look.
