lately i have noticed that the lack of KDF content has actualy begun to affect the moods of the federation, they are growing sour due to long pvp qs among other things.

What? Has playing FvF gotten stale for them?
    Surely not.
Or possibly some fedfans should not have backed the Devs in ignoring us by stating , " the KDF is only 12-13% of the playerbase, why make stuff for them?"
Why would the KDF grow if any new players to STO need only read the forums to see how poorly the KDF is treated?

There is truth in your words.

I also must say that the quote in your signature says a lot as well.

The way I see it, the biggest problem currently is not enough KDF doing PvP. Solution: KDF specific rewards for PvP, which are unavailable on the Fed side BUT are not bound. Thus encouraging people to play KDF & PvP KDF, even if only to get goodies for their Fed character.

That sir is a brilliant idea..!!! One that would be useful to both the KDF and FEDS.

The only trick is making them no OP but still good enough that folks will want to get them.

This won't help either the KDF or PvP at all.

All that would happen is the Starfleet players would come over, PvP a couple of times, email the stuff to their Starfleet characters, and then delete their KDF character to free up the slot for another large-breasted Vulcan in a mirror universe half-shirt.

So a month after this went live we'd be right back to where we are now and a ton of Starfleet characters would have new goodies.

One way to do that would be to offer token that could be turn into emblems on character. This would leave no real imbalance as it just make it bit easyer to grind end game gear or ships. It also have the effect of bring in those in that play the federation who want the shiny federation toys to play klingons till they get the toys they want.

This is correct, it would not help the KDF at all and is a stop-gap fix at best. Unless said items where made bind on pick-up which would never happen as the feds would cry foul over the KDF getting something they do not have access to.

Even if people only came over temporarily, it would still increase the population for a while...and some would stick. It's just a marketing promotion!

Not if these were bind on pick-up rewards like many of PvE mission rewards throughout the Fed content.

In retrospect, unfortunately, if said items where just KDF bonus rewards then the feds may/would cry "foul" and say we KDF where getting special treatment and such is unfair.
Hypocritical I know, but an outcome most likely to happen.

Not only that, they would demand to get a Fed bonus reward and have access to the KDF ones as well.

Fed QQ wins the day.......every day.

Unfortunately, I would see this happening, as well. The Feds get pampered too easily. I wonder if they would stop their QQ if they got the Klingon treatment for a while?

Going on the evidence in the forums when the Devs did give us (KDF) attention (new ships/ Pi Canis sorties) of some feds saying , " The KDF gets everything they want" " The KDf is favored over the federation", then I would hazzrd to say NO. The QQ would merely change tenor but it would not cease.

The effectiveness ( or at least the perception there of) of QQ in getting Dev attention is one of the reasons the KDF fans took it up as a means to get our displeasure and wants out for the Devs to see. Though some of us do get more "angry" in our posts when we truelly feel slighted or atatcked, our concerns are just as valid for our aspect of gameplay joy and fun.

I must've missed the Fed whining, and I was there for most of the Pi Canis/ship stuff, too.

I just wish that it didn't have to be this way, but you're right. Sometimes we have to be vocal if we want to see change. Ironically, the KDF seems to be more stable than the Feds when it comes to trying to get heard.

The occasional fed would chime in with such statements of "KDF favortism" in threads. It happened as the KDF where getting some attention from the Devs.

I think stable may be a improper word. Persistant and unflinching would better describe our attempts.:D
But yes it is sad that the belief that this is all that needs be done to get results. I even posted against it at one time before deciding to stop doing so due to the unending efforts I see the feds put into thier QQ.
